It's Ask Dr. Phil day and the doctor is in! The sky's the limit as Dr. Phil answers anything and everything -- including some questions with adult content! Melissa and Larry have been debating for years about what exactly constitutes oral sex. What they do agree on is that it's ruined their sex life and they're ready to put it to rest once and for all. Then, at just five feet tall and 100 pounds, this model says she's too petite for her dreams to come true and feels short-changed. Hear what she has to say about overweight people who win prizes for losing weight! Next, can you love your animals too much? Ken says his girlfriend treats her dogs like they're her children, but is he just jealous?  Join the discussion.

Differences

Maybe the question should have been more like...Are you upset because overweight people CAN change, and you can't change your height?

She sounds like she is just very upset over the fact that she has come against restrictions in her dream, and possibly not being taken seriously.

Well, reality is that most people feel not taken seriously in a host of different areas, and most will also not be able to have their dreams come true.

My advice? Suck it up and be happy and gratefull for all the blessings that you do have :)

10/04 Ask Dr. Phil

The girl that was on with the "height problem" was way out of line. I can sympathize with her being short. I am 5 foot tall too. I am 23 years old and have been that height since 6th grade. It was hard growing up watching everyone grow taller than me, but I got over it. Height is nothing that you can change. You just have to accept it.

As for the weight thing. I am 200 pounds and 5 foot tall. I agree that my weight problem is my fault, but it's so hard to change it. I guess in her world, I would be the worst of all types of people. I am short AND fat. I really want to lose weight. I am getting married next summer and wish that I could drop 50 or so pounds before then, but I don't know if I have the willpower to do it. I can take being told that I need to lose weight, I know that better than anyone, but way she made her point about overweight people was not very tactful and actually it made her sound very ignorant.

I wish her well with her modeling. This is America and anything is possible.

Melissa...problem with rewarding people who lose weight

I think Melissa had two issues going on...one of which is she has a problem with being short and not being able to do anything about it.

The second is her issue with people being rewarded for losing weight.  I think she got nervous and didn't explain her point of view with accuracy.  I think that she doesn't like the fact that people who need to lose weight to be healthy are being rewarded for achieving their goals, instead of just having the fact that they are physically more healthy being their reward.  Why don't we reward people for overcoming alcoholism, or smoking, or any other habitual problem.  Being heavy may be a physical predisposition, but most of Dr. Phil's rewards have gone to people who have overcome the emotional problems associated with their overeating.  People who drink and smoke and do drugs have emotional problems associated with their addictions as well...how are they different from people who overeat and why aren't we rewarding them for overcoming their addictions like we do those people who are addicted to food to hide their emotional problems?

Melissa, there's nothing you can do about your height.  Be happy that you're a beautiful & healthy woman!

Love me, Love my dogs

Quote From: yorkielvr

Yorkies are a big responsibility.  They are more needy than other breeds of dogs.  That guy is lucky she is staying over his house at all.  I wouldn't leave my yorkies home alone all night.  I say...dump him and find someone who would support her love and devotion to her furbabies.
Amen!  I have 2 Italian Greyhounds (another needy breed).  I will not leave my dogs overnight alone.  I don't want to be with someone who won't accept my dogs and at least tolerate (without teasing me too much) about how I treat them.  They are dogs, but I will not give them up for any relationship...the only exception would be my future kids.  A couple I know of have a newborn who is allergic to dogs....so they of course have to find another home for the ba...I mean....uh.....dogs. <grin>  But that is the only exception.

Big Things Come in Small Packages!

I'm now 4' 9-1/2" (having shrunk over the years from 4' 11-3/4").  Melissa needs to grow up (no pun intended)!  It's what's inside that counts, not how tall, how thin, how big, etc. one is.  Being "tall" is measured in qualities such as kindness, consideration, empathy, generosity, etc., etc.  Even though I've shrunk over the years (I'm now 63 years old), I feel very "tall" in life, and enjoy each day to the fullest.  I hope Melissa can find peace within herself and be happy with who she is, for she is unique, just as each of us is.

Sex is a gift for all married people to enjoy - even into the older years. God bless this couple who have had the courage to step forward and say they need some help. Many of the younger set may not realize that many of us "old people" grew up in an era where information about sex was not discussed and every sex act was dirty and only necessary for procreation. Working out sexual difficulties within the marriage and encouraging them to discuss sex and their likes/dislikes is vital to maintaining a marriage. Better they learn to explore and discuss options than just resorting to a divorce and then he goes his merry way. Give them some encouragement and realize that you may find yourself in the same situation some day. Vanilla is a wonderful flavor. But people get tired of vanilla all the time and so flavors like chocolate, raspberry, banana, etc. have become popular. "Vanilla sex" is great, but raspberry or chocolate is great too. Variety is the spice of life.

Why dogs are better than men

Hehehe... Kinda Funny!!

You can train a dog

Dogs understand what "no" means

Dogs mean it when they kiss you

You can force a dog to take a bath

You are never suspicious of your dog's dreams

Middle-aged dogs don't feel the need to abandon you for a younger owner

Gorgeous dogs don't know they're gorgeous

Dogs will also sit in the car for ages while you shop

Dogs think you are a culinary genius

Dogs obsess about you as much as you obsess about them

Dogs never hog the remote control, and they never change channels when you leave the room

Dogs miss you when you're gone

Dogs feel guilt when they've done something wrong

Dogs do not have problems expressing affection in public

Dogs do not care whether you shave your legs

Dogs are easy to buy for

yup

Quote From: freshest83

Ummm... is it just me or did that young woman complaining about being little seem crazy? I dont think she has any clue what she is talking about AND I THINK MORE THAN ANYTHING SHE JUST WANTED TO BE ON TV. Its like she wanted to say something but had nothing to back it up. What a waste of time. There are REAL people out there with real issues.
that's the same thing i said..........

10/04 Ask Dr. Phil

Quote From: gusblack

Years ago, I started a men's discussion group at university. At one meeting in particular, I was surprised by a participant in the group who said that he believed that his girlfriend wasn't fully accepting of his sexuality unless she was willing to 'swallow'.The majority of the rest of us were rather incredulous at his self-centred attitude and suggested that he should try it himself sometime and see if he liked the taste/sensation !!!We told him that if he refused to try it himself, he shouldn't be expecting anyone else to do it.
Excellent!!!  I'm going to have to remember this one. :)
