I live in Oregon and am looking for any other Oregonian or even Washingtonian buddies to support, encourage, etc. in my weight loss journey.  Thanks!

Any Pacific Northwesters out there?

One more thing I forgot to add in my last post:

Figure out why you are using food as an emotional crutch. It was life-changing for me to finally see that food is meant to nourish my body, not my soul.

Dr. Phil's Ultimate Weight Solution addresses this. It is SO important to understand why you're trying to stuff your emotions and feelings with food. From August 2004 to May 2005, I gained 43 pounds because I was stuffing my stress, anger, sadness, with food. I've since discovered a better way to live my life and I am thankful for it.

Anxious to join the Pacific n. Westerners !

Hi all!   My name is Sharon.  My husband, Craig,  and  I live in Otis, Oregon (about 1 hour west of Salem).  I just logged on to join Dr. Phil's site and found this message board.

We both have about 70 pounds to lose.  We got the Ultimate Diet and workbook, by Dr. Phil and are beginning our journey together.   We both have been under a lot of stress that last couple of years.  Craig's mom and my dad both passed on last year, and our only child, Christopher, is  now in Iraq serving with the US Army 101st Division.

We am excited to find that there are other NWesterners that want to help each other.    We would be honored to join your group - if ya'll have us.

Blessings and Angel Hugs!

On the way to weight freedom

Hello to all!  I'm very new at this chat thing.  All I know is that I am from oregon, and I'm ready to loose this extra 65 lbs that I have on my body.  I just joined a gym for a month ( I won a free month) And I'm ready to go hard core to get this going.  I fugured in a month I can get a plan going.  I'm looking for anyone I can communicate with about this journey.  I worked out for an hour today.  Feeling good, I have lost 4 ponds this month.  I have been workig out at home since 1-1-06.

Thanks

I am fron oregon

I live in Oregon, the Great Northwest.

I am needing support for the last 6 weeks I have been on a plateau.  I was losing and have lost about 140 lbs, but now I am at a stand still.  I think I am starting to lose and then I go right back up.  I am getting really frustrated and discouraged.  I have decreased by caloric intake, and have increased exercise and still am not losing.  I know I am not at my goal, because I am still 200 + and still have a ways to go for me to have reached my goal.

Please, has anyone else experienced this.  How long can a plateau last???? I am getting so desperate, I am thinking about taking extra measures now, by using laxatives to purge what I do eat.

I need support and want to support other..

Hello recovery02

I also live in McMinnville. I need to walk but will not do it. I thought when I read you message perhaps we could help each other. I wrote hpeful as an emotion because if not for hope I would have given up on life long ago. I love McMinnville Oregon and hope not to many more people move here. I have been in the area for 49 years. When we came in 1956 the population was only 8000 or so. Hope to hear from you soon. My Dr. will be so happy if I start walking soon.

Dear stuck  at 200#

My name is Rosalyn, and I am here to tell you DO NOT USE THE EXTRA METHODS THAT YOU TALKED ABOUT. that is definately not good for you.

I have been on a Pateau for about 2 months now, thay would be one of the worse things you could do.

I started out at 194# and it has taken me a year to get down to 154#  with some Plateaus along the way. To take the weight off slowly is bar far the way to do it.

Take care.
