Do you believe that walking under a ladder or someone giving you the "evil eye" can give you bad luck? Dr. Phil's guests say that curses and evil spirits are wreaking havoc in their lives. Sarah is convinced that she's hexed. For the last five years, she has been plagued with what she calls the "Tuesday Curse." Watch what happens when Dr. Phil's producers follow her around on her "unlucky" day. Then, George is convinced he is reaping the negative effects of a curse put on his family years ago in Mexico. He has even put his wedding plans on hold because he fears the curse will cause him to divorce! Plus, David worries that his wife, Holly, may be possessed because she has had the same nightmare for the past seven years, and she has been talking in a man’s voice, speaking in a foreign tongue and barking like a dog. What's behind her fearsome dreams? And, a woman claims an exorcism, performed by her father 26 years ago, put demons inside of her.  Share your thoughts.

Lucid dreaming

I have not read this entire thread, from what I did see I didn't see anything about lucid dreaming.  I'm not the next Dr. Phil and I don't have all the answers to the problems, but I believe that learning to lucid dream could possibly cure the people on today's show with the night terrors.  Having personally suffered from night terrors in the past, I know that its not a joking matter, that it can lead to insomnia and depression (did for me anyway).  I don't know if those people were cursed or not, I don't know very much about that, however, in my mind it would make sense that if they could learn to control their dreams then change the dream to something more pleasurable instead that they would be able to get a better nights sleep and "take back over their lives."  Instead of trying something that might work: something that doesn't have physical features or garaunteed results like the things involving sybolism that were talked about on the show, why not try something that is a little more factual and has more of a foundation for everybody, and not just those with "beliefs?"

Maybe this view will help!!

Some problems are psychological and some are spiritual this I believe is NOT the case.   Simply, because there is never a time when your mind, emotions, and will are not involved.  Normal beliefs or safe beliefs offer no help to those tormented by demonic influences.  I believe that their is help and when just positive thoughts or behavior patterns don't subdue the torment of the mind then it is time to call on the ultimate spiritual defence and that my friends is God almighty.  I do not offer religion, but I do offer Christ.  I will not offer one bondage for another; religion, occult , or any other form of deception to keep you imprisioned in fear and frustration.  I saw the show today and was saddend.  There is no such thing as carma, bad luck, but yes curses do exsist, but freedom does too.  The true freedom is Jesus and Jesus alone.  Seek deliverance though a spirit-filled church. Please if nothing gets though in this message, please don't entertain spirits, go to psychics, or rely on yourself to fight a spiritual battle, it is very dangerous.  When demonic influences are involved it makes sense to seek God, instead of the your enemies allies..

Sleep disorder

Quote From: liatsunami

Well sleep disoders tend to be aggravated by stress, that is probably why you expereince this paralyisis more often then.  And yes, to me it really does sound ridiculous, but hey, you believe what you believe.  I just think you ought to have a Dr. and a psychologist take a look at you before you chalk it up to demons.

I don't believe in a God that directly intervenes in people's lives. So asking God or whatever for help with MY sleep disorder when I'm sure God has way more important things to worry about seems a little selfish, but that's just me.

You do what works for you, but hey, I'll just keep taking my meds.  They work wonders.

Curses are something I think we bring on ourselves!

I will say that sometimes it may seem we are cursed and that we just can't have a lucky day or even year! But I agree with some of the other folks that life is just what you make it out to be and that curses are just something that you feel you have been served with but really you just might be going through some hard times and you feel like everything you try to do just turns out wrong and you can't get anything right! That's my personal opinion cause I feel that way all of the time!!!

01/05 "Am I Cursed?"

Quote From: charlie75

In the psychiatric world, Malignant Narcissists the term I would use to describe my Mother's condition, but in the realm i of spiritual acknowledgement, it would be called the spirit of Jezebel.  Regardless of what this condition is called, my mother operates in a very inhumane, selfish, undeniably unremorseful, manipulative and corrupt manner.  She is a distructive person and is much like an emotional vampire.  Possesed by Jezebel or personality disorder.... both the same to me.

My question is open to not only Dr. Phil, but anyone else who may want to shed light or their opinion.  Does anyone have any knoweledge or hands on experiance being raised by a narcissistic parent?  I am now thirty and have my own family, but the web my mother has had the power of creating is not easily dismissed or escapable.  Much damage has been done emotionally and physically to those she's fed upon.  Am I alone?
I am so sorry you had to be raised by someone with this very serious disorder.  A freind of mine who has a B.A. in psychology  and I discussed this disease at great length.  Unfortuantely, narcissism is one of the most difficult personality disorders to correct, because the person can NOT by virtue of the disease acknowledge they have a problem, and treatment  and therapy often doesn't work.  I imagine your life with your mother must have been very difficult growing up, and you probably are very drained, hurt, and emotionally scarred from it.

First, you have to accept there is NOTHING you can do to help your mother. Second, I would suggest going to a therapist that you can get comfortable enough with to discuss specific concerns relating to how this is affecting your life.   Get help by learning the steps you need to take to begin to give yourself control over your life and feelings.  Really listen to what the therapist tells you, and don't let him/her dismiss your feelings.

This disease is not your mother's fault, but you can't let her drag you down.  You really need to see a professional about how to free yourself from the trap you feel you're in.

Overcoming Demonic Oppression

Hello,

Ephesians 10 chapter tells you how to fight the devil, as stated by putting on the whole armour of God.  But before you have the power to rebuke any devil you must accept Jesus Christ in your heart and let HIM reign as your Saviour it is after you accept Jesus Christ, that HE drives the demons out.  You must submit to HIM in heart and live in truth, righteousness, and peace.  Then you can use the benefit of being saved by using your faith in God, trusting HIM to help you in any time of need.  You must read HIS Word which is the Bible everyday and trust HIM.  Develop your relationship with HIM and HE will direct your path.   I know of what I speak.

I was tormented by demons and I was a Christian too!  It wasn't until I exercised the benefit of realizing I couldn't fight them, but use God's Word which simply states that God has all power and that HE has already overcome the world.  You speak God's Words from the Bible and say, "In the Name of JESUS you are rebuked by the authority of all mighty God."   I did this and those demons went running away really fast.   I "cover" myself in the word everyday.  I read scriptures to help me focus on the goodness of God and through His protection, they can not harm me any longer.  I can't go into depth on line of all I have done to be delivered, if you are interested in the REAL way to get delivered, it is very simple and beautiful.  Because God really does love you and wants you to live more abundantly.    You can email me at piano1012003@yahoo.com..................No jokesters please only people who want real advice and assistance because at one time someone helped me see the truth and I am willing to share.

God bless you all

After being diagnoses with possible dementia symptoms and 'acting out of dreams' , ie, coming out of sleep paralysis, my husband was eventually properly diagnosed with sleep apnea. He was having 45 incidences and hour that interrupted oxygen to his brain and vital organs. I would suggest to anyone with a sleep disorder to consult a professional in that field. Without the proper diagnosis, my husband would now be in dementia or having strokes instead of rehabilitating, course correcting and stopping the damage incurred because of sleep apnea.

You may think God has more important things to do, but you are his creation why wouldn't he care.  He laid down his life for you, for your healing, for your peace, for your freedom.  I pray peace in your midnight hour, I pray hope into your life, God has an awesome destiny for you and he will keep pouring a message of truth into your life until that seed finally grows.  I pray blessings on you and your loved ones.  You are important, you are loved and you are worthy of Gods time.  Jesus love linsydrop
