The lights are low, the champagne is flowing and Dr. Phil's singles party continues, teaching women how to weed out the bad boys and find Mr. Right. Four women who say they can't be themselves when they're around guys are taped as they candidly speak about dating and what they're looking for in a mate. What they don't know is that they are actually being watched by men whom they will later meet. Find out what the men think about these ladies! Next, one of the women gets a special makeover from Robin, and a pep talk from Dr. Phil. Will she be able to earn herself a second date when she's armed with a secret weapon? Then, Dr. Phil sends single women to "target-rich" environments. Some are armed with tips for meeting men, while others have to survive on their own. Which group of women will meet men and even get phone numbers? Plus, test your knowledge and see how well you know men. If you're ready to be a bride instead of a bridesmaid, you don't want to miss Dr. Phil's advice! Join the discussion.

Find out what happened on the show.

Feeling ignored

So, I suppose no one has any thoughts on my first post?

I would like to see more help for men who aren't good at dating I agree, but I think one of the reasons that we really haven't seen any examples of men asking for help is generally we are too ashamed to ask.

Love Smart

You can't weed out the "bad boys" from the keepers if you can't find the keepers.  Where do you meet the handsome, successful gentlemen - especially if you're over 50?   Unless you're willing to move, it seems impossible!  And I don't want a man who says "Dr. Phil?  What does he know?".  I want someone who thinks the show is worth watching.  I have dated so many guys who refuse to watch the show.  I'm convinced these men have security issues.  They close the door on even talking about relationships.  I want a man who is willing to talk about the topics that Dr. Phil covers.

Question for Katrina

Quote From: ugokat

I am married now... but this so reminds me of them ol dating days and I started laughing... My girlfriend and I use to go to Firestations and ask for help with training to become firefighters to meet men... HAAA HAAA HAAAA but they would invite us for dinner, walk us around the station, invite us to dinners etc.... We vsited oh maybe 3 or 4 in our surrounding cities... it was fun and we got Great Food!!!!

So Ladies... just an Idea????? Have fun, be confident and try... try to be yourself as much as you can.

Good Luck,

Katrina

So Katrina, how did you ultimately find your husband?  At the fire station?????  I need all the suggestions I can get!  By the way, I'm an "older" woman - 52 to be exact!  These young girls think they have problems!

Put your best foot forward

Dr. Phil missed one target-rich environment --- the SHOE SHINE parlour!    Discover it for yourself.  If nothing else, you come away looking great, and can have a great time connecting with others personally or professionally in the 6 or 7 minutes it takes, plus any waiting time.  Check out the line-ups, and jump in.  LADIES; we've been missing out for too long!   If your check list includes that he or she be well-groomed, the shoes say it all.  If they are clean and polished, chances are so too are other areas of our lives.  It won't hurt your career either.  I was once told that "like Palm Pilots and cell phones, clean shoes are a Power Accessory".

You're right !

Quote From: lauren26

I can't tell you how appauled I was after watching Love Smart. It made it seem as though women are the only ones who make mistakes when it comes to dating. You put a group of men to spy on women, then judge and criticize them. Why wasn't it looked at from both sides of the spectrum. I am sure that the group of women could have found a few things wrong with  the men. It seemed as though women should change to get a men, while the men don't have any problems. I  thought society was working steadily towards beating sexism , but this episode made me realize that patriarchy still dominates. Dr. Phil, I challenge you to host an episode that focuses  equally on men and women's dating dilemmas!
I also noticed, what is so special about these guys? Who says they are "it"? I agree, us guys need all the help we can get. I hope Dr. Phil lets me be on his on-line dating show, wow do I have some stories to share! Some good, some, "my bad", oops! I wish to be reincarnated as a beautiful girl, the world is at your "French-tip fingernails"!!!

Not 10 to 1 in Scottsdale, AZ

Quote From: rockstarxx

Good grief, girls can go anywhere and meet guys, where can guys go to meet girls, where the guys are not outnumbering the girls 10 to 1? Do you women just sit at home? Give me a break, it is a womans world. Well, a pretty womans world. God help all the uglie's and us not tall, not so rich men.
Not all cities have this attractive ratio.  Where do you live?  Maybe I should visit!  :-)

You are partly right.

Quote From: dalgal23

My name is Dallas, and although I am married and really dont have barings in this dicussion I do want to comment on the "Super Model" that was on the show yesterday. I took offense to her comment about how she was blessed with being attractive....To me shes saying because shes thin and former miss this and miss that, that those types of people are the only ones who are attractive. I am not Miss Canada and a FAR cry from it, I defently am packing some extra baggage, but does that mean Im not blessed with Beauty?
Dallas
I didn't think she was "all that". And when she said she would go out with that creep again, just made me realize how shallow she really is. I mean, come on, had to be 'cause he said he was a Doc. Right?

Match.com

Quote From: deborac

Just want you all to know that Match.com DOES work!!!  I met my dear hubby there 8 years ago.  We're both in our 40's now and between us have a total of five kids!  His, mine and ours!!  We've adopted two little boys, age 4 and 2 months, both at birth.  Don't give up, MATCH.com is amazing.....just remember there are alot of frogs out there before you get to your potential prince too.

So I'm wondering, did someone have to move or did you find someone in your home town?

Living Single in a Rural area

OK so seen the show but the places you give for meeting men is set for a bigger city where i live the only places to meet men are the bars and i am really tired of that scene. mainly cause i am tired of dealing with drunks. i am a single mother of 2 kids and really do not want my kids around a drunk. maybe i am looking in the wrong area but there is not a lot of areas to meet them here in the hicks. and the closest big city to me is 2 hours away. so what about the girls in the hicks? do i have to go to a bigger city to find a decent guy or am i just being to picky?
