Quote From: bambie25 I feel that there should be more shows done on Amy and Natalee's disappearance (along with other missing persons as well).
I feel that we need to keep the public informed and keep them from forgetting missing people.
I feel that making the public more aware of there cases would help to find more missing people.
What about posting pictures of these missing people on billboards so people will take more notice? Because not everyone watches tv, listens to the news, reads the news paper, or checks out information like this on the internet. I just learned about the Amy Bradley case a little over a year ago and she has been missing for approximately 7 years. I happen to turn it on a channel that was airing about missing persons and one being Amy Bradley, this was just by chance that I seen this.
Some how the information, last known whereabouts, and most recent pictures of these people need to be made more public.
We need to get it out there so that there are more chances of finding these missing people.
Something has to be done!
We need to come up with an idea that will get this information out there for more people to see
especially in the areas where these people go missing.
I just can't stop thinking "what if that was me?" I would want to return home and be with my friends and family and catch up on all the things that I missed and I know my parents would be thinking the same. These families of the missing people must be going through hell just wondering if their children (or parents) are okay and wondering if they will ever see them again and the same the the person who is missing.
Maybe we should start feeding some ideas about how to make this more public??
What are your opinions on this??
I agree. We need to turn the heat up on these stories. Plaster the missing person's pictures all over where they were last seen and any other place where leads are found, and not just when it first happens. Amy might have been rescused long ago if the divers and sailor had seen her picture sooner. It is a tragedy that the ship's captain on the Rhapsody of the Seas did not want to risk upsetting the passengers over a missing person. Amy had only JUST gone missing. She was probably still on the ship and could have been found. I read somewhere that only the common areas and crew's quarters were searched-not every single cabin, and the family did not learn that until later on, when they had already gotten off the ship. If I were a passenger on that cruise, I would have gladly borne the inconvenience of a search and even helped if I could.
I remember hearing about Amy's disappearance way back when it first happened, but then after a few months, the story disappeared from the media. There have been at least a couple of people who saw Amy, and she reached out to them for help, or would have if she had not been prevented from doing so. Clearly she wanted to be rescued and reunited with her family. If she is still alive, I pray she has not given up hope of being found. I pray that she knows that her family have never stopped looking for her, even after all this time, and that there are other people out there who want her to be found and reunited with her family.
The same for Natalee, but Natalee's story seems to be dropping out of the spotlight now, too. That can be a death knell for a missing person's story because it falls out of the public's eye and attention.
There have also been a couple of missing persons from cruiselines this year alone. The newlywed man on the Mediterranean cruise (whom has likely been murdered), and just a week or so ago, a woman from another cruise. How long will their stories be fresh in our minds?
One of the problems with finding people who are missing is the cost involved in following leads. Unfortunately travel and information is not free for would-be rescuers. It would be great if all of the authorities involved cooperated and worked together to find missing people, but obviously that is not the case.
Okay, I've rambled on long enough, I suppose, but yes, I agree. We need to find a way for these stories to stay fresh in people's minds, even as long as almost 8 years or more after someone's disappearance. If Amy and Natalee are still alive, we all owe it to them to keep looking, keep praying and never give up until they are found. Here are some links that may help:
