I work with families in the dhs system and it's tough.. I'm close to McAlester, OK.. and it is surprising how many generations this goes back..McAlester is known as Black Mac.. so sad.
I have considered backing away from my work because of the pain. I was abused as a child and it hurts too much for the little difference I am making.

I was physically abused by my mom and sexually abused by my dad. I have been married three times and my first ex-husband physically and sexually abused me. I am now in Oklahoma. I volunteer my time in helping children that have been abused. I am the CoFounder of the Organisation Called Guardians Of The Children in Oklahoma City. This might seem weird but, with me helping children it helps me-to know that Ihelp a child be able to go on with their life. No child should ever get abused. As GOC says" Dont let your silence drown out their cries.
