It's Ask Dr. Phil day and the doctor is in! The sky's the limit as Dr. Phil answers anything and everything -- including some questions with adult content! Melissa and Larry have been debating for years about what exactly constitutes oral sex. What they do agree on is that it's ruined their sex life and they're ready to put it to rest once and for all. Then, at just five feet tall and 100 pounds, this model says she's too petite for her dreams to come true and feels short-changed. Hear what she has to say about overweight people who win prizes for losing weight! Next, can you love your animals too much? Ken says his girlfriend treats her dogs like they're her children, but is he just jealous?  Join the discussion.

Find out what happened on the show.

WHOA!!  Some major  "backpeddlin" is going on here.

Did you not go on national TV to say how overweight people can just lose weight , and why oh why is Dr. Phil rewarding them?  I think that point was very clear, although misinformed and ignorant.  All I took away from seeing you was an attitude of " poor me I'll never get to fulfill my dream of being a runway model."

What I  honestly cannot figure out is why Dr. Phil bothered to put you on a show at all-didn't find your "issue" the least bit interesting or worthy of attention.  I have to agree with Cambrie- I think you just wanted whatever perks or goodies were available, but most of all, you wanted exposure to further your career., which you eluded to in your post.

"To create awareness as a petite and short person"-hmmmm, you have too much time on your hands and unfortunately, are not grateful for all the blessings life has given you.  How sad.

Yup! you got the whole thing right the poor short girl just wanted to :

"To create awareness as a petite and short person".

Awarness about what?

-That Short people exist?

-Or short people can't do runways?

- Or fat people are bad and don't deserve a reward?

-Dr. Phil is spoilling ex-obese people by reawrdind them?

I like your "expression" though. "create awarness"!!

Poor little petite model

I've got one thing to say to you.  GET OVER YOURSELF!  You went on the Dr. Phil show for one reason and one reason only.  GREED.  You figured if you whined and cried long enough about how hard it is to be a short person that he would just fall all over himself to find someone to give you a modelling contract.  But you didn't "create awareness" of the plight of short people.  You did nothing but show your true colors and let the world know that you are nothing but a greedy, grasping, bitter little pest who thinks the world owes her something because she had the misfortune to be born short.  Buy a clue, sister.  Dr. Phil is always telling us that we are not alone in our problems, others exist with the same problems.  You had the temerity to gripe on national TV that your dream of becoming a model will never come true because you are short, then you go on to admit to Dr. Phil's face that you already are a model, and you get PAID for it.  If you want to take your dream further then get off your butt and find other petite women out there who want what you want, get together and demand that the modelling world sit up and take notice.  You think those plus-size models just suddenly appeared because someone waved a magic wand?  Not hardly.  Plus-size women all over the country got together and demanded that the modelling world make some changes.  They were fed up with skinny minnies like you modelling clothing supposedly made for plus-size women.  Oh, and by the way, Dr. Phil doesn't reward people for losing weight, he rewards them for making a conscious choice to deal with the real issues in their life that are contributing to their weight problem.  And THAT is a very big difference.

YOU ARE NOT WORTH THE TIME ANYMORE

Quote From: branrw21

If he can't have sex, then why does his wife want to boost her desire, so she can have sex with him? She didn't just say she wasn't interested in oral sex, she also mentioned that she wasn't interested in sex at all, no matter what kind it was. Oh, I've read the message board regarding this topic. I got a clue.

Why is it that when I try to explain a more open viewpoint on sex, you tend to get very defensive, and are asking why we are attacking your character? I'm not attacking your character, nor am I getting defensive about what you have written. I'm just explaining the situation with a more open view.

You my dear need to grow up a bit.  What you just responded with was completely irrevelant to what I said.  You just took the conversation back about 3 days to when it started.  You're talking about blow jobs and ejactulation and being open minded about it and I'm trying to discuss the topic which had nothing to do with your sexual revolution or being open minded about sex.  No one's attacking you here so play the victim all you want in order get that last word in.  And that man did attack my character by the way.  He called me bitter and ignorant.  I would call that an attack on my character.  Don't recall ever accusing you of that so why you even brought it up is beyond me.  So I wash my hands of you now.  I have no more time for your foolishness anymore.

Good luck to you.  I will no longer dignify your childish and irrelevant comments with a response.  GOD BLESS.

Quit allready.  Can't you see you are not going to convince each other of your own opinions?

And to the woman who claims God Bless.  I don't see you being very christian like.  What an example to others of what a christian should be like. You are certainly not  ANY christian I would like to be like.  And, you ARE attacking her.  Look at your above statement, you called her foolish.

10/04 Ask Dr. Phil

I just want to say that I normally do not post messages on message boards.  But after seeing Melissa on the show , the one with the height issues, I was so outraged!  It's one thing to want to create awareness for short people but to attack others in the process?  I can sympathize with being short, I'm short too.  At first glance my thoughts were "good for her for going on tv and talking about that"....but then she started in on "overweight" people.  She doesn't know why people have weight problems or how they got there, most of the time they don't even know how they got there.  For me personally, I've gone through things I wouldn't wish on my worse enemy, things that are very personal and it has taken me years to deal with those things.  In some ways I guess I am still dealing.  One of those things, though not the worse by far was anorexia.  For her to say that overweight people can just stop eating....well I did that once and I became anorexic so it's not that simple.  I don't feel sorry for myself and I certainly don't look down on myself or anyone else and neither should she.  Bottom line...you can create awareness without attacking people you know nothing about.

Didn't YOU just turn this around??

"No one's attacking you here so play the victim all you want in order get that last word in."

I never said anything about anyone attacking me. How'd you come up with that?

Thank You

I'm really not trying to convince anyone here. I'm just simply putting an open minded viewpoint to what should be an open minded topic. Just simply saying that your sexuality isn't wrong. Wouldn't that be a fact and not an opinion?

I agree with you about sexuality not being wrong, but some people think it is, so in my opinion, it's an opinion. For example, my mother grew up in a generation that thought sex was dirty. It is simply ingrained into her. Luckily for me and my husband, it wasn't passed on to me.  We have a wonderful relationship in all areas.

Oh well, we all know about opinions don't we?! hehe

Short and Loving It

Quote From: caimbrie

I am just barely over 5 feet tall, before i had my children i used to be a size 0. After my children i am a size 3 to a 5. I would never use my height to try to get pitty. I get called "cute" also... so what? At least they arent calling you ugly. I get picked on daily for being so short, my husband is 6'3" so he's always joking with me. I cannot reach the second shelf in my kitchen or stuff on the top of the fridge.

The comments about rewarding people who lose weight makes me sick. Not all people who are overweight, became that way by over eating. People have health issues, physical dissabilities ect... To lump them all together and say they made themsleves that way by eating too much is very rude and ignorant.

"Over weight people can lose weight but I can't make myself grow" NOT all overweight people CAN lose weight, It's not that easy for everyone. Some people are genetically predisposed to being overweight just like I myself am genetically predisposed to being short.  Using your height and inability to do certain modeling because of your height to try to get pitty (or gifts from dr. phil, since it looks like you were going for that) is very sad.  I think I hear worlds smallest violin playing for you.

I apologize for being so blunt but that is one of the most ridiculous complaints i have ever seen from anyone. If that is the toughest issue in your life, you are one lucky woman.

I, too, am just 5 feet tall (short)....and I've learned to love it!  My husband is 5'11" and jokes with me about it, too -- he calls me "little foot" (cause I have little feet, too).  I'm called cute (even at 52)...and I love it!  My husband gets things off the second shelf for me (unless he's not there -- and then I use a chair)...and I love it!  My 12-year-old daughter brags about being taller than me....and I love it!  At my age, I'm sure there's no chance of growing any taller, but I can continue to grow in confidence and dignity.  Maybe Melissa needs to find another challenge -- one in which she can use her brain...and not her beauty.  She'll most likely be short for life, but the beauty will someday fade.  Oh, and remember the most important thing of all, Melissa...beauty is only skin deep!

Insensitive

That short model is an insensitive spoiled brat!  She should be thankful for what she has & stop being jealous & hateful about other people.

There seems to be a national trend lately to hate, mock,  & put down fat people.  Why are thin people so mean?
