Eighteen-year-old Natalee Holloway disappeared early last summer during a senior class trip to the island of Aruba. On a recent show, Dr. Phil joined the search for the missing teen and broke new ground in the case. He called for a boycott of Aruba and put his own investigators on the trail. Now, two months later, Natalee's mother feels there is a strong chance her daughter is still alive. Hear, for the first time ever, the evidence she reveals to Dr. Phil. Also, learn how effective the boycott is and why a pair of Dr. Phil's rescuers found themselves in need of a rescue.  Plus, Natalee's disappearance bears similarities to the case of another young woman who went missing in the same region. Meet the parents of Amy Bradley and see what strong evidence has them holding onto hope that their daughter is still alive.  Join the discussion.

Find out what happened on the show.

What a nightmare

First of all I'd like to thank Dr.Phil for caring about Natalee, Amy and about the girls that suffer from the sex slave industry.  Today's show really shook me up.  As a sociology graduate having studied social problems and considering myself aware of social policies, I was greatly disturbed.  I thought I knew that the world had problems but the segment on the 18 year old sex slave that had a nail to her brain was the most disturbing thing I had heard of in a long time.  How can this still be happening in our world today? How can a child get captured for 10 years and be tatooed to show her ownership?  Talk about having to be grateful for everything we have in life, living in a country, where police for the most part is not corrupt and actually tries to protect.  No country is perfect but as a Canadian, I'm sure not going to Aruba anytime soon.  I feel so much for the families of Natalee and Amy and for everything that these girls have gone through and are possibly still enduring.  My heart goes out to them.  How unimaginable to have to live through that.  I have to say that this show has been the most touching show I've seen of Dr.Phil's, so much so that I had to sign up to do some cathartic writing so I could go to sleep tonight.  I am very happy however to see Dr.Phil really helping and I wish the families the best.  I have hope that the future holds answers.  I hope that we grow as citizens of the world by making ourselves aware of these horrific things happening.  Ignorance might feel like bliss, but it sure doesn't solve anything.  Therefore I thank Dr.Phil for enlightening me and I wish his hard working team the best and everyone who cares out there about these girls, I believe there is power in collective thinking and believing.  I look forward to the next show, hoping for the best that come out of these bad situations.  Peace

boycott

Quote From: natia77

PEOPLE ARE DISSAPEARING ËVERYDAY"IN THE UNITED STATES AND LITTLE KIDS ARE BEING RAPED AND MURDERED EVERY DAY, SHOULD WE BOYCOTT THE U.S. TOO?

PLEASE DON'T BE SUCH HYPOCRITES!!!!!

I dont think a boycott of the US is necessary but if the US would stop letting in so many foreigners into our country then we would all be better off.   It is because we are the land of the free that everyone comes here, no need to boycott us -- but if your own countries are so great then just stay there.

using our brains

Quote From: mpierre

Not to worry... we will still go to Aruba and enjoy your beautiful Island and white sandy beaches.  There is crime all over and mature smart people are aware of it.  We all just need to use our brians when we travel anywhere  in the ENTIRE WORLD.

Good thing you'll be using your "brians".  Of course there's crime everywhere.  What was the point to mention you're still going to Aruba?  Why rub it in the face of people who are hurt?  So just so you know, there's other beautiful islands and sandy beaches, but then, you know that cause you use your "brian", and not your heart.

question

Quote From: ashleygurl

I CANT STOP THINKING ABOUT THE POOR GIRLS OVER THERE AND HERE WITH HUMAN SEX TRAFFICING.  ITS HORIBLE TO ME AS A WOMEN TO THINK THAT MEN FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD DO THIS.  IT MAKES ME SO PISSED OFF.  I WANT TO DO SOMTHNING ABOUT THIS NOW.  IT CANT WAIT.  TO THE MEN THAT HAVE THE GIRLS:........ WE ARE COMING...... WE ARE GETTING CLOSER........THIS WILL NEVER GO AWAY........... EVER...

who are you?  I see you're sympathy, but quit being so ignorant.  I've been to Aruba.  It's a small place with very friendly people.  What happened was sad, but this doesn't suddenly mean, this is like a bad place.  I pray not only for the Hollaway family, but also for the Aruban people.  As a christian, you need to be forgiving, not filled with hate.  So, what that said, I pray for you.

Lets hope these cases get solved peacefully.

In my humble and honest opinion.....

Dr. Phil:

Instead of using the resources you've dedicated to finding Natalie and Amy you should hire a paramilitary force to infiltrate, stun, rescue and then raze the brothel to the ground. I realize we like to play on the higher ground, but how many more women are going to have to live a life of desperate slavery before our own government will send in the CIA (or whatever the off-shore tax-paying citizen protection agency is called....if there even is one?) and get these girls out? We've tried (and failed) to assassinate Hugo Chavez which proves we have our ways and means into the country, but until it is an oil heiress that is the one being rendered like animals to circus freaks the White House isn't going to do squat about it. (I'm not trying to start a Bush bashing line here, this is my opinion and I'd prefer you use your own space to share your opinion, not in response to me).

My emote-icon says I'm frustrated, truthfully I'm pissed off. After you signed off the show I changed to my local ABC station because the Nightly News follows your show and I didn't want to be inundated with reports of the rash of stabbing, shootings, thievery and my mom wanted to watch Primetime Live because she thought CSI was just too violent. At least on CSI you know the blood is fake. On Primetime Live they had a report about the crime rate on university campuses. Of the robberies, car jacking, thefts, stalking and so on, most of the violence was being focused on women. Yes, it's bad that three thugs beat up a fellow student before they took his wallet but it sort of paled in comparison to the girl that was stalked, struck down by a brick and when she tried to run away with a gushing head wound the non-student criminal pounced on her again and with each blow to her ripped the future she can no longer remember away from her and now has her on a path of mental and physical challenges she will have the rest of her life and will probably never catch sight of the goals she had before the attack. And yet, that even pales in comparison to the other girl that was attacked by, again two non-students, that wandered into her dorm room, raped, beat, stabbed, sprayed with hairspray and burned her alive. Though her still smoking body made it alive to the Emergency room, she didn't last very long. I'm bringing this up because of the continued attack on women, even here on our home soil, women are still treated as the second or third class citizen (depends on if there's a truck in the family). We, as women, fought so hard for equality that it has been forgotten that we are still weaker, not in the intellectual, oppressive way a lot of men (and even some misguided women) would have us believe. We are physically weaker in a fight unless we are trained to use that weakness (which most women aren't), but strong in endurance as my mom is fond of saying "I'd like to see a man give birth". Until we stop using kindness as a weapon to ameliorate our way with strangers, hoping that by saying "please" and "thank you" we won't piss them off enough to want to hurt us and believing that our intellectual prowess, quick reflexes...so on and so on, will save us in the moment women will still be the most damaged and most sought after victim of violence. Crime against women isn't about pissing off the perverts and the low impulse control pimples that wander the streets looking for a target, the fact is once you become a target, for any reason, because of a woman’s vulnerability she will probably become a victim of some crime in her life. Women are beautiful, vital, contributing members of society. I've always have seen the roles of men and women as symbiotic in nature. The hunter/gatherer the nurturer. (and I'm not using these terms as gender specific roles, some men are better at nurturing and some women have the shark teeth to bite through any form of Yummy Yellow to provide for her family). How depressing and sad the world would be if all women had to shutter themselves up in a windowless house, dress to hide their beauty, and be afraid of retribution for speaking to a man she didn't know.

My heart aches for Amy and Natalee, but my heart also aches for the other daughters, American, Canadian, German, Swedish, Norwegian, Italian, Asian that are trapped in these dens with dragons. This isn't mentioning the women that are being smuggled into the US for the same purpose. Your investigators found that one brothel, they have contacts for many more I'm sure. Why not dish out some good-old-fashioned American Justice and take them down. Capture the men behind it and drop them off on an island somewhere and let them play with their own coconuts for the rest of their lives. I'm not advocating killing here it is not my place to play executioner on this earth, but it's obvious they aren't EVER going to play by our rules, it's time to play by some of theirs. That's all I'm saying.

Sorry for the ranting, running a slight fever and not feeling well, so I guess you're getting some of the bile. However, though I didn't say it in the beginning, you're doing a great job with keeping the spotlight on Natalee and bringing the realities of the world to an all to sheltered population.  I hope and pray your efforts will bring the outcome the world is waiting for.

are you serious

Quote From: natia77

this REALLY MAKES FOR A NICE STORY, EVEN A MAKE FOR TV MOVIE.

IN REGARDS TO YOUNG WOMEN BEING FORCED INTO THE SEX TRADE AND SOLD AS SLAVES HERE IN ARUBA IS COMPLETELY LUDICROUS.  There are so many beautiful Latin American ladies and young girls that would do anything to get off the streets from mostly Colombia and get the Visa necessary to work as a legal prostitute here on the island for 3 months.  In the ABC islands and the rest of the Dutch Kingdom and Holland, and quite a few states in the US this is legal.  Here on the island the rules are a little more strict than mainland Holland, but you need to pass all the necessary exams and if selected for a Visa and this 3 months permit you are only permitted to work in a specific Red District Bar which all of them are at one end of the island by the ex Exxon Refinery, now a Valera one, .  These ladies are checked every week by the doctors and need to leave the island in 3 mo. when their permits expire.

Now to say that Nathalee was abducted in Aruba and be sold into sex trade is not true.   It is my personal believe that the Dutch boy and the tree Surinamese brothers are responsible for her being missing.  But in any case the sex trade is very much regulated and very  sought after by LA girls mostly Colombians and Venezuelans,    .  Now if you open any yellow pages in the US you will see many massage parlors with drug addicts prostituting and spreading VD's UN regulated.

That is why I say the comment by Mr. Sherlock 007 here will make for a good story, which he will find right in his back yard.

Dr. Phil please be objective in your pursuit of  Nathalee and or ratings.  I hope, and everyone in Aruba wants this case to be solved.  You do not need to destroy a whole island nation doing that.

It is not fair for anyone involved or not.

go to google.com and type in human trafficking, or even just ,sex trade. you cannot truely believe that women and children are not being kidnapped and sold into slavery. it is most certinly going on in aruba, it is happening everywhere!!!!!!, this is not a new business, it has only become new news.

as far as your plug for the regulation of prostitution, we are not outraged by regulated prostitution, we are not outraged by legal prostituton, WE ARE OUTRAGED THAT WOMEN AND CHILDREN ARE BEING KIDNAPPED AND FORCED INTO THE SEX INDUSTRY.  THESE CHILDREN AND ABUSED AND DEGRADED, FORCED TO ENDURE HORROR AFTER HORROR.

NOT ONLY SHOULD WE BOYCOTT ARUBA, WE SHOULD BOYCOTT THE OTHER ISLAND AS WELL. WE SHOULD BOYCOTT ALL THE CRUISE LINES THAT ARE REGISTERED THERE. UNTIL THEY BECOME ACCOUNTABLE.  THE ARUBIANS SHOULD GO TO THEIR GOVERNMENT AND DEMAND THAT ACTION BE TAKEN AND NOW.

there are MANY women and  young girls that go missing off of cruise ships. and i am absolutely positve that there are crew members of those ships that are not only involved, but they are covering it up.

True in some respect

Quote From: souporrfly

Granted you have a few valid points but DO NOT lump all Marines and Military members in the same group that "fund the brothels" . I am also a Military wife and proud to be one. You should think twice about throwing out such derogatory and offensive accusations about our men and women in uniform. All the Marines I know are fine moral human beings with more courage than I will ever have.

You are correct that there are some fine moral men and women in uniform but there is alot who are not. I cant tell you how many female soldiers return from Iraq pregnant or with std's. I know for a fact that about 80% of the people who deploy screw around. That is the unfortunate reality. For them they honestly dont think about these women and the circumstances that put them where they are. I live on a marine base and if you think that all the marines you know are fine moral humans. You are either very new, or not very social.  However I must say that you were correct about the courage and sacrifice these men make for us all. I am sure that if anyone saw Natalie or Amy and realized who they were they would do their level best to rescue them.

Possible Motive to Sell Natalie Into Slavery

I am just a little 59 year old grandmother from Charleston, SC, but not long after Natalie disappeared, I sent email to several friends and family members who share my interest in the case.  In this email, I told everyone that I thought Natalie had been abducted into sex slavery.   For one thing, I noted, that Joran Van der Sloot was often driven to go gambling locations by his father.  It seems entirely possible to me, that given the type of people that come and go at Carlo's and Charlie's, Joran had run up a gambling debt he could not pay.  It would seem to me if he could furnish a drug lord/pimp with a young beautiful blond, it would pay him out of debt.  I think Joran and his father (not leaving out the Kalpoes), are sleezy enough for this to be entirely possible.  I hope that those conducting a search down this avenue will take the upmost care, because if Natalie is in fact alive (and I believe she is or she would have been found), one would not want her to die at the hands of her abductors as searchers move closer to finding her.  I have never thought of myself as a psychic, but I have a long history of my hunches turning out to be right.  At age 7, I even forcasts my own grandmother's death right after the hospital sent our family home as they stated she had passed a crisis and was getting better.  I have a real gut feeling that Natalie is alive.

Natalie

If Natalie is alive,  which I believe she is.... .

SOMEONE KNOWS WHERE THIS YOUNG GIRL IS. SOMEONE HAS TO KNOW SOMETHING. COME FORWARD!!!!

DR. PHIL IS ON HIS WAY AND WILL FIND NATALIE. SOME OF THE TOP INVESTIGATORS ARE AFTER THESE SUPPOSED KIDNAPPERS AND WILL FIND THEM.

SOMEONE KNOWS SOMETHING!  WE DON'T KNOW EVERYTHING AND THE TRUTH WILL EVENTUALLY COME OUT AND THESE HORRIBLE PEOPLE WILL BE SEVERELY PUNISHED.

I will continue to pray for Natalie and her family and Amy and all of the other girls who have been abducted.

C'mon America. We came together for 9/11. We came together for the hurricanes. We can do this too. Many of our own citizens could be being sold and abused as we speak.  Can you imagine how afraid these young girls must be??  Come together. Boycott, write letters, many letters, talk to people you know. Let's do this to prove to these sicko's that they can't mess with the red, white, and blue.
