Topic : 08/14 Teens: Pressure to Be Pretty

This is insane. the first girl and her mother really make me mad. Mostly the mom.... her daughter is so cute if she starts messing with her self now she's going to be a very unnatractive woman. she has a natural beauty that is going to get destroyed with plastic surgery. How could a mother want to change something on their own child's face? This mother needs help to realize that her daughter is special and pretty and she needs to tell her that every day now to make up for breaking down her self esteem. The daughter needs to know that she's really naturally pretty and she shouldn't change anything. If she's bored she can go get a hair cut, pierce your nose, put on some awesome makeup.... just don't alter your face or body.

the second girl, (ashley i believe) needs to stop now. i had DD's when i was in the 10th grade and i know how frustrating it is to be hit on by sleezy guys, old guys and just all the wrong people, and I never even dressed provocatively.
Also if she wants to be an actress she's going to have to tone herself down alot. quite honestly if she gets these DD's the only way she's going to be an actress is in a porno. look at a lot of the young stars they don't have HUGE boobs and tiny waists, (well....some do) but most have a realy natural look and they relate to the rest of us ie scarlett johansen, kristen stewart, kirsten dunst, etc etc etc.........

Dr phil really disappointed me today. Boob jobs for teen girls? Never thought he`d be for that. That first plastic surgery often starts a chain reaction. They become plastic surgery junkies. All fake body parts. Ashley seems well on her way, already wanting another boob job.

It disappointed me that dr phil did not address the media`s role in this pressure to look a certain way, be a certain cup size, and all that other nonsence. And, advocating boob jobs for teen girls, having that plastic surgeon on his show, really burned me up!

To the girl who wants DD's. Like Dr. Phil said they are a pain in the back. I have them and I wish that I had smaller ones. Bigger is not always better. You look beautiful the way you are. Listen to your Dad. I am twenty years older than you and I just think that you will regret it later if you do.

My daughters and I are "well endowed".  If we could have breast reduction surgery we would!  I am always looking for "minimizer" bras and clothing that will not bring attention to my bust line.  These are only minor problems compared to my back problems, neck, and shoulder problems.  I am 62 and still 20 at heart and mind and 40DD.  I have also had neck surgery.

 

Of course, our obsession with appearance is totally out of conrol --everything from hair color down to the color of our toenails.  So many children have been raised with this mindset.   I was fortunate enough to have been  raised with the ideals of working hard and being concerned with "inner beauty". My husband and I have tried to instill that in our 4 adult children. All 4 worked their way through college and have their degrees.  I feel we raised some wonderful children who are concerned with others more than themselves. Thank you for allowing me to comment

That's so true!  What Dr. in their right mind would give a 17 y/o botox, considering what botox is?  And what parent would conscent, knowing the life threatening risks of any for of plastic surgery for that matter? That's crazy stuff.  I think it should be a law throughout the entire United State  NO ONE under the age of 21 should be elligible for any kind of plastic surgey.  Wishful thinking, I know.

 

 

Sadly enough, a woman is no longer respected by her brains, but lusted for her breasts.  It's sick and getting worse and worse.  Pre-teens, teens and grown women think that's what boys/ men want but in reality the guys are laughing hysterically, I might add, because the females DON'T GET IT!

Jennifer-- I think you are GORGEOUS just the way you are. I am 23 and I admire you so much for being in love with your body. You are an inspiration and GOOD FOR YOU for standing up for who you are.

 

Ashley-- You are gorgeous. Don't fix what's not broke. Bigger breasts will NOT help you out anymore in your career goals. You are fine just the way you are. Take it from a nurse, bigger breasts will give you back problems later. They won't always be so perky and you'll have to go under the knife more and more. Please stop!

OK.. I watched he show and want to say that NOT all ppl with big breasts are fact, or strippers!! I am a  36DD almost a DDD!  And none of those thing.. I am a stay at home mom!! and would personally do anything to get rid of them!! So i urge ppl to think before going that big!! its hard to find bras, and clothes to fit right!!
