Topic : 08/16 Bullies

  

   I is a really big  problem.One that parents that have kids doing the bulling do not want to agknowlage to them selves.Schools do not want to deal with.They both have a problem of blaming the victum.That has been my own exprience.my house has been tagged,I have recived really volger thone calls,my son has been followed home from schools.and the fights that kids have in front of my house.I have not luckly had any problems yet that I know of on my pc.The really dumb kids call and I have caller id I call the parents back.They allways deffend there kid even when they get to hear it played back to them.dumb hu.I had to learn how to block the calls and not let my son hear or even on the phone. There are even adults who are bullies and we wonder where they get it from.One of my nieghbors scared the hell out of my son.He siad it was because he didn't want my son around his son cause he was afriad he would catch his retard.To my knowlage autisum is not contages.My biggest fear if that these kids will grow up to be adult bullies.Some of our biggest bullies are the ones who have murdered and killed.Is this what are great nation has came to.You have to be afraid to go to school. 

Todays program said about a program for the computer that can monitor what has been typed...... anyone know what the name of this program is and where I can get it??? I have tried best buy, circuit city and media play and they all say that there is no program... help I know this can't be true.

im 16 years old and a junior in high school, i have never experienced any real bullying first hand but it is a problem at my school, especially when it comes to race, the original bullying isnt really the problem though, its what happens after someone tells a teacher or a parent, once an adult is involved and people are gettign in trouble is when everything really starts, a lot of icolation and rumors go around but the teachers and parents seem to think that they have done all they could, a couple of kids have gone as far as filing harrasment charges bu then it wasnt the original harrasers it was their friends or friends of their friends, it just seems like its a never ending cycle.  it really made me mad, and touched home, to hear about the schools and parents no doing anything on the show today, they've passed laws on bullying and "the golden rule" is plastered in every classroom, i think it would be nice if people started listening to the things eveyone else seems to be ignoring

Hey my name is jordan!! I go to a privite school and i am in 8th grade there!! I like it except 4 the fact that i have no friends!!  I mean i have friends at school ,but not like out of school friends!!! I really like what clay said about what his mother told him!!! I am really trying to show Christ through my actions ,but it is hard 2 do that in such a snobby group of people!!!

Tess & Mark please don't feel alone in what you're going through.  When I was in Jr. high & High school I too was bullied.  I had other kids calling me "freak" "dog face" "ugly" "homely" one boy told me that my parents were so disgusted by me that they would throw me out & make me eat dogfood.  One day I had a boy stop me in the hall way and say, "You would be doing the world a favor if you killed yourself."  Not long after that I had other people approach me & say, "You should kill yourself." but you know what? I didn't listen to them.  That's not to say that there wasn't a lot of anguish or hurt during this time & the thought of suicide did cross my mind more than once but what helped me the most was to find a good support system.  My parents, my aunts, church leaders, e-mail buddies, friends from other schools..  There were so many other people out there who helped me through this difficult time.  And although the teasing never stopped I graduated from high school in the top 20 & went on to college.  I am now married to an amazing man & even though sometimes I am still dishearted & discouraged by what I had to endure I learned to rely on those who love me because there is always going to be someone in your life who will love you unconditionally.  Keep them close to you & things will turn out so good for you!!  Life is meant to be enjoyed & even though these people are being so vicious to you always remember that you are a good person & no matter what you are loved.  You are an amazing person just the way you are!!  If you ever need to talk or are feeling discouraged just write me.  I'm only 23 so it wasn't that long ago that I was in your position!!  Best of luck!!

i a m16 years and a sophmore in high school but when i was in 5 grade i was the one who bullied everyone because i grew up around violence and that was all i knew.  that all changed when i was in 6th grade because i changed schools and then everyone bullied me and i thought bout all the ones i bullied and i had to make a decision because when i changed schools angain i started to bullying  again so afterh the show i decided to call them all up and apolagized to them cause i see n how i hurt them

I am a fourth grade teacher in PA and it breaks my heart to hear stories about bullying, especially when parents and schools aren't helping. I am proud to say that just yesterday I attended a workshop on implementing our new bullying program and will be working on presenting the in service to my fellow teachers. So please know, while there are districts that keep a blind eye, there are districts that are working to fight back. Don't give up. Keep bringing it to their attention and find a teacher who will listen.

This is my first time on the board.  I had been bullied terribly as a child.  Other bigger boys would hit me and I went to my father and he just said " hit em back".  I did that and they hit me again harder. 

I realized that this was not working.  I became more violent as I got older.  One major problem was that I was much more sensitive than most boys and would sometimes cry when being harassed.  Wow, was this the wrong thing to do.  Unfortunately some of this bullying still goes on in my adult life.  Yes it is true.  At bars and parties guys pick fights with me for no reason.  But I now deal with it differently.  Unfortunately bullies sense people who are sensitive and less agressive and prey on them.  Then all of sudden, like a game follow the leader, others feel the power it gives them because they're not the one being picked on it seems funny.  Unfortunately my son received my sensitive gene and he was picked on in grade school and middle school.  He took karate, judo and unfortunately had to use it but the bullying did not stop.  We even went to the school to pick him up one time and a bigger boy was throwing him around by the hood of his coat.  My wife scolded him harshly.  We got scolded by the principal of the school!  Can you believe that?  We decided that after middle school it would be best for us to take him out of that school district because these were the same kids he went to school with all of his life.  He started over with a clean slate and he is now one of the most liked kids in his school.  He concentrated much of his hyper-energy into playing piano, singing and acting and has received numerous awards for doing so.  I did also buy some boxing gloves to help him take out his anger on me.  He hit me over and over again.  It didn't hurt.  I don't know if it was the right thing to do but he mentioned that he had so much anger to get out from all of the things that happened in middle school and he started acted differently and less depressed.
