We are praying for you Beth

Beth, I cannot imagine what it feels like to walk in your shoes.  Your daughter is an amazing woman.  I can see where she gets it:)    I know my family and I WILL NEVER step on a Aruban soil because of the way they are handling your case.  They have forgotten who the focus needs to be on, it needs to stay on Natalie.  She is an American, she is a daughter, she is a friend, she is a successful young woman.  After hearing that tape of Deepak, I myself wanted 2 minutes in a room with him.  That is your child, and quite frankly that punk needs to be brought up to speed on the daughter and person Natalie is.  I have watched a lot of those cop shows, and it always seems the suspect always turns around that it was the victim's fault for wearing those clothes, or being at a certain place.  Those three little juvenille rejects know way more than they are telling.  I will continue to pray for Natalie and you, and your family.  My 9 year old daughter asks everyday if they have brought Natalie home, and it makes you tear up saying, no.  We continue to pray for that day.  Dr.Phil will get the job done down there.  Stay strong, we are ALL behind you.  Much Love sent your way, Chelley

You people are all ridiculous.  I am an American who lives on the island and the pond wasn't even a pond until July 16.

We aren't going to accept it!

To those of you posting that are trying to defend Aruba or the Dutch Government...I understand that its hard not to be defensive when people are criticizing your country and the legal system!  Trust me Americans deal with stereotypes and criticism daily from other countries.  The simple fact is we are not going to accept what happened to Natalee until there is proper resolution and people responsible pay the right price for what they did.  It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that these boys know what happened to Natalee.  What kind of idiots let a possible crime scene and evidence and witnesses clean up their mess for days before even investigating?  I am sorry but if you don't think there is something wrong with that then you are in denial people.  I truly believe the investigators (if thats what you want to call them)  had no idea how big this case would be.  I believe that If Beth hadn't so wisely used the media to call attention to the case that they would have just swept it under the rug and let those boys go a long time ago.  Like I have said before, my husband and I canceled a trip to Aruba because we WILL NOT go to a country that conducts its investigations so sloppy.  I mean you have think about it....what if this were your situation?  What if you went missing there while on vacation?  Would you want to put your family through what Natalee's family has been put through?  Well thats the risk you are taking when choosing to go to Aruba!!!  It's not worth it to me!  Is it to you?  I will write whoever I have to write Dr. Phil!  I say bring it on because we are not going to stop fighting for Natalee.  We are her voice now.  Too bad Joran and the Kalpoe brothers aren't Texas residents...we have the death penalty here and we use it!

Travel to Aruba

Quote From: rainiwin

My family of four (includes two teenagers) planned and paid for a two-week cruise through the Panama Canal, which includes a day stop in Aruba in February of 2006.  I am sickened.  I have contacted the cruise line to ask that they either skip the stop or put pressure on Aruba.  If they want American dollars they better give us justice for Natalee and her family.  Stop the coverup.
I understand your concern about your trip.  My husband and I have both traveled to Aruba (before we were married) and found it to be a beautiful island.  May 17 I booked a 9 day Anniversary trip to Aruba - I have wanted to cancel it many times and he talked me out of it.  Before the show was over yesterday I cancelled the trip - WE DID NOT CARE WHAT IT COST!!! I have a 20 year old daughter and an 18 year old step daughter (she left for her Sr trip the day Natalee disappeared) who travel on their own frequently and my heart has ached for Beth and her family daily.  She has to be one of the strongest women I've ever seen.  The few times she's been repremanded for actions or words (very warranted) is amazing - I'd probably been in jail by June 2!  If the cruise line won't change your day in Aruba (only with enough pressure from other passengers will that happen) I would stay on the ship - treat it like a day at sea.  Your itinerary will be a wonderful one without the fear of being on that island.  I did not want to give them 1cent of my vacation $.  Crimes have been commited and overlooked - this mother deserves answers and closure. God bless Natalee and her loving family.

Typical

In my opinion it's so typical of America that their media is trying to perform every week a sizzling spectacle. The American people have lent their ears and eyes to the Republican Fox network and they will get were they ask for. From Terri Schiavo to Natalee Halloway, all items are blown up to absurd big proportions. Fortunately  mr. president, G.W. Bush, has so far not given his comment on this subject, otherwise all hell will broken loose.

Anyway, the big thing in US media at this moment is clearly the untrustworthy Dutch law and its sinful people.

We can do more

Dr. Phil said we could write to the Aruba governement, and I am.  But I took it a step further and have emailed all my contacts with pasteing Dr. Phil's website of the story encouraging others who might not have saw the show to take action.  And for those of you interested the white house address is:

1600 Pennslvania Avenue NW

Washington, DC 20500

I have noticed so much negativity on this board.  That's not what this board is for.  We all need to work together to bring this young woman home, one way or another.  Her family, and Natalee, deserve at least that.  Americans come together in crisis - that's one of the best parts about this country.

Why are we ridiculous?

Do you have children? How would you feel in Natalee's mother's shoes? The painful words she has had to hear and these boys are running free.  They have told lie after lie - I've always told my children - if you tell 1 lie you'll end up telling 10 to back it up then you won't even remember the truth yourself.  They should be behind bars until they can tell the truth - simple question - WHERE IS NATALEE??? Plain and simple.  My heart aches for this mother - and in no way do I feel ridiculous for feeling this way.

09/15 The Disappearance of Natalee

Quote From: stocksun

WOW!! Lets review the stupidy of all this....

1. 18 years old going to Auruba with 120 students and just a few chaprones!! (BRIGHT)

2. Going into a bar dressed poorly.....(ONCE AGAIN...BRIGHT!)

3. Getting into a car with three guys.....(STUPID EVEN IF YOU KNEW THEM!!)

4. Parents saying she was a virgin.....(AND HOW DOES SHE KNOW THIS?)

SORRY, BUT AS A MOTHER, I WOULD OF NEEEEEEEEVER ALOWED MY DAUGHTER TO GO. ITS ASKING FOR TROUBLE. WE ARE STUPID IF WE PUT OUR CHILDREN INTO SITUATIONS THEY ARE NOT READY TO HANDLE.

I feel sorry for the family, but I kinda feel they were asking for trouble.

1.  She should have been able to go on her Senior Class trip and not fall victim to predators looking to sexually assualt her.  She was in the wrong place at the wrong time.  There should have been a buddy system and the chaperones should have been actually chaperoning.

2.  Natalee had on a jean skirt and a modest turquoise bandana style top with Rainbow flipflops.  What is so inflamatory about this outfit?  She was NOT dressed like a slut.

3.  She was under the influence of a date rape drug and was not in control of herself.  She was immobilized and helpless... coming in and out of consciousness while being raped by the 3 perps.

4.  Given her conduct, high standards, rigorous and demanding schedule as well as numerous people that attest to her having high standards and morals... I fully believe this.  I don't know why this was mentioned as it has no bearing on what fate befell her that night.  Is someone more of a victim or less if they are a virgin??  Of course not.  I despise posters that make a mockery of this horrible ordeal and commend Dr. Phil for lending his support and resources to this desperate situation.

No light in her eyes

The emptiness in Beth Twitty"s eyes makes me immediately cry. So many people are supporting her, encouraging her, but only she as a mother knows the pain and anquish she can only feel with a child missing. Aruba is interested in only making money on tourism. When did they get so cold as to human life. Allowing bartenders to slip drugs into unsuspecting victims and then violating them. Why do so many not feel remorse!!! Thank you Dr. Phil for saying  no more mr. nice guy!!!!! This could be happening in  other resorts. Hopefully this will be a wake-up call to other resorts to enforce laws rather than look the other way. I pray for our youths in America and that on their travels they are safe. I pray that Beth Twitty and her family have closure soon. God Bless them all.
