Eighteen-year-old Natalee Holloway disappeared early last summer during a senior class trip to the island of Aruba. On a recent show, Dr. Phil joined the search for the missing teen and broke new ground in the case. He called for a boycott of Aruba and put his own investigators on the trail. Now, two months later, Natalee's mother feels there is a strong chance her daughter is still alive. Hear, for the first time ever, the evidence she reveals to Dr. Phil. Also, learn how effective the boycott is and why a pair of Dr. Phil's rescuers found themselves in need of a rescue.  Plus, Natalee's disappearance bears similarities to the case of another young woman who went missing in the same region. Meet the parents of Amy Bradley and see what strong evidence has them holding onto hope that their daughter is still alive.  Join the discussion.

Find out what happened on the show.

Why is it that on their web site they are advertising a 8 year Anniversary Celebration.  Are you trying to cover the truth up to, by pretending that the administration of Carlos and Charlie don't even know how many years they are celebrating in business in your lovely ARUBA!!!

Check out there web site, and STOP defending your crappy government.  Use your energy to replace the cartel that is using their powers to prevent open investigations, and cover up so many material facts. Shame on you. Be truthful or get off.

You said it best, STOP defending your crappy government.  Use your energy to replace the cartel that is using their powers to prevent open investigations, and cover up so many material facts. Shame on you. Be truthful or get off.

I totally agree with you (on this and just about everything else on here).  You obviously are intelligent (and a caring father) and do your homework before spouting off nonsense. LOL

Thanks for the input, from someone who appreciates it.  :)

11/17 The Search for Natalee and Amy

Quote From: tyrantkay

What will this solve?  Do you think that putting women and children out of bread will make Natalee simply appear?  I find it very arrogant of Americans to boycott traveling to a country just because they can't have their way.  What would you have the Aruban government do?  Arrest and convict men who they have no condemning evidence against.  Isn't the American justice system founded on the age old belief  that a man is innocent until proven guilty?  How can a country that releases convicted pedophiles in record time with just a slap on the wrist, cast stones against another.  Oh Please!!!

Well I did get many replies and it seem that I have hit a few nerves.  If you have a bad meal in a restaurant do you complain or just leave the restaurant and not come back. Is the waitress going to loose her job? I am sure we can argue this subject forever.

By the way.. I am not American

Missing Amy Bradley and Natalie Halloway

19 Nov 05

First in reference to Amy Bradley.  I have watched your show.  I watched the documentary with the Royal Carrribean cruise and the detail story about it.  What stands out was the fact that the Captain and crew did not treat this situation as an emergency, once they realized Amy Bradley went missing.  I was under the impression that the Captain of any vessel is responsible for its crew, ship and passengers?  Why was there not a court hearing "maritime law" regarding the Captains responsibility or irresponsibility during the time the girl went missing on his ship?  Why was this Captain not held to a higher standard when it's his job to ensure the safety of all passengers?  Why didn't the United States file a law suite and bring the crew and ship's Captain on the carpet and be held with some kind of accountability of the events that took place on his ship?

Why was it so important that he brought his ship into port when he could of just as easily anchored and checked the entire ship for the missing girl before entering the carribean port.  I think the investigation should focus on the ships Captain and crew and that bar & grill "charlies and carlos.  This sounds very reckless for a Captain whos job is to protect the passengers.

I believe the Royal Carribean cruise line owes the Bradley family answers, they should be spending the money and finding the missing girl.  It was there responsiiblity to ensure the safety of all passengers and that included Amy Bradley!

In reference to Natalie Halloway  -  How sad it is for an 18 year old girl to visit a Carribean Island for a vacation after finishing High School.  A week later go missing just before leaving to go home.  The Island of Aruba should be ashamed.  Who failed Natalie Halloway?  I think she may have made some bad choices but her guardians that went with her on the trip should have taken the extra steps to ensure her safety.   Has every house, home, business, oil refinery, all beaches, all caves, all sites on the island been checked?

Why was there not a two person rule?  Meaning why didn't Natalie have a friend with her, that in itself might of deterred anyone from abducting her?  Why didn't the guardians ensure that nobody left on their own?  (buddy system)

Our prayers are with both families.  Our hearts can feel the strain of a loved one that went missing and I still think that we have a State Department that could be doing more to help find these girls.  What is the STATE DEPARTMENT doing?

Amy Bradley and Natalee Holloway connection

Clarification

Eventhough I have read a lot of comments that makes me feel angry, I don't want to attack anyone with my comments because that just ain't my nature. I just want to make clear to all of you who, thanks to the dr. Phill show, now has a complete ironic view of our beloved island of Aruba.

The Aruban culture has very strong morals and values, we are very educated and devoted people to God.

Here in Aruba we DO NOT tolerate any kind of slavery or abuse, much less for children to be used for sexual purposes. I have NEVER EVER heard of any Aruban girls nor foreign girls being used as sex slaves here in Aruba. Even more, I have NEVER heard of any girl who went missing on the island, except this isolated case. That's why the Natalee case struck our community so hard because it was the first time something like this happend and everyone of us was immediatly willing to help in the search. (Amy Bradley went missing on a cruise ship entering the port of Curacao. I feel that the cruise ship should be held responsable here)

I have followed a lot of stories of children being abducted and later being found raped and murdered not only in America but also in other countries. I've cried a lot with these stories and pray for my children and all the children of the world to be save and I thank God these horrific things aren't happening in Aruba. We are living in the 21st century and these things shouldn't happen to our children.

As a women and a mother I unit myself in the grief and sorrow of these mothers and families.

I was also very disturbed by the latest dr. Phil show. Apparently sex slavery is something that is really happening and it's definitly unacceptable.

I was also disturbed by the fact that the show made the audience believe that he footages used of the brothels were really taken here in Aruba, they were NOT! They were obviously taken in some latin country as you could hear them speak spanish.

I urge dr. Phil to be honest and true to himself and to his audience and tell us where these footages has been taped and that you don't have any proof of sex slavery going on here in Aruba. If you, dr. Phil, have any information of any brothels where sex slaves are being held against their will here in Aruba, please post the addresses so I can go and see them for myself. As you know Aruba is very small and it's very easy here to locate any address. I can hardly imagine that sex slavery could go unnoticed in such a small community, that's why I dare to say: Aruba has no sex slavery ! First, it doesn't fit in our culture and second, we wouldn't tolerate it.

These stories are sad enough for us to be here attacking and fighting each other; we are getting nowhere!

None of us Arubans, none of you Americans are entitled to judge one another. The only one who has the power to judge is the One above who we all believe in. Let Him be the judge!

I do believe in God and one of his theachings says: 'Pay good with good, bad with good'.

This is why I don't believe in a boycott. As you Americans are grieving, we are grieving with you not only for the missing girls but also for all the tragedy that has struck you lately such as the 9/11 an Katrina.

I would say let's pray to God for the save return of all the missing children and adults, for strenght to cary on wathever comes in our way and especially for PEACE on earth, after all we share the same planet.

God bless Aruba and God bless America

Amy and Natalee

I have had such bouts of deep, emotional prayers for these girls since the airing of the show.  I can't imagine how such awful stuff is allowed to happen - I can't imagine why God would let this be.  I am so ashamed that my life is centered around myself and my needs and my family and their needs when there are so many in this world that need God's attention. - for life - for safety - for the end of pain, disease, and torture...I guess it goes on and on and always has and always will.

It makes me ask God "why?"  Why can't the bad guys just hurt each other? What makes human beings so cruel - so sick - so hateful - so full of violence and greed?  And, what can we do to stop it?  What is our role to really - truly - make a better world?

I am in such pain for those girls and their families.  And, for others like them.  And, for those who are starving, sick, cold, hungry....so I can feel really crappy about being warm, full and happy.  And it goes on and on and on....I really just don't know what to do.

I pray ferverently that God listens to our prayers - that He shows us that He really does know what He is doing and is in absolute control - and that we don't need to understand but trust Him - but boy! it sure is hard these days.

11/17 The Search for Natalee and Amy

Quote From: bookworm20

Americans to go soliciting for sex in other countries from minors?
No.  Read the strand again.  I am talking about things I can do to keep my children and myself safe, and arguing that they are safer in this country under my care than in another country without me there with them.  Your question is about a different topic.  However, for the record, no, it's not ok.  It's disgusting and sick.

11/17 The Search for Natalee and Amy

Quote From: jeneby77

While I understand Dr. Phil & the audience's wish to help in this case, I believe boycotts & sensationalism are not the way to go.

1st - boycotts only hurt the local workers trying to make a living at resort locations.  Just look at any country that the US has an embargo against, you'll see that the most marginalized people only suffer more, it does nothing to hurt those in power.

2nd - do you think it's a coincidence that this show aired during "NOVEMBER SWEEPS"????  The sensationalism of this family's suffering is ridiculous!!!

And puhleeze - sex slavery????  sure it happens - I'm a feminist PhD student - I *know* what sexual tourism is but:  1)  those "sold" into sex slavery are usually the poorest citizens of worst-off countries - not privileged white US citizens -- did you heart not go out to the various Latina young women that were paraded out for the white "undercover" men?  Somehow those women do not seem to count...

 2)  the most frequent visitor to red-light districts & brothels are men on vacation from the West.  In other words, it is usually white businessmen from the US, Canada & Europe who seek the services of young, particularly Asian & Latina women.  We should hold our local neighbours accountable for propping up the industry....

3)  someone else on the board mentioned sex slaves for the military.  When the US went into Iraq, local Iraqi's set up red-light zones & "comfort women" for US troops..... look it up.  This is a fact of militarism -- research the Korean comfort women to see what I mean.

4)  sexual trafficking also happens INTO the US.  Go to the Oprah boards to see a show she did recently on this.  **EVERY** city has young girls that were brought in from elsewhere (often Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe & South America) --- it is in our backyards people!!

5)  This situtation - if true - is SOOO rare (white American girls sold into brothels).  It is not a phenomenon.  We should pay *more* attention to the horrific numbers of young women missing on the US - Mexico border - over 350 girls & women (!!!) have gone missing and not enough of you know/care about that!!!  (see amenesty international or type in "missing women" + Juarez into a google search to find out more)  Further, see the Sisters in Spirit campaign about the 500+ (!!!) Native Canadian women that have gone missing here in Canada.

My point???   Let's focus our attention (GOD KNOWS how much Natalee Holloway has been in the news...) on the, tragically & astonishingly large numbers of women missing in marginalized communities.  These are not stories you see on CNN or Dr. Phil.  I know you'all are well-meaning people, but please don't fall for this misguided attempt to help.

The point is we, Canadians and Americans, are the source of the customers for this trade.  The money an American businessman spends on a whore in Venezuela is what pays for abductions and enslavement. That is the root cause of this problem, not the hotel workers in Aruba.

The Canadian government has made it illegal to use children for sex anywhere in the world.  If a Canadian goes to a brothel in Thailand and uses one of their children, he can be charged when he returns home.  The law has been upheld and there have been convictions.  If the other countries passed the same law and if we poured some resources into investigation, the trade would significantly be reduced because the market would be shattered.

SORRY CBS DID NOT REPLAY THE SHOW!

Quote From: franlove

Dear Dr. Phil,

Thank you so much for not only your show on Natalee Holloway but also your true concern. I have followed this case since day one and have followed it daily online as well as on television.  I am most anxious to see your show on the 17th.

God Bless you,

franlove in alabama

DEAR DR. PHIL AND STAFF;

I am so sad that CBS did not replay the Hollaway/Bradley show at night in the Chicagoland area. They ran a different show instead. I do not know who's decision this was, or why. In any case it is a show that merited a re-lay. The show they ran was on cheating spouses instead.

Then I figured, perhaps the re-plays at 12:35 CST were a day behind, so I again taped it, but no. There was no RE-Play of the very important show.  Can someone on your staff let us know what happened. I would appreciate it.

Thank you, you guys are doing a GREAT job.

11/17 The Search for Natalee and Amy

Quote From: awiakta55

I hope for the family of both, that Dr. Phil's investigation will help both young women to be found.

I hope you know that what comes around goes around.

We have to pay now because you Americans suffer from MAJOR dellusions of granduer!!!

The truth is we are just as guilty as you are for choosing the same government twice! And just the same as here(your government)President Bush could not change the outcome in Michael Jackson's trial nor could the government involved change the verdict in OJ Simpson's case. Alabama has about 300 hundred missimg unresolved cases!

One thing I know  for sure is don't wish upon others what you don't want to be done to you, so now I realize that you guys are just plain evil AND jeaulous because you will NEVER have what we have here in ARUBA!

PEACE OF MIND!
