Dr. Phil and his guests strike up heated conversations as they debate the latest hot topics. Should women give up their right to breastfeed their babies in public so other people don't feel uncomfortable? Will passing out condoms in schools prevent unwanted pregnancies or just send the message to kids that it's OK to have sex? And, is it acceptable for others to discipline your kids if they see them acting out in public, or should they just mind their own business? Dr. Phil weighs in on these controversial subjects. Share your thoughts, join the discussion.

Yes, this is America, and we can change from a repressive society to an open-minded society that rejects the artificial act of bottle-feeding (whenever possible) in favor of breast-feeding because as Americans we can become more informed and better educated as to the benefits of breast-feeding. We can teach our young boys and girls to revere all aspects of motherhood. We can teach young men to respect young girls regardless the clothing they wear. We can shun the idea that breasts are merely sexual objects for the use of men during sexual intercourse and open our minds to the idea that they were primarily created to feed our babies.

I really wasnt agreeing with their  point of veiw , just the fact that we live in america and my child has the right to eat.

I personaly feel that a child has every right to eat in public no matter if it's artificial or natural.  I am offended to see bottle-feeders however I would never make them go in the bathroom etc to eat. nor would I ask them to cover up the baby because the bottle offends me.
I agree with you.  I was just trying to make a point though.

I have been involved with working in the free clinic in my area and we went on the needle pick up in which heroin users would give us their needles and we would give them clean ones along with information on getting help. I am not saying that schools do it but a lot of social programs do give out free clean needles and I don't think anyone has started using Heroin because of it. People don't go "oh, I guess I don't have to worry about getting AIDS so let me stick a needle in my arm." It just doesn't happen. So why would someone start having sex simply because condoms are available? And a lot of kids are very intimidated to go to a drug store and buy condoms, especially if they live in a small town where everyone knows them. And condoms are expensive.
Yes I do know that public health programs give out clean needles as well as condoms- leave it to them, not the schools.

As a mother of 2 children I am for breastfeeding and bottle feeding. With my first child I tried breastfeeding for about 4 weeks but I was so sore from it and she had literally tore my nipples up. I tried everything to see if the problem could be corrected. I felt like a failure when I decided to bottle feed her. So when I had my second child I swore that I would breastfeed since I couldn't with my first. Well, this time it wasn't painful and it seemed so natural; but my second child was loosing weight drastically. So I went to the hospital where I had the child and spoke with a lactation consultant. She had hooked me up to a pump to see how much milk I was producing and I just wasn't producing enough. So I had to bottle feed, or my child wouldn't get the nourishment needed.

I feel that it's a right that a mother has to choose what is best for their child. Some women aren't just able to breastfeed and so they have to make the right choice for their child.

Not trying to make you feel bad, but it seems you got some bad advice. A pump is NEVER an accurate guage of how much milk you are producing (or how much baby is ingesting while nursing). And there are many ways to try to increase your output if you are having problems. I tell you this not to make you feel bad, but so if you have another child and want to try to bf, you have more knowledge to make it work. Here's a link for you (and anyone else interested)

I fully applaud you for trying, I'm just sorry your LC wasn't a better one.

I laughed when I saw your photo. I wonder if people will be able to look away if it offends them, or if they will write to Dr. Phil to try and have the pic removed! LOL

So should we also hand out needles just in case they want to try shooting up some herion so we can prevent them from getting AIDS?  Should we pass out free baggies of dope to ensure it isn't laced with anything or that they don't get shot in a drug deal gone bad?
Actually there is many places you can go to get free needles.
