On the outside, they seem like an all-American family, but behind closed doors is a household spinning out of control. Dr. Phil follows up with Bridgette, a self-proclaimed shopaholic, and her husband, Michael, who is a rageaholic.  Bridgette's excessive spending was covering up a much darker problem. She reveals a secret she has been hiding for 30 years: self-mutilation. Dr. Phil reveals that her son, David, cuts himself as well. And that's not all! Tempers flare as the children reveal that they are addicted to porn, and say it’s a habit that started when they were children. Will this family in crisis be able to pick up the pieces and move forward? Talk about the show here.

Michael you don't deserve this - you work your ass off day in and out - You need a women who can apprecieate your hardwork - As for your kids - try the school of hard knocks.

marraige and hope

I believe that all marraiges have hope and a chance to survive. Self harm (as I understand it anyways) is a mind issue, not a choice to be made. I think that understandinding and patience is the key to longevity. I think that the parents need to spend time with their kids and with each other, but also need to talk to and understand their kids positions. It will certainly be a rough and long road, but their is one person in their lives that have been through it. Perhaps the time talking to the k ids too will lead to a comon goal/bond and the time together will benifit the marraige. Of course, I missed this show (sorry), perhaps I have missed some very im portant stuff too. 

  

P.S.  I have three kids and have been marrried for almost ten years.

I'm sorry but my first instinct reading this screams someone trying or currently in a relationship with the husband.  Who are you, a mistress perhaps?

Michael and Bridget.good luck with your challanges, but I really think that maybe you two are not meant to be together, and I really think you should just be upfront and honest with eachother, and maybe then you can both be happy.

Get rid of this family

This family has been on 3 times that I know about.  I think it is time for Dr Phil to give them the boot.  It seems they are taking advantage of this woman.  First shopping, now porn for her kids and cutting, next what will it be?  Dr Phil, please move on to those that really need and WANT your help!  Micheal get a divorce from this woman who is dragging you and your kids down!

greatly disagree.

Some here have said that Dr. Phil should just forget about this family. 

I don't think that he should, and I don't believe that he would. 

Any counsellor, therapist, psychologist, etc, should not give up and continue to help as long as necessary.  That is their job.  People come to them, and to Dr. Phil, for help.  If psychologists give up on someone when help could still be offered, then who are people supposed to go to?

Sad for all of them

I believe that everything that is transpiring in this home is all symptomatic of HUGE problems.  These are the kinds of things that nobody wants to face, and specifically speak out about, namely because of the threat of criticism or judgement.  Thus, when bottled up inside for years, comes out as symptoms that we are hearing about now.  I truly home that Dr. Phil can help these people talk about what is really hurting them, whether past or present hurts, so they can move past this, either together or alone, to find a much happier way to live their lives.  What is going on in this family is no different than if the issue were alcoholism or drugs which is a more visible problem, but the results are the same when it comes to creating dysfunctional families.  My best wishes to all of them, and I know that Dr. Phil can help if they are willing to say honestly what is in their hearts and not allow others to affect what they feel, and their ability to say it out loud.

Bridget you admit that you did not love him when you married him and I think you still do not - as far as vacations are concerned you spend all the money so he has to keep working to pay the bills.  Michael if I had married a woman and found out she did not love me and only married me for the material things (kind of like a whore) I would be in a rage too. I would get a divorce and find someone that did love me.  Bridget why don't you go back to school and get a career then you want be bored and can buy your on dam clothes.

This family just has too much time on their hands.  And they have chosen to fill it the way they have. It may do them some good to go and help less fortunate people.
