re :sensitive stomach

Quote From: danamikayl

I also have a very sensitive stomache. I have Irritable bowel syndrome. It is quite a challenge. Most veggies and fruit upset me and a long list of other things. I tried so hard for a long time to follow a lot of I.B.S diets, but each one just changed the symptoms I was having to other symtoms. I know this is different, but I can relate. I drink a lot of peppermint tea through the day and it feels great on my tummy. I'm also not supposed to eat anything whole wheat, but the white stuff. There is no way that I'm doing that. I know the white stuff is not good for me even if it doesn't affect my stomache.

Hello Ladies

You guys are so motivated.  That is so good to see.  As far as cravings for sweets, I keep on hand some sugar free candies and  I also buy Russell Stover individually wrapped sugar free chocolates.  Then I know that I can have one for a treat after supper.  I get those from walmart.  They are so good.

br-bran flakes, skim milk, egg, juice, coffee (ff creamer)

lu-salad, 2sm pieces balance pizza (ww crust, lf meat and cheese)

sn-nectarine

su-chicken taco salad (I told the restaurent I didn't want the taco shell, I was getting it to go, so I get home and there is no shell but there are taco chips with melted cheese on them.  I almost cried when I saw them. lol  So yes, I won't lie, I ate about 10 or 12 of the chips and threw the rest out).  It was kind of funny.  BUT...I didn't use the sour cream they sent. lol

Sherri, thanks for all the recipes.  They look really good.  I have full intentions of going for a walk tonight.  I hope I actually do it though.  I sometimes come up with excuses.

I am going to post the stats for the challenge.

Well I notice as I type this out how close some of you are to your goal.  You guys are doing so good.  Give it your all through this challenge and you guys are almost there.  The same goes for the rest of us too, the harder we try the closer we are going to be to our goals!!  WE CAN DO IT!!

I was thinking we should all give ourselves a reward for when we reach our mini-goal.  Like a new shirt, or a pair of earrings or a book.  If any of you will reward yourselves can tell us your reward, it might give some of us ideas.  I sometimes find it hard to spend any money on myself.  Especially on clothes because for so long I would never buy anything because I was too stubborn or embarrassed.

Well I had better get my butt in gear if I want to get anything done tonight.  Sheree

Remember:  No cheating tonight.  We are all in this together!!

Sheree and all!

I think rewarding yourself with a non-food item is a great idea. For me, I love to buy new clothes when I lose weight. 3 days ago, I went to the mall and there was a sale on at La Senza. I bought 5 pairs of sexy undies and 2 bras. I put then in my underwear drawer and told myself that I couldn't wear them until I lost 10 lbs. I want to wear them badly. I usually buy a size lg. but I bought a medium, so I know that I will have to lose the weight to wear them. I'm so excited! I use to only dress nice if I was a certain weight, but now I find wearing nice clothes helps me to feel better about myself and that helps me lose weight. Here are some reward ideas that don't involve food.

1. langerie

2. A new pair of jeans in a size smaller. If you don't want to spend a lot of money Wal Mart and Giant Tiger have awesome prices.

3. A new nail polish for hands and toes.

4. A sexy toe ring, each time you look at it you can say to yourself "I lost 10 lbs."

5. Ask your spouse if he will give you a full body massage when you lose your 10lbs. That will get his support as well.

6. A new hair style, cut or highlights.

7. A new pair of shoes for those with a shoe "thing"

8. A spa day if you can afford it.

9. A day out! Go somewhere fun. Somewhere you didn't want to go because you were buldging out of your bigger pants.

10. Start training for a mini-marathon to motivate you into losing the next 10lbs, because we are going to keep going, right?

Laurie and everyone!

Laurie if you crop your photo we will be able to see you more clearly. You look like a tiny little thing.

For those of you comfortable with posting photos, we should put on a new one after our 10lb. loss.

Well ...

Today went as well as well can go I guess.  I didn't really pay attention to what I was eating and I probably ate  enough calories but I just ate the wrong thing.  I really don't have much of an appetite lately but I know that it will get me into trouble because I tend to reach for what is ready instead of what is good for me!

I am totally opposite of you Andrea - in that its easy for me to do my exercise but it is very difficult to eat the right thing!

Today I had a bowl of raisin bran, a popsicle, a cup of Hamburger Helper (with lean hamburger and mixed veges), an Oatmeal to go bar, 2 slices white (!!) bread with margarine, and for supper a smoothie (1 banana, handfull of strawberries, 1/2 cup yogurt (fat free vanila), 1/4 cup pineapple juice and a 1/4 cup pineapple...thats it.  SO  yep I am deffinately not eating right but like I said I am kind of sick of food and even more sick of cooking!!!  Any help/suggestions?

bed time

but wanted to send another message.

Tracy I haven't really been in the situation where I didn't want to eat food.  I know what you mean about the cooking though.  Sometimes I will cook up enough so that I will have leftovers for 2 or 3 days.  Then I only have to heat it up.  Gives me less time to grab junk from the cupboard.

You know, I thought of something last week that would be an excellent protein that I could have for lunch at work and it would be easy, do you think I can think of it now.  Grrr.  I am racking my brain.  There is tuna, which isn't my fav. Chicken.  Turkey bacon. Egg. What else would you guys consider an "easy protein" for on the go.

Sherri good thinking with the rewards.  I would usually only dress nice when I was smaller and then my bigger clothes were always too tight and ugly which made me feel the same.  You should see all my size 8's.  They are so nice and practically brand new, hopefully they will still be in style when I get into them.  If not, I guess I will have to buy new ones. lol  Underwear would be nice.  All I wear are the granny's. lol  I seem to go more for comfort than for looks right now.  They are so huge though, they come 1/2 way up my back almost.  I also need a new bra.  Mine is getting a little baggy.  Darnit!! lol  I will have to think of something I have been wanting and use it for my reward.  I let you guys know when I think of it.

Well you guys have a good night.  Sheree

I think I am getting the hang on this.  I like the little faces that we can use.

I like the looks of the messages better too.

Okay...I am off to bed.

Sheree!

If all you've ever worn are granny's and you find them uncomfortable, then a thong would be the perfect reward for you. Everyone who hasn't worn one thinks they must be so uncomfy because they are up your butt, but you get over that feeling quickly and I honestly find that when I'm overweight, they are the best. You should start off with a cotton pair and a t-bar thing, not a g-string, they are for advanced users, lol. Can you tell I love underwear?lol. Just think, no panty lines. I have reformed many from those granny panties.

I also am getting quite used to this board and I like it too. Change is hard at first and I think we were all more bitter that they took it away from us with no notice. We are getting over it just because we are so flippin happy to have this support again. It makes a huge difference for me.

Yesterday I wanted to try a new cereal. The kellogs with almonds and vanilla. I didn't like the label much because it was only 1 gram of fibre and 8 grams of sugar. I wanted to try it so bad though, so I also bought another cereal, special K carb fit, which has 5 grams of fibre and only 2 grams of sugar. When I got home I mixed half and half in a large ziploc baggy. Guess what? The almond vanilla doesn't even have any vanilla taste. I actually prefered the healthier cereal way more.  I was surfing last night and saw a recipe that I thought everyone might enjoy on a hot day. It was mango icecream, which only uses mango and banana, and another one was frozen bananas and fresh pineapple for some nice frothy cold drinks. Let me know if anyone would care for these recipes. It was a beautiful morning at 5am and I feel really energized. It's day 4 today and this has always been a great day for me. It's not too far away from day 1, where I remember how crappy I felt and that's good. The longest I ever went without a cheat was 2 months and then I inhale everything. I have to stop that yo yo trend. I don't even understand why I do it because I know so many delicious low cal recipes. For everything we love there is a healthier way to make it. I have this recipe for blueberry pecan cake and it's amazing, I love it and it's so healthy you could eat it for breakfast. It's loaded with egg whites, yet I still cheat. Why? I need to find the answer to that. If we are going to cheat, why don't we choose the healthier choices like Baked lay's? They have a new choc. bar out that ony has 100 calories from cadbury, so why can't I choose that when it's been 2 months and I'm craving? I have to find the answers or I will never keep the weight off when I do lose it. I've always been able to lose, but I always gain it back and then some. It's such a frustrating pattern. I love it when I lose weight and it's such a high when people say, "You look like you lost weight", but I also get a high from watching a movie and pigging out. Maybe I'm getting too deep for 6am,lol.

Have a super healthy day everyone.

Sherrilynn
