Do you believe that walking under a ladder or someone giving you the "evil eye" can give you bad luck? Dr. Phil's guests say that curses and evil spirits are wreaking havoc in their lives. Sarah is convinced that she's hexed. For the last five years, she has been plagued with what she calls the "Tuesday Curse." Watch what happens when Dr. Phil's producers follow her around on her "unlucky" day. Then, George is convinced he is reaping the negative effects of a curse put on his family years ago in Mexico. He has even put his wedding plans on hold because he fears the curse will cause him to divorce! Plus, David worries that his wife, Holly, may be possessed because she has had the same nightmare for the past seven years, and she has been talking in a man’s voice, speaking in a foreign tongue and barking like a dog. What's behind her fearsome dreams? And, a woman claims an exorcism, performed by her father 26 years ago, put demons inside of her.  Share your thoughts.

On a Lighter Note

On a lighter note about dreams:  ...When I first got married 43 years ago, I continued to dream about an old boyfriend.  Because our relationship ended without a final Goodbye...(I'll make a long story short)...I would dream that I would see him and want to talk to him, but he would always ignore me and then disappear.  After dreaming this dream many times, I consciously  told myself one day that I was now a married woman,  it was time to forget about him and stop the dreaming and concentrate on my new life.  I never dreamed the dream again...Maybe what we put into our minds when we are awake has something to do with what is in our minds when we sleep??   :)  "As we think...so we are!"

01/05 "Am I Cursed?"

I also do some odd things in my sleep.  Sometimes I remember them, sometimes I don't.  I sometimes speak in gibberish, but a lot of the time I'm aware I'm doing it.  Usually what it means is that I'm in a dreamlike state and I'm trying to speak in my dream,  but the way it sounds to someone who's awake is like gibberish.  I've also had "evil" dreams, sometimes of demons.  I've never thought of it as a curse or a possession, though.  I've read enough about dreams to realize that usually it is the subconcious manifesting itself.  In other words,  if you have a bad dream, or if you dream that something terrible is going to happen, it could be one of two things:  1)  This terrible thing in your dream is one of your worst fears, or 2)  Something is going on in your life that you're wrestling with.  Are you grappling with something in your life?  Relationship questions, work dilemmas?     I also experience the kicking and the yelling.  I really think these night terrors are the product of an overly troubled mind.  No offense meant by that term, by the way.  MANY of us are overly troubled, including myself!  We all deal with a huge amount of stress in this day and age, and some of us manifest it differently.  I've noticed in the past that a good exercise program also helps with more deep, peaceful sleep as well  (I need to jump back on that bandwagon myself).   Good luck to all; it's reassuring to know others out there also have these strange sleep occurrences.

Some Suggestions

Quote From: velvet2u

Hi everyone...I don't believe in curses but I do believe that there is a fine line between good and evil. I know this first hand. When I was a teenager my friends messed around with a Ouija board. I wasn't very interested in it but they were very devoted to it. It never got them anywhere anyways and It actually messed up their lives. I tried something myself called automatic writing and am still suffering the consequences. I didn't realize the dangers of doing this at the time. I sensed a very evil presence in the room as I tried this...but still went right back to it the very next day. After a few days I started hearing voices..predominantly a man's voice. It seemed that everything was okay until about a week later the voices became very mean and terribly frightening. I can't begin to tell you everything that's happened to me and for some reason these evil beings will not leave. I've tried to get help from priests, reverends and anyone who would listen but to no avail. It seems to me that the priests today are afraid of these things or anything out of the norm and just sent me away and told me to pray and read the Bible. None of which has worked. I would tell you what's happened to me but I'm sure no one would believe me. If anyone knows of anyone out there who can help me please email. I'd be more than happy to hear from you.

I have found it helpful to pray to the Beings of the Highest Level of Light Energy of Divine Order (Angels) and ask them to shield me with one or more of the following: a pink shield that allows only good in and good out / a shield of crystal light / a shield of invisibility, and if things are really bad, an extra strong shield. This is suggested to be done twice a day - early morning and early evening.Taken from personal conversations with Jane A. Simington and from her book Journey to the Sacred: Mending a Fractured Soul. Hope it helps.

Before I began shielding myself, I got a rash on my side which, due to circumstances, I feel is a curse. I have had it for over two years. Have tried medications, etc. If anyone has any ideas, I welcome them.

could this be a sleep disorder?????

Quote From: fluffyss

From the time I was a small child I also had night terrors where I felt I couldn't move and there was an evil presence surrounding me.  I used to sleep with a light on, or sleeping on the couch seemed to help until a friend told me to start praying.  I prayed to Jesus, every night, for about a month, and one night I felt this peace wash over me.  After 30 years of being afraid to fall asleep I have not had this experience since.  This was 15 years ago.  Until I saw the show and saw this topic I had completely forgotton that this used to happen to me on a regular basis.  There is help, and it can go away....I have lived it and survived....

I have a sleep disorder, sleep apnea.  I have both obstructive and internal, and have had them both since I was 95 pounds at least, as a young teen.  My sister and husband (when I married) would both wake me up for holding my breath/forgetting to breath and also snoring.  I'm a very pretty girl, and no one would guess that I have such a "silly" or unflattering disorder.  Anyway, I went to get it diagnosed, and there was an episode of my sleep (about 6 months) where just before I dozed off, I would have these hideous flashes of awful, monsterous faces that would jolt me awake, and it was awful.  For a while I thought they must be the demons that had tried to bother me during the day, the "spiritual forces" you can not see when you are awake.  So at the sleep clinic, I mentioned this to the staff, and they said that this is a type of hallucination that one gets between wakefullness and sleep, when you are "half in and half out" of sleep.  It is called a HYPNOGOGIC HALLUCINATION.  The brain does the same thing when you doze off and then "jolt" awake again, and apparently they can come in many formats.  It seems like they said that the same part of the brain that forgets to remind me to breathe, causing me to hold my breath is responsible for these horrid visions, and that if they get to bad, they do have a medication for them.  I also once had horrifying hallucinations in the night when I was awakened by what later was discovered as a panic attack.  The room kept fading out on me, and horrible things appeared - wierd and scary - and also not that big of a problem according to the psychologist.  My brainchemistry "hick-uped", and some xanex put me right again.  Apparently the brain chemistry can do alot of wierd things, all in the line of normal.  I think people with this problem should go to a SLEEP STUDY CLINIC and see if they are having some sort of sleep disorder, maybe.....

Curses Are Real

Curses are real.  The Bible speaks about them, and the fact that one should never curse another.  Unfortunately, curses are put on people without them even knowing that it happens.  Curses are also generational, passed down from the Fathers to the third and fourth generations.  Many people are possessed and obsessed with demons, due to generational curses, sin, legal rights, and some even invite them into them, i.e. witches and warlocks and those following Satanism.

I have been going through deliverance/exorcism for the last four years.  Even though I was ready to be set free of all things at once, our merciful Lord will not allow that to happen,  for our safety.  It has been a  hard, but very freeing experience.  God has allowed me to see things that happened to me in the past, and through hours of praying by sincere, knowledgeable deliverance teams, I am free.  God has given me many answers to the many  questions I had concerning my life.  He is a good God and I am eternally thankful that He gave me the desire to get free, and sent the right people to me to help me achieve that freedom.  Forgiveness and repentance plays a large part in deliverance.  One has to stay close to the Lord in prayer to remain free, and trust Him to continue to guide and direct me so that I can stay free.  Trying to live sinless is difficult, but with God's help one can attempt to achieve this goal.  Also, never take offense.  It opens doors to unforgiveness and sin.  I am in no way perfect, as there is only one perfect one, God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.  He is my source for everything.
