Do you believe that walking under a ladder or someone giving you the "evil eye" can give you bad luck? Dr. Phil's guests say that curses and evil spirits are wreaking havoc in their lives. Sarah is convinced that she's hexed. For the last five years, she has been plagued with what she calls the "Tuesday Curse." Watch what happens when Dr. Phil's producers follow her around on her "unlucky" day. Then, George is convinced he is reaping the negative effects of a curse put on his family years ago in Mexico. He has even put his wedding plans on hold because he fears the curse will cause him to divorce! Plus, David worries that his wife, Holly, may be possessed because she has had the same nightmare for the past seven years, and she has been talking in a man’s voice, speaking in a foreign tongue and barking like a dog. What's behind her fearsome dreams? And, a woman claims an exorcism, performed by her father 26 years ago, put demons inside of her.  Share your thoughts.

A curse is what you make of it

I believe that curses are real. I know that this may sound crazy but i have done some deep reading on this.  Now i feel like i have been cursed when it comes to men and my life in general. The reason i say this is because my foster mom was also. When she was young, this lady told her mother that she had been cursed by her aunt and that she could take it off of her for a quarter. You know back then that was good money in the late 40s. Well my foster grandmother who was an ordained minister refused to believe it and did not want to participate. The lady told her if she didn't do it, my foster mom would have problems with men she comes in contact with and also health problems where she would stay sick all the time. Well that is exactly what happened. My foster mom could not have any kids so she took me in at 2 months as her foster child. As i grew up, i saw all the problems she had with men so far as money, responsibilities, love, etc. I mean this woman was a good wholesome person who was the jack and jill of all trades but could not keep a man. Her health was deteriorating and soon passed away at the age of 43.  I feel as though this curse has fallen upon me. I have problems with men. It is not that i cannot pick them but they are all worthless. Just like my foster mom, i am a good wholesome woman but i have been cursed since birth. My real mother didn't want me but kept my older sister. I grew up with no father. The way my foster mom had problems with men is the way i have problems with men also. She told me too. She said when i grow up, a man will never understand me, use me and disrespect me. Also she said people in general would too. It seems like i have the words "use me" written across my forehead. I have worked with numerous people and it seems like one out of the bunch comes up to me and ask me for things.  I definitely know that i am accident prone. I have had an accident every year since i have had my license in 1994. It just seems like everything happens to me and i am a good person. I know i have had people tell me that a curse is what you make of it but even when i talk against it , things just happen anyway.

01/05 "Am I Cursed?"

Quote From: nbrooks

Not sure that I understand that (Christian tarot Reader).

As far as the magi and shepherd interpretation I have to say that it is very interesting, and I will study that out, thankyou for that.

There is one issue that I may disagree with. I am all for 'Love thy neighbors.." but, and I may be mis-interpreting, it seems that you are saying pagans are ok, christians are ok, whoever is ok with their beliefs. This is what we call 'Eastern thinking' where no one is wrong and everyone is right. The opposite end of course is what we call "Western thinking' where there is either right or wrong. If there are two different religious beliefs only one can be right. The Bible quotes Jesus as saying "I am the way the truth and the life. No man cometh unto the father but by me." To classify this, Jesus obviously believes in Western Thinking.

So there are 2 possibilities:

1) Jesus is right. He is the way and there is no other way (that would make all other religions and spiritual beliefs, including pagans and wiccans, wrong.

2) Jesus is wrong. He is not the way and there is some other way.

You see if you say that everyone is right then that makes Jesus right. If he is right then everyone else is wrong so, inevitably, Eastern Thinking is impossible.

You can think what you want of Jesus and the Bible but there are only three possibilities.

1) Lord: He is God. Obey the Bible

2) Liar: If this is true then he was obviously not God, and not a prophet or a good man and his teachings should be disregarded and not equalled to muhammed or whomever.

3) Lunatic: A crazy man, not a prophet.

Only 3 choices, you pick!

"Eastern thinking" is impossible?  Hmmm....

There will be millions upon millions (upon millions upon millions...) of people who would dissagree with that!   For me personally, I find it an incredibly arrogant statement made by you.

Demons are real

I guess everyone who says that this isn't real, or is 100% psychological have never really experienced it. Sorry, but mental problems don't make things fly off tables and smash into a wall. Mental problems don't change the temperature in a room. Mental problems don't create apparitions that several people can see...everyone seeing it without any prior suggestion.  I have been touched, paralyzed, and even strangled by things I cannot see.

Sure, one can say that it is all in my head or there is a physiological cause for it.  I used to think that, too. I had medical tests including EEG to rule out some type of seizure, but everything came back normal. That leaves psychological. I do have post traumatic stress disorder and Dissociative Identity disorder. If you don't know what that is, I wont try to explain it here.  That said, I will say that SOME of the physical symptoms could be attributes to dissociated body memories/abreactions.  But I know that some of them are not.

I am a survivor of satanic abuse as a child and have a history of satanism.  It is absolutely real. I find it odd that many Christians believe in angels and miracles, but they don't believe in demons or curses.  A lot of people who believe they are cursed, really are not. But that certainly does not mean that NOBODY is tormented by evil or by curses. One thing I will say is that whether or not it is real for an individual, the only way to know for sure is by finding a good therapist who believes in the possibility of spiritual oppression.

Read books, talk to pastors...get a lot of opinions. If it becomes clear that you do need deliverance/exorcism, for petes sake do NOT let just anybody who calls themself an exorcist work with you.  You will wind up worse off than before!!  I know because it has happened to me.  I have yet to find someone reputable who understands both dissociation and spiritual warfare. I have to believe that there is someone somewhere, otherwise there is no hope for me.

Orbs now?

Quote From: chrissy37

I also saw the Orbs Rick describes above.  It was very clear.  They are all over Holly's bedroom and one even appeared to enter her body.  I'm certain that Holly is being haunted by evil spirits but also remember where evil exists godly spirits prevail.  My husband has experienced similar things exactly as Holly and to this day, is almost afraid to sleep at night.  He sleeps with the TV on, sometimes even  with the closet light on.  His experience happened before we were married so I didn't actually witness what he experienced but I have seen a video of the house he used to live in where he had his experience and you could see orbs in it just like the orbs surrounding Holly.  I don't want anybody to think I'm crazy so Holly, if you read this, and want more info., please email me.  I'll be happy to discuss this with you further.  The key is to not be afraid of what you are experiencing, these spirits are using you for a reason.  Maybe they are lost, maybe they're drawn to your spirit, maybe you can even help them.  Start watching for things that happen while you are awake, there may be more than  you know happening around you.

This thread is really something!  How is it possible that its the minority on this board that are speaking of the PHYSICAL/PSYCHOLOGICAL explainations of Hollys dream life???

Boy oh boy!  This show really brought out all sorts of views, didnt it?  LOL

For Sharon and others

I tuned into the middle of Sharon's story and immediately knew that I wanted to reach out to her.  I hope that she and the others will read this message.

It broke my heart when she said that she didn't know if she was going to hell.

Sharon,

There is a way to know for certain that you are not going to hell.  God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten son so that whoever believes in Him (Jesus) shall have everlasting life (in heaven) (John 3:16).  God loves you truly, madly, deeply and He wants to meet you exactly where you are- messed up life and all!  He is faithful and just to forgive you and create in you a brand new life so that you can start all over again.  All you have to do is call upon Him and He will change your life.  Ask Him to forgive you and come into your life.

God can set you free from these spirits that have been tormenting you.  In Luke 4:40-41 it says, Now at the setting of the sun, all those who had any sick with various diseases brought them to Him and He laid His hands upon every one of them and cured them.   And demons even came out of many  people...   The Bible says that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.  That means He can do for you what He did for them.  Just call on His name.  I hope that this blesses you and I have prayed for you.  God is going to do something Big in Your Life if you call on Him!  I look forward to hearing a good report on your situation!

01/05 "Am I Cursed?"

Quote From: nextmick

True that.  Its a big shame that this has become a holy war.

Ephesians 6:12  (Amp. Bible translation)

"For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood (contending only with physical opponents), but against the despotisms, against the powers, against (the master spirits who are) the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere."

It has everything to do with spiritual issues!

01/05 "Am I Cursed?"

Did anyone notice? When Holly described one of her dreams, did she not specifically mention seeing 4 dark figures which she then banished by commanding them each to Hell?  And, didn't Sharon list 4 demons she feels torment her?

Perhaps Holly has been doing battle on the behalf of someone she only met yesterday.

Dr. Phil often says he believes things happen for a reason....Sharon was so sad and worried about what potentially having demons might do to her salvation.  Maybe there's a message to Sharon to Fear not!  You are so precious that Angels fight for you when you aren't even aware.

I was struck by a resonance between these 2 stories, but I may simply remember the dream wrong.

01/05 "Am I Cursed?"

Quote From: jimdoughty

Regarding the fellow who keeps getting flat tires:

Is he hitting railroad tracks, curbs and/or potholes at 60+ mph? No tire can take that kind of abuse.

Check the wheels [the big round metal thing that the tire goes around . Is it dented or otherwise deformed so that it cannot hold air? Pull the tires off the wheels and check the mating surface of the wheel and tire for poor sealing.

Check the valve cores and stems; were they replace with the last set of tires.

Finally; is he having a feud with a neighbor or ex-girlfriend -- they love to go after tires.

There has to be something going on -- properly installed tires on good wheels will go a long way.

Actually, he said he was going 80 mph.

Yep!  Sounds like a curse to me!  The curse of being a speed racer, that is.    ;)

01/05 "Am I Cursed?"

I think that it's humorous that people automatically assume that the woman with 'night terrors' isn't having a paranormal experience but rather some kind of sleep disorder.  We haven't heard the 'tongues' or a linguist's evaluation.  If she really is speaking in Latin (as her husband suposed) then wouldn't that rule out a sleep disorder?
I posted this yesterday in response to a post, not seeing how to start my own post.  So, here is a reposting.  I hope that the woman who had been 'excercised' is able to read my message, since I know somewhat how she feels concerning her father/family.
I have experienced excercisms also.  Well, three.  One of a friend in college.  They only let one other student in there during the excercism, which was myself.  It is so dangerous to have unprotected/spiritually weak individuals present during the exercism, and I was the only student they thought would be ok in there.  I was so upset to hear that the father was bringing people into the home to be excercised.  That is so dangerous!  Especially to have children in the house.  Not only is it spiritually dangerous, but it's dangerous psychologically as well, as we have seen in this poor lady.
The second and third exercisms were my own.  When I was little my mom tried to excercise me because I was so terrible.  Since then I have been diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome, which is a high functioning form of autism.  This caused much of my behaviour, including adversion to being touched.  In Mom's defence, since my daughter also aparently has AS and I experience the daily meltdowns and behavioural problems my mom had with me, I can see how she was concerned that I might be possesed!  When I was older, my parents thought I was possesed because I had been raped and then became promiscous with the rapist, and later a boyfriend.  They felt that ment I was posessed, and I wasn't!  I was in my twenties, and was absolutely horrified that they were doing this to me.
I can understand how that poor lady felt, even if she was possesed.  I was so angry and hurt.  I don't think I've ever gotten over it.  If she was possesed, then I agree wtih her parents trying to get the demons out, but the situation should have never hapened to begin with.  Her father should have protected his family.
On another note, my grandmother was very obviously possessed.  She had other voices (including male) that spoke through her and she had super human strength (weighed 65 lbs,
hadn't eaten in a week, but it took four large male nurses to hold her down.)  She tried to kill her son, who lived with her.  She was really messed up, and the psychologists who evaluated her said she was fine.  We put her in a nursing home and shortly thereafter she behaved normally.  I supose the demons left her and went into others in the retirement home.
I do want to add that I was very impressed that DR Phil gave his opinion and thought he did an excellent job!
