Do you believe that walking under a ladder or someone giving you the "evil eye" can give you bad luck? Dr. Phil's guests say that curses and evil spirits are wreaking havoc in their lives. Sarah is convinced that she's hexed. For the last five years, she has been plagued with what she calls the "Tuesday Curse." Watch what happens when Dr. Phil's producers follow her around on her "unlucky" day. Then, George is convinced he is reaping the negative effects of a curse put on his family years ago in Mexico. He has even put his wedding plans on hold because he fears the curse will cause him to divorce! Plus, David worries that his wife, Holly, may be possessed because she has had the same nightmare for the past seven years, and she has been talking in a man’s voice, speaking in a foreign tongue and barking like a dog. What's behind her fearsome dreams? And, a woman claims an exorcism, performed by her father 26 years ago, put demons inside of her.  Share your thoughts.

Wow

Quote From: nbrooks

Not sure that I understand that (Christian tarot Reader).

As far as the magi and shepherd interpretation I have to say that it is very interesting, and I will study that out, thankyou for that.

There is one issue that I may disagree with. I am all for 'Love thy neighbors.." but, and I may be mis-interpreting, it seems that you are saying pagans are ok, christians are ok, whoever is ok with their beliefs. This is what we call 'Eastern thinking' where no one is wrong and everyone is right. The opposite end of course is what we call "Western thinking' where there is either right or wrong. If there are two different religious beliefs only one can be right. The Bible quotes Jesus as saying "I am the way the truth and the life. No man cometh unto the father but by me." To classify this, Jesus obviously believes in Western Thinking.

So there are 2 possibilities:

1) Jesus is right. He is the way and there is no other way (that would make all other religions and spiritual beliefs, including pagans and wiccans, wrong.

2) Jesus is wrong. He is not the way and there is some other way.

You see if you say that everyone is right then that makes Jesus right. If he is right then everyone else is wrong so, inevitably, Eastern Thinking is impossible.

You can think what you want of Jesus and the Bible but there are only three possibilities.

1) Lord: He is God. Obey the Bible

2) Liar: If this is true then he was obviously not God, and not a prophet or a good man and his teachings should be disregarded and not equalled to muhammed or whomever.

3) Lunatic: A crazy man, not a prophet.

Only 3 choices, you pick!

If I remember corectly the study of Theology is the study of Religion's, that's right, with an 's. I am glad to know that there is some school someware that is teaching one sided Religion out there then sending people out thinking that they are well versed Theologans. If you read Genisis 1:26,27,28 you will see that man was also created before the garden of eden in like image to God. Then the garden of eden was created and Adam and Eve conciquently. Who were those other people? Eden was also planted in the East. Since it all started in the "East" shouldn't you have some "Eastern Thinking"? Why would people want to follow a God who right off the get go broke one of his own 10 Commandments? In Genisis  2:17 God said "You must not eat the fruit to that tree; if you do, you will die the same day". Seems to me that Adam and Eve lived quite a long time after they ate that fruit, Thank your Heaven that your god was merciful or Christianity would have stopped there. As I said before I am well versed in many religions, not just my own. Please don't think I am attacking the Christian faith as I am not. In fact I think that it is a very kind and respecting group most often than not, and if it is the right path for someone Great! Just please don't take it so far as to alienate other culture's with "fundlamentalist" thinking. We all need each other to survive on this plannet, so let your beliefs be enough and other's beliefs be enough for them.

Where you live doesn't matter.

Quote From: tad1963

To everyone who thinks that they are cursed: (as in bad luck stuff)

You were born in the United States, one of the wealthiest countries in the world.  You have a home, food in your refrigerator, electricity, heat and/or air conditioning in your home, you have many changes of clothing, a job, a car and money to spend on useless items.  Go to another country, look at the people that have no food to eat, no job, no house, no change of clothes, no clean water to drink, no health care, no doctors to visit when they are sick.  And you complain because you had a bad day.  The people who live in poverty, thank God every day that they are alive to love and care for their families and friends.

I think of the parents who sell their children for food, and you whine that you are cursed!  We are a greedy nation and want everything perfect.  Life is not perfect!!!! Life is what you make of it.  There are tradgedies and trials in life, that does not mean you are cursed.  You choose to look at the bad things in your life, not the good!  For people who are "cursed" with bad luck, change your attitude, look at the good things in your life, not the bad!

As for being "cursed" in the evil spirit or in cases of possession, I do believe that can happen.  It doesn't happen every day, but evil is around us trying to turn us from God.  I believe you can open yourself up to evil and once you do it, you sort of fall into a dark way.  If you look in the Bible, it does talk about evil spirits, Jesus exorcised people who were possessed, He was even tempted by Satan himself, but Jesus turned away from temptation.  We, being imperfect, have a tendency to grap ahold of the temptation and run with it.  Then we find ourselves in trouble and then we cry that we are cursed.  YOU DID IT TO YOURSELF.

Living in the light and walking in the path of faith is a tough road but well worth the struggle.

so, these are my thoughts on being cursed.  I know that many people will feel differently but, to each his own.  So next time you get a flat tire, or have a bad day, thank God that you had that flat tire, because you could be living in a third world country deciding whether to sell your beloved child to someone so the rest of your family can eat or keep your child and watch your children starve to death.

Thoughtfully submitted,

Terri

I am sorry, but what does living in the U.S. or anywhere else in the wolrd have to do with being cursed or possesed?  There are still starving and homeless people right here in the U.S.  and I don't think they feel very blessed.  I am from South America, and have also lived in Europe and now here in the U.S.  and I can attest to the fact that especially in South America, the idea of being cursed is very real!  And I don't believe that people who claim they are cursed necessarily did it to themselves, that is a very closed minded statement to make.  I've seen people who were church goers belived in God and Christ and experienced evil/curses anyway.  I personally experienced some evil occurences as a 9 year old child, and I was going to Catholic school and attended church 3 times a week, and I didn't ask for it to happen to me, nor did I do it to myself. So, unless you have first hand knowledge of such things, you shouldn't be so quick to judge!

Who Said They Were of God

Quote From: carlayung

My heart goes out to the young woman who's father performed exorcisms and tried to perform one on her.

As a young woman I went to what seemed to be a normal church, the pastor started preforming exorcism. Soon everything was a demon and the women in the Church became the main target for  exorcism.  You could not trust anyone, if  you said anything that "rub another person the wrong way" Or if they just had a "feeling" about  you they would turn you into the pastor.  It was like living in Salem during the witch hunts.

I knew it would be hard to leave because my friends and life were there and on top of that  I was  employed by the church.   I realized that my normal Christian church had grown to a destructive cult. I walked out during a meeting never to look back or have any regrets in my decision.

It's been over 20 years .  I thing of myself as a very lucky person some of my friends  were not as lucky.   Some have died because they did not get the medical help they should have had.  Families were destroyed. Friendships torn apart.  Some of the people involved just went on to other cult like groups.

I can not even imagine what todays guest has been through. She too will be a survivor.  It may take time , hard word and a lot of tears but she will make it.

So many people get this wrong, but if they applied the same thought process to the church/Christianity/healing/deliverance, etc. as they do to the thing of their everyday lives, we would be much better off.  If you go to a bad restaurant or mechanic or hairdresser or store or even a bad movie do you stop going to any of these places or doing any of these things all together?  NO!  So why do we give church or the Power of God/Jesus one shot!  Some don’t give it a shot at all.  Don't you know the devil can open a church and call himself a prophet of the Lord?  This is why we must read the Bible.  In there you will find warnings of false christs, prophets, etc.  That's why Jesus said "these signs shall follow them" (Mark 16:17-18) so we will know who to follow and trust.  Mark 13:22 and 2 Corinthians 11:14 are just a few scriptures that warn about being deceived.  In conclusion, the church/minister was the problem not the TRUE practicing of Christianity.   It may have been the wrong or an evil church or they really could have thought they were doing it the right way, but in any case you must never stop seeking the Truth and the True power of Jesus Christ.  If a person does then you will never receive and understand all that Jesus came and died for and the saints will remain bound and in the dark.  And a person can't truly call themselves a Christian unless they follow and practice ALL of the teachings and practices of Jesus!  Amen!  The Lord be with you!

01/05 "Am I Cursed?"

Quote From: olivetree7

Hello.  I am praying for you right now that God will open your heart and mind to what it is I'm going to tell you.  There is hope for you.  Are you a Christian?  I believe that curses are real. Deut. 30 :19.  I believe that  demonic possession is real.  The Bible clearly states that these are real.  If you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is the son of God, that he was crucified and died on the cross for the redemption of your sins, was resurrected on the third day and ascended to the Father, you have taken the first step into salvation.  You must be baptized in water in the Name of Jesus.  By this I mean that you must be submerged into water, representing your sinful flesh being put to death with Christ on the cross, and then resurrected into newness of life through Christ.  Jesus was God in the flesh.  When he ascended to the Father, he sent the Holy Spirit to dwell in us as our comforter.  Ask for the Holy Spirit to dwell inside you.  Seek his word daily by reading the Bible, knock and the door shall be opened to you. Find a good Bible based church to attend regularly.  Satan and his fallen angels have no power over you if you are a son of God. Just as curses and demons are real so are BLESSINGS and ANGELS.  Perfect love casts away fear. GOD is LOVE.  Jesus defeated death, hell, and the grave at the cross.  Walk in that victory.  Find a friend who can pray with you.  Someone who is also in agreement with the word.  Where two or three are gathered in his name(JESUS), there is he in the midst of them. Cast these demonic spirits that torment you back into the pits of hell where they belong. Remember them no more in Jesus name.  I'll be praying for you.  If you sincerely want help , here it is.  I know it works, don't take my word for it but try it.  You'll see with new eyes and hear with new ears.

You don't know what Dissociative Identity Disorder is, do you?  Some of your suggestions are out of reach right now because I lose time. I don't choose it, it just happens. I am a Christian and have already been baptized. Also been through Neil Andersons "steps to freedom".  I've been to every ministry within driving distance, and you would not believe the stuff I've been through with them.  I cannot attend church right now. Long story.  Besides, every christian church I've tried to attend has asked me to leave before long.   Suffice it to say that they don't believe me.

I find people who believe in dissociation, but not spiritual oppression...and I can find people who believe in oppression, but not dissociation.  In other words, either shrinks dismiss any discussion of spiritual things and say its ALL in my head. OR churches who say it is ALL spiritual and do not believe in DID.  Sometimes the right kind of help is not available so all one can do is function as best as they can.  I don't bother trying to make friends anymore because they can't handle knowing the truth about me.

CURSED?

I believe to an extent that yes you can be cursed.  You can word curse yourself just by the words you speak.  However, do I believe that the Tuesday curse and the other gentleman was cursed.  I think theirs was more brought on by themselves.  I think the first wrong thing the Tuesday curse girl did was go to a physic to try to figure it out.  Talk about cursing yourself.

However, the girl who was exorcised by her father.  I do believe she had dark spirits attached to her but it appears that her father left the covering of his church and had no business doing exorcisisms without that covering.  Also, to be successful,  the person having the exorcism performed on them needs to be in agreement.  The Bible clearly states that if that person is not willing or in agreement those demons can come back with 7 more.  I believe this is what happened to her and I believe Dr. Phil gave her perfect advice.

The lady who dreams evil forces, is very much being attacked by demons in her sleep.  However, I do not believe she is possessed.  Because she appears to be fighting them, is a good indication that she is being attacked by not possessed.

These are just my beliefs and thoughts -  do alot of studing on this subject and have been to some deliverance seminars and I am a full believer of dark forces

Great Dr. Phil Advice

I feel so bad for the poor lady who was a victim of , in my opinion, a radical wacko father.  I do however love the advice you gave her Dr. Phil.  Regardless of belief or non belief, to find a solid church of her choice to reassure her of her salvation and to get some couseling.  She is in some really unnecessary pain.

My dear lady, I am a believer in the power of the Lord and I say to you as the Bible says:

"If God be for us, who can be against us?"

Sleep Disorders

I'm wondering if anyone has checked to see what medications Holly may be taking.  I suffered from horrible nightmares every night for 3 years until I figured out that it was my blood pressure medication causing the problem.  I checked with my pharmacist who confirmed that that particular drug could cause sleep disturbances.  Since my medication has been changed I don't have bad dreams anymore.

Overcoming Demonic Oppression

Hello,

Ephesians 10 chapter tells you how to fight the devil, as stated by putting on the whole armour of God.  But before you have the power to rebuke any devil you must accept Jesus Christ in your heart and let HIM reign as your Saviour it is after you accept Jesus Christ, that HE drives the demons out.  You must submit to HIM in heart and live in truth, righteousness, and peace.  Then you can use the benefit of being saved by using your faith in God, trusting HIM to help you in any time of need.  You must read HIS Word which is the Bible everyday and trust HIM.  Develop your relationship with HIM and HE will direct your path.   I know of what I speak.

I was tormented by demons and I was a Christian too!  It wasn't until I exercised the benefit of realizing I couldn't fight them, but use God's Word which simply states that God has all power and that HE has already overcome the world.  You speak God's Words from the Bible and say, "In the Name of JESUS you are rebuked by the authority of all mighty God."   I did this and those demons went running away really fast.   I "cover" myself in the word everyday.  I read scriptures to help me focus on the goodness of God and through His protection, they can not harm me any longer.  I can't go into depth on line of all I have done to be delivered, if you are interested in the REAL way to get delivered, it is very simple and beautiful.  Because God really does love you and wants you to live more abundantly.    You can email me at piano1012003@yahoo.com..................No jokesters please only people who want real advice and assistance because at one time someone helped me see the truth and I am willing to share.

God bless you all
