I believe and trust what Jesus said and says.  This type of communication goes against the word of God.  And we all know who goes against God. 

I believe that there is apparent evil in the world, call that curses, do what you will, but I also believe life is all about choices as well.  We can choose to think a certain way just like we choose what to wear each day.   

Personally I don't believe there is a curse on you.  I think the power of suggestion is very powerful and I think by hearing your foster mom say these things, and probably not just once or you may not have remembered as well as you have, that you have taken this belief upon yourself.   

I believe bad things happen to good people, I think everyone has had problems in life.  I think the most important thing we can do is to pick ourselves up and make the most out of what may be a bad situation.  I belief that is a true test of who you are and what makes you, you.  I know I learned the most about myself through the trials I have had in life.   

Also, about the men problem you seem to be having.  I totally believe that once you stop looking and say come what may, then love hits you.  At least that is what happened in my life as well as my husbands' life.  He said that same thing when we fell in love.  He said that when you stop looking, not that you totally give up on love, but if you are just living life to the fullest, love will find you.

Evil spirits are Real.  It is not the things you do in the natural that will bring you deliverance. It is receiving what Jesus did for you that takes away Satan's rights to keep you in bondage.

I found this show to be very good.  I liked that Dr. Phil uses a reality approach to the issues and leaves room for opinion.  I am an educated counselor (degrees and certifications) who very much believes in the Spiritual world.  

  

I also have had reoccuring nightmare experiences, like the lady on the show.  I realized, through reflection, education and religion, that my dreams were just as Dr. Phil said- a frame for anxiety and difficulty /trauma in my life.  Once the difficutly passed, I still had the disturbing dreams and found that the spirituality in my religion gave me the extra boost to kick those dreams to  the curb.  Some people use mirrors, candle and crucifixes, as Dr. Phil said.  There are also a host of other symbols such as Holy Water, an open Bible and blessed medals.  A priest or minister can come to the house and bless it.  We have a tradition (Polish tradition) in my church that allows for the priest to bless homes once a year. 

  

As far as exorcisms, I believe they need to be left to the ordained.  The Bibles says that if you drive out demons and do not "lock the doors" by filling the empty space with the Holy Spirit, then the evil spirit will return with 7 more of its friends.  It is true. 

  

I sought psychology, theology, philosophy and my personal religion to form the basis for my spirituality and belief system.  Like Dr. Phil said, we have so much more control over our lives than people always believe. 

  

It was a very good show! 

Read the New Testament.  Jesus spent a great deal of time casting out demons.  What do you think that it meant for Jesus and the apostles to cast out demons, pulling out a splinter?  One demon even spoke to Jesus. 

  

Before I list items with which I disagree, I want to say, it took me 15 years to believe and find help for the curse that was put upon me in 1972.  The story is lengthy, but in a nutshell, a hateful mother of a boyfriend put a curse on me (so that he son would not marry me), which was "that no one would ever love me."  She gave me gifts such as a wallet, which began a cycle of having wallets stolen, she cornered me in the basement with a road race set with 2 cars on the same track head-on which began a cycle of car accidents. She even gave me cheap jewelry to begin a cycle of having jewelry stolen. I, too, did not believe that this stuff happened.  It took me 15 years of praying which finally cause me to be led to a psychic who actually helped me.  By the way, it was the second woman (in two separate cities) who told me for the second time that someone put a curse on me. I didn’t know what a curse was. I didn't know who put the curse on me.  I didn’t know what the curse was, but I saw the same things happening over and over.  Car wrecks, boyfriends being injured, wallets stolen, jewelry stolen, and male friends or dates marrying someone else a month or so after we dated.  Even, today she attempts to hurt me.  Yes, such evil people do exist in my life and yours.

  

 

 

  

 

Let me mention, don’t give personally things away as I did.  This woman did this to me with a pair of shoes that I had given her daughter.  I know another woman who had given her mother-in-law a sweater.  We both saw the women wearing the shoes and the sweater, in that order.  Nancy Reagan would never let any of Ron Reagan’s personal items get into anyone’s hands.  She probably saved President Reagan from the curse of the Presidents whose inaugural years began in the 0s.

  

 

  

  

 

This woman who did this to me did not do this to me by herself.  She paid someone to do this to me.  Do a search on the Internet and find many sites where there are hexes, curses and spells for sell.  Mike Warnke (who appeared on Oprah in 1987) was a witch (now reformed) who wrote a book called Satan Seller by Doubleday.  I ordered it and read similar things that happened to me.  I continue to research other names for this practice:  witchcraft, mal occhio, evil eye, cabala and black magic.

  

 

 

  

 

On these points I disagree with a previous post:

  

 

1.        I hope that "physic" was actually meant to be "psychic."   If God allows evil and Satan to run throughout uncontrolled throughout the world in the second millennium, God certainly will give man someone to help him against evil.  The gift of prophecy and seeing through spirits is a definitely a gift from God--the Holy Spirit working.  Beware, however, of charlatans and thieves.  There will be those who will try to bleed you dry. (That happened to me.)  Don't choose the first psychic to you speak.  Visit 2, 3 or more.  If you are a good person, you will be able to judge for yourself who is trustworthy or money-hungry.  I am not a psychic but I do believe that my devotion to St. Jude led me to more than one psychic who has helped me. (St. Jude is the patron saint of desperate cases.)  If a doctor were to tell me that he had to cut off my leg, I would certainly get another opinion or more opinions before I agreed to do it.  The same here, get several opinions.

  

 

2.       Voodoo is evil, so stay away from that.  Voodoo is witchcraft, white magic is witchcraft.  Psychics do God's-work.  This is no magic involved.  When we speak of curses, hexes and spells, we are speaking of EVIL. The devil is up to NO good.  (Psychics are given the gift of prophecy and as any other gift; it is a gift from God.)

  

 

3.       God does not curse but God does allow evil so that man can make he own choice between good and evil.  God is ALL-good.

  

 

4.       You don't need to know who placed the curse on you or what the curse is.  Of course, you will want to know to avoid that person, but you can get help without knowing.

  

 

5.       As I was, you will be totally humiliated, but you will find more and more people who believe you and know something about what the practice is called.

  

 

 

  

 

Get help, get help, get help.  Don’t go to those false faith healers and don’t believe you can help yourself.  When you pray, you get answers.  Whether you chose to follow the answer is up to you.  I found help though a psychic, not the first one who told me but the second one.  The length of time was 7 years in between.  I certainly didn’t want to wait another 7 years.  It cost money, but I had already wasted 7 years, I couldn’t afford to waste another 7.

  

 

There are influences of good and evil in this world.  I am Catholic and spoke to a group of priests at St. Patrick’s Cathedral about this.  One told me that he has seen a woman’s head twist completely around.  Follow your intuition; you will answer your own questions. 

  

 

  

  

 

Do you think that I am offensively, exagerating my importance? 

You may find me offensive as many others probably would. I'm ok with that. I know it is impossible to please everyone and as we see (especially in politics), people who try to please everyone are the people who really don't stand for anything. And in my mind those people are not good role models for society. 

Second of all I don't think that I, in myself, I am important with regards to this issue. I think that what I am saying though, is important. I am stating, and backing up everything that I say with references and historical facts. I do understand that there are probably billions of people who disagree with me. That is perfectly fine. The things I am stating about these issues are true and not made up. 

Ok, Eastern Thinking, Humanism, post Modernism - take your pick. They may not be axactly the same but they all folow the same agenda. Lets look at Post Modernism: From The New Evidence That Demands A Verdict, written by Josh McDowell, Volume I and II pgs. 612 &619-620 

Truth: Truth does not exist objectively; it is a product of a person's culture 

Thought and Language: thinking is a social contruct,: language is arbitrary, and there is no universal truth transcending culture. 

Take for example the Wexner Center for the Arts at Ohio State University. It has stairways leading to apparently nothing, columns that are raised off the floor, beams going in every direction.... a building that defies all logic right? Not exactly. The only problem is that this building still has to have a logical, firm foundation. If there was no foundation, for instance, the building would not be standing. Regardless of the direction we choose, there still has to be a sensible basis, a truth, for everything. Could you imagine if the English language suddenly became objective in every way to everyone. Everything would fall apart. Obviously perception and tone etc are objective but the actual words can not be. Lets say for instance I said "lets go to the store" and you decided that to you, that meant " lets eat lunch at McDonalds". Everbody decides what's right for them. Even though you're saying that Eastern Thinking is ok, it is impossible to practice it at 100% capacity. And even at 99% it's not really Eastern thinking because the foundation of thought is still based in Western Ideaology.

I think maybe there was a misunderstanding about the 3 choices comment I made. 

What I was saying is that there are 3 choices in respect to your view of Jesus Christ, not about religion.

I attended a Bible College (similar to a theological seminary but for both sexes) in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. 

It's called Northeast Christian College. It is a campus and is run by  the United Pentecostal Church International, Atlantic District, not a local church. 

     I don't believe in curses or possession, personally, I believe in psychology and the mind's flukes. Granted, I do recognize that sometimes unexplainable things happen and I -am- open to understanding that religion -can- be correct but we can't really know for sure. For now I rely on more earthly reasoning for what goes on. Now that I got that disclaimer down I'll get to the point:
   I have problems believing in curses and possession - possession especially - because of what I think a false belief in it can do. I spoke to a friend of mine about some problems I myself have (my family has a history of bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and major depression and I have reoccurring 'problems' that could be categorized under any of those) and he understood and said that he has some of the more violent problems, but that he believed it to be caused by demons. Now, I understand that him and his family are all very heavily religious, but we have also talked about his childhood which included abuse, abandonment by his father, and the need for him to pick up parenthood for his two little sisters. When I pointed out that he obviously didn't have an easy childhood (I had realized that he had some depression problems by this point and I spoke to him unheedingly, thinking he'd understand because at the time he had been looking into psychology) he refused to talk about it and said that the Christian thing to do was to forgive and forget. Unfortunately, it seems that all he's tried to do is forget, and I know first-hand what suppression of something terrible can do to someone. Now he's plagued with depression, terrible nightmares, and on occasion he even 'sees' things (but mostly when he's just coming out of a nightmare). I tried to suggest multiple times that he see a psychiatrist but he won't because of the religious answer he's deemed his lifesaver. Granted, this hasn't helped him at all, and I worry about how the degenerative aspects of certain mental illnesses will effect him in the future.


Him and I don't speak anymore because when he gets depressed he becomes manipulative and lashes out at people close to him and anyone close to the person he's targeting.

I would really appreciate knowing if anyone with an objective view can enlighten me on this. Psychologically speaking, what could his problem be? Any insights would be wonderful, thanks.

I just wanted to say that it is true we don't have to go too far to find extreme poverty in the US, but what I think Terri was saying is that we ( you and me, not our ancestors) are very lucky to live here.  We have a choice to pull ourselves out of poverty, I can give you many names of people that have done it in the US, one being Oprah herself.  I think that we as a society on the whole are so lucky to have freedoms that other countries could never even dream of!  #1 being freedom of religion, freedom of speech (although I believe some take too much liberty with this), and so so many others.  There are still places in this world that you can be killed for being a Christian, it's not something from yester-year, people are still be persecuted for what they believe.  I am just giving this example because I wear my faith out on my sleeves and am not ashamed to tell you about what I believe.  I am so glad I can tell you and not be harmed in the process. 

I have been to many reservations in my life, living in the midwest and traveling around the states you are bound to travel close to one or through one.  But I also have a sister-in-law, that is as close or even closer to me than my own sister, that is a eye doctor on one of these reservations.  I hear from her all the time about the depression she sees in people.  I know that this has come from a long line of mistrust of white people and from the terrible things we (my ancestors) did to you (your ancestors), but I also believe that everyone in this country has a choice to pick themselves up by their boot straps and live life to the fullest.  I am really trying not to sound insensitive, because I really don't want you to take this as any kind of maliciousness. 

I just feel that people in the US and Canada have so much more to live for than anyone else does in the world.  The US was founded on Godly principles and I believe it is our duty to the world to live our lives to be of service to those who are in need.  To whether it be someone in our own country that needs a helping hand or to those who are truely starving in the world for everything that we sometimes take for granted, whether it is governmental health care or the best doctor money could buy. 

I also want to challege Dr. Phil to see if he could help those who live on reservations.  I think he could do some good to bring this issue to the forefront, although it's probably another hot botton issue.

   VooDoo, Spell Casters, Black Majick........I believe people can become afflicted by evil in this way when it is sought by another person.  That is VERY REAL, from what I can tell.  However, another person must do this to you.  Anybody who would dabble in such wicked things is most certainly motivated by Satan, because he is the force behind evil.  I think when people are victims of a spell, sometimes they do not even know it, and it was put upon them by very wicked, evil people, who love Satan and his false promises, and who do not love people or JESUS.  These people who send negative energy to innocent people are in league with Satan.  Does anybody reading this remember the song "The Devil went down to Georgia"?  Well it completely frightened me as a child.  That awful fiddle sounded so wicked!  I was about 7 years old, and I lay in bed awake at night thinking that if the Devil went down to Georgia, then surely he could come to Michigan.  Yes, as an adult I believe he can come to Michigan, or wherever you are, but he no longer scares me.  If you rebuke him in the name of Jesus, he will have no choice but to stay away from you.  He gains power when people do not resist him, and he goes after you when you are weak.  To CHOOSE to cast evil energy at another person....the person who does that will have to answer for that one day.  I also strongly believe you reap what you sow.   

  

As far as spirits in the material world, yes,  it has not happened to me that I know of, but I believe spirits can return to the material world, and they also sometimes hang around where they died if they do not realize they have died yet.  (And of course our spirit lives forever, so it needs to change planes of existence and go to the light...HEAVEN).  I believe spirits can come back to a house where they lived or to the property where a house they lived in was, or they merely delay going to the "other side," and I do not believe their purpose is to harm the person living there.    As far as a spirit entering your body and possessing you, I believe it can happen, but it is my opinion that a true possession would be EXTREMELY rare.  I liked Dr. Phil's explanation about the use of positive symbols, and having a cross over one's bed.  All of this is very interesting to me, because I think there most certainly is more to our lives than what meets the eye.
