DISGUSTED WITH ARUBA'S GOVERNMENT

It is out and out disgusting that Aruba's government has not gotten down to the truth! This country apparently has a poor judicial system.  I am glad Dr. Phil got involved.  I agree  whole heartedly with Dr. Phil and the few others I have heard on TV say that our government needs to get involved.  We need to make it clear to Aruba that we are not going to encourage our citizens to visit their country .  If one of their citizens disappeared like this in our country we would have not done what they have been to Natalee's family.   I think they should have allowed the FBI to take the case over and do all the investigating.  .  Aruba's laws are out dated and offensive to me.  They need to admit that they need help and that they need to update their laws and legal procedures.   I and others will never step in that country till Natalee has been found.

Who is to blame for Natalee's disappearance?

Dr. Phil,

I have been a great fan of yours since your first appearances on the Oprah show.  I usually agree wholeheartedly with your opinions on most subjects and think you are "right on".  However, I can't help feeling that you have overlooked one important aspect of Natalee's tragedy and that is the mother should never have allowed a young girl just graduating from high school to go to Aruba to celebrate!!  It is so unthinkable to me to give permission to an 18 year old to go off unchaperoned to another country to "have a party".  I have 5 children and 7 grandchildren and it is just out of my realm of thinking to allow this sort of thing to happen.  Granted, I amd my children and grandchildren are not affluent and so this has not been an issue.  But, I hear and see so many of the young affluent kids these days out partying (drinking, sex, and drugs) that the parents have to step up and take responsibility.

I really feel so badly for this mother and I can't imagine what she must be going through to not know what has happened to her daughter.  I also feel that Aruba needs to be accountable, but it is still my feeling that if Natalee had been told "no, you can't go" this would never have happened.  I have seen TV specials on the partying that goes on in Mexico with the teens chug-a-lugging until they pass out and no one being around to care.  What a shame.  It really is a wonder there haven't been more deaths.

To Natalees's Mom

The least I can do as an American in support of your family is to never visit Aruba and encourage my friends, family and others to not go there where they so obviously bungled this case. I admire your strength in honor of your beautiful daughter.I am so disapointed about the date rape drugs and how common they are and many times lethal. I even pity the young men who may have wrecked so many lives, including their own by acting so foolish.Their foolish impulsive act became a serious crime.

living in Birmingham

I am so grateful that this issue has been elevated to a new level.  Beth has had the support of so many people, and the courage to pursue her task.  We in Birmingham see everyday the yellow ribbons of support, the news shows, etc.  But what we really want to see is some serious action put into play.  Vandersloot has confessed to violating Natalee, we now see that there is a signed confession, and there are too many holes in the fabric to ignore.  If this is not enough proof to bring them back....then a cover  up has to be in effect.  Dr. Phil, I know that there are many sides of the issue, but I think we are at the basics here.  Nothing adds up but lies and deceat.  Otherwise, this would have been solved a long time ago.  It's too bad that the Arubians feel like they are being pointed out, but hey this is their back yard.  Maybe they should care a lot more.  What if that had been their child in the U.S?  They would have done the very same thing.  I don't they would have headed back to their island and held a memorial service and gone on with their lives.  Good for you Dr. Phil!!!!!!

try to understand our view

Quote From: petar1984

Reading all these message's about Aruba and the missing Girl, in combination with the Netherlands and staying away from that Island. The only thing I see is the black and white perspective that we all have.

We must think in colour, not in just black and white.

We must not let the whole island pay for this fault. It has to be a political thing, send Bush to Aruba and let him talk about this.

Don't involve innesant people of Aruba, why must they pay the price of a missing girl.

Of cource it is bad that she disappeared, but let stay focussed on the case.

If the US people don't visit Aruba, then other country's while still visit it. And believe me Dr. Phil, not all your viewers will handle your way. As we say in Dutch: "Ze zullen niet naar jou pijpen gaan dansen".

Sorry for my bad English, but I wanna say my opion about this.

You are all still welcome in the Netherlands...

In the US, there are ways to have justice served,  in Aruba, we (obviously) have no way of seeing that Justice is served.  If anything were to happen to me in Aruba, I fear that I would be tossed away like dirt.  You have to admit, that's a scary situation.  You have to admit that there are too many inconsistancies in their stories to be set free.  Poor Natalee,  My prayer goes out to her family.  I pray for justice everyday.

09/15 The Disappearance of Natalee

Quote From: rachelvega

First off ,us Americans know that we are not perfect, nobody is.  Something bad happen to Natalee and its wrong just to over look it.  Natalee's mother is accusing those boys and so I'm I. You got to read in between the lines!! Just listen really good and you'll know who's lying for instance look at the boys mother she did not want for her interview go on national television, why?? DUH!! Just really listen. OH and check out the crime rates EVERYWHERE its all around us.

Why is everyone quoting criime rates. The issue is not crime rates... the issue is a cover-up by the Aruba government in the disappearance in Natalee. Stay on the issue!

Americans are not boycotting Aruba because of it's crime rate. It's boycotting Aruba because the Aruban governement has "failed" to do its job.

Does it make you feel good that the Aruban authorities originally tried to blame this on a couple poor people for Natalees disappearance? In fact Beth (an American) had to come out publicly to tell Aruban authorities that they had the wrong people.

Does it make you wonder when the suspects admit that a crime took place, but they are later released?

Does it make you wonder when Aruban courts place no travel restrictions on possible murder suspercts?

Does it concern you that Aruban authorities have not yet found Natlalee on a tiny island?

Does it concern you that Aruban authorities freed Joron when the American media was focused on New Orleans?

What is Aruba trying to hide?

Thank Heavens!!!

It is a true blessing for God that Dr Phil is helping out in the Natalie disappearance....  someone of great magnitude will make more of a difference than the idots in Aruba!!!!  I was beginning to wonder if anyone was even watching this case!!!!  I was more than ecstatic when I found out Dr Phil was!!!!!  I can't believe all of the things that have taken place in that country and that those people have gotten away with it!!!!!  The only thing that people got punished for throughout this entire case was if they came forward and actually gave information helping the Holloway family!!!!

You can't keep your kids locked up.

The bottom line, a crime was committed and it's not Natalee's fault.  The thought of a date rape drug is very scary.  You can't defend yourself with that.

Pray for the Holloway/Twitty family

I think we have given the Aruban government long enough to do nothing like they have been doing.  It is odd to me after the hurricane hit and they thought no one was paying attention that they let these guys go. I wonder what the Daddy Juge is hiding.   I encourage people not  to go to Aruba.  I would really not be afraid to go there but we really need to put the pressure on the government.  I feel so sorry for Beth and family.  I don't think I could keep my composure as well as they have if one of my kids were missing.  I think they have been real patient.  Also about the black woman that was murdered by her boyfriend, I saw that on Greta every night for a few weeks.  I don't think it has anything to do with color.  The people that said they have not seen anything on TV about this woman must not watch FOX.  That was so sad .
