(Original Air Date: 12/12/05) You may have heard, "If something is too good to be true, it probably is." Dr. Phil's guests learned this lesson the hard way. Sandra thought she was marrying a bachelor with whom she would spend the rest of her life. What she didn't know was that she was being conned, and that when she tied the knot, she would be wife number seven! See what happens when Sandra and wife number six get together. Why is Dr. Phil concerned with the way they are coping with their pain? Then, when Coni met Paul, he claimed he owned a business, had a Ph.D. and was an Air Force Major. But the life he detailed was all a big lie. Now that Coni has put her husband behind bars, she fears he's plotting revenge. What does Dr. Phil think? Plus, a former FBI profiler shares the signs to look for so you don't become a con man's next target. Talk about the show here.

Find out what happened on the show.

12/12 Conned by a Con Artist

Quote From: stressed38

I'm married to a real con artist who preys on women who make a decent living.  he goes from woman to woman, uses them, then goes to the next.  he's a drug addict, sex addict and gambling addict.  he needs to be stopped and I need help to stop him so that he destroys no more.   what do I need to do.  who can I go to.  who can help.  I am seeking divorce and he is seeking to destroy me even more than he has.  help please

con "artist"?

i recall hearing someone say that to call a con man (or woman) an "artist" was giving them too much good will, way too flattering.....it demeans the meaning of the words "art" and "artist".....the con operator should not be given such credit for it only bolsters their false image of themselves as someone who is just doing what the victim is asking for.
actually, con operators prey upon the best morals and ideals of honest people....things like wanting to have a happy marriage, be a good, loving wife, or husband, make sure money is not being stolen, and so on and so forth.  when the con operator is glorified as an "artist" it appears that the person he preys upon "asked for it".  we all know of countless other examples of victims being blamed for the crime. so criminals are not responsible for what they choose to do, they are just "set up" to do criminal acts by vicitms inviting them to do so?  i think that is a "con" also.
they whole thing is, you shouldn't have to apologize or put yourself down for your principles.

HELP!!I've been CONNED BY A CONMAN!!!

Last May 2004, I married my husband Mr. A.  Although we were married only briefly, Mr. A managed to use my good credit history to accrue approximately $50,000 in debt. Mr. A used my name and my credit because he had previously declared bankruptcy. Since we were married, he was able to accumulate debt in my name.

A few months a go, I learned that Mr. A was not only married to someone else, but had that mine was his sixth (6) marriage. I also found out that when he left me in August 05, he moved in with an employee he was having an affair with, and is now engaged to her and we are still married!  And get this...last week I called the new gal to warn her...(wished I was given a call) and she doesn't believe me.  His sister lied for him the entire time we were married, and I found out all this from my sister in-law in Colorado who is the only sane person in the family.  I wish I was able to be on this show to explain what has happened to me, and to warn other's that no matter how kind, homely, short and fat...he is...once a conman always a conman.  I thought I was safe because I was his trophy wife and he was a troll.

I am wondering about the experiences of women who had relationships with Con Men.  I am wondering if the con man they were involved with conned their friends behind their backs as well?
