When Dr. Phil last interviewed Drew Peterson, the former police officer maintained that he had nothing to do with the disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy, or the drowning of his third wife, Kathleen Savio, whose death was originally ruled accidental. In a shocking twist, Drew was recently arrested and charged with Kathleen's murder, and now a grand jury is currently reviewing Stacy Peterson's case. Legal analyst Lisa Bloom shares information about a new law that may allow into evidence some statements Savio allegedly made before her death. Will this reported testimony from the grave be enough to sway jurors? And, Kathleen Savio’s sister, Anna Doman, and her attorney, John Q. Kelly, speak out. Hear why Anna says she knew Drew Peterson was going to kill her sister. And, will Drew’s current fiancée, Christina Raines, stay with him now that he has been indicted? Dr. Phil speaks with Christina’s attorney, Gloria Allred, and Christina’s father, Ernie Raines. How did this family react to the recent news? Don’t miss these and other developments in this case! Talk about the show here.

Yes, I have no doubt in my gut that Peterson is guilty. So what? This show brought it up and opened a discussion. I don't feel there's anything wrong with discussing it, but asked a question (not complained) about it being aired at this time so as not to influence a jury.
The trial will be such a long time coming that today`s show will be forgotten before a jury is seated.

TYPICAL

Don't you all see the same behavior from sociopathic men who murder their wives? They always say they are the victim and blame the woman. We heard from OJ, from Scott Peterson, now from Drew Peterson, from every one of them. That is a very typical comment from abusers because they cannot take any responsibility for what they do and they are removed from their actions. Disassociated and cut off. They have NO feeling, no compassion, no conscience.

Why she didn't leave him

Men like Peterson have two distinctive 'faces'.  On one day he's charming, loving, kind, romantic...you name it - prince charming.  When he feels he's lost control of his woman he turns like a vipor.  He becomes abusive, controling, manipulating, cruel and subversive.  The reason women stay is because almost immediately after the abuse he's remorseful, apologetic, usually crying and often threatening suicide if she ever leaves him because he "needs"  and loves her so much.

I had a friend in a relationship like that.  She finally "disappeared" one day when he was out of town.  He never found her, thank God.  She couldn't tell anyone where she was going, not even me, her best friend.  It's actually difficult for me to describe what I observed in their relationship.  It was so unlike anything I'd ever seen before.  Also, women are embarassed to talk about it. We don't want anyone to know our husbands/boyfriends would ever treat us that way.  To answer the question Dr. Phil asked, that's why women stay and try to make it work...often, unfortunately, until it's too late to escape.

Contadictions

Drew Peterson is full of contradictions. He believed that his wife ran off with some guy, but they're still legally married - then why did he get engaged? He told his kids their mother isn't coming home ever again. Why would he say that unless he knew for sure she was dead?

Drew Peterson is a lying slimeball

I have met men like him, he thinks he is going to continue to get away with murdering women. I know everyone is entitled to a trial, but I feel that does not apply to creeps like this. Those two "lawyers" that are defending him are scum and I don't know how they sleep at night. I hope they don't have children who will have to grow up knowing their parent defended a scumbag like Peterson. I would be ashamed to be related to them. Just goes to show what people will do for money and their moment of "fame".

Money is not the root of all evil. But the love of it sure is! Peterson`s slimeball attorney`s must really love money.

PETERSON HIRED HITMAN

Prosecutors alleged Friday that Drew Peterson tried to hire a hitman to kill his third wife, Kathleen Savio, a spokesman for the Will County, Illinois, state attorney said.

Drew Peterson jokes with the media as he's escorted to court on May 8 in Will County, Illinois.

State's Attorney James Glasgow said during a bail reduction hearing Friday that Peterson tried to solicit a hitman for $25,000 to kill Savio, press secretary Charles Pelkie said.

Blast from my past . . .

I am so glad that Drew has now been indicted . . . and I really hope that young Chrissy is paying close attention to everything that will be said in the coming months.

This guy just scares the bejeebers out of me . . . he reminds me so much of several of my former spouses.  They were ALL sociopaths  --  consummate chameleons, able to play any part to perfection.  Whatever the social situation required, they would be all that, but when we got behind closed doors together   --  monsters, absolute and utter monsters I'm tellin' ya.  (Thank God for "Self Matters"  --  I know  I will never allow myself to get into that kind of situation again!)

I really hope that they can get enough physical evidence to put this man away (REALLY hoping they can  find what they need in that briefcase that Kathleen kept!) . . . I will be anxiously awaiting the coverage on truTV of this case.

I really hope that his children will grow up to be happy, healthy individuals.  I feel for the little ones, and wonder how the older ones will do if he is convicted . . . how will all of that shatter the  perfect image they have of him?  I know Dr. Phil is also concerned, and I am sure I won't be the first to say,

"I hope that Dr. Phil can help those kids with the counseling they will need as well . . ."
