On the outside, they seem like an all-American family, but behind closed doors is a household spinning out of control. Dr. Phil follows up with Bridgette, a self-proclaimed shopaholic, and her husband, Michael, who is a rageaholic.  Bridgette's excessive spending was covering up a much darker problem. She reveals a secret she has been hiding for 30 years: self-mutilation. Dr. Phil reveals that her son, David, cuts himself as well. And that's not all! Tempers flare as the children reveal that they are addicted to porn, and say it’s a habit that started when they were children. Will this family in crisis be able to pick up the pieces and move forward? Talk about the show here.

Find out what happened on the show.

Hope Reigns

I was a "cutter" for over 20 years and it can be stopped. I am not saying it does not take work, but this destructive behavior can end with appropriate professional help combined with supportive people in your lives.

You are in my prayers.

everyone has someone

I am this woman, lost, lonely, etc., and I am glad that Dr Phil can help her and the family. There is no hope for me because there is nobody to help. It is good to know that someone can be brought out of their personal hell. I am crying for her, and also for me. Just help her because I understand her pain.
I do believe that everyone has someone that can help them. There are places you can go to get help. I am also like this lady minus the cuttingthat is a very serious thing, but i am a very depressed person that need to take my own advise. but we all can get help. there is always somebody there.

one on one......

The segment when Dr. Phil talked too Bridgette face too face, was probably one of the most profound, emotionaly overwhelming moments I've ever felt watching the show. All the best too the family, no matter what happens within the marriage, I think Bridgette can do it, she will and can be stronger she'll come out of this shining!!

You are not alone

Dear Dr. Phil Family:

I am a therapist who is currently not practicing, and staying home with two toddlers.  Your family so moved me, and got me back in touch with why I love to do, what I do.

Please do not stop before the miracle happens.  Yes.  It can happen.  You are all taking the first big step, being honest, or trying, as best  you can.  By doing this, you are heros.  It takes bravery of a degree that most people wish for.

Each member of the family is hurting.  There are no good guys, or bad guys.  You all just need to find the way back to loving yourselves and each other--it is a long, bumpy road.

Dr. Phil is a good therapist, and he will only refer you to good people.  Please be brave enough to trust the process.  It isn't going to feel good.  A lot of times it will feel worse, before it feels better.  Sometimes, when you think you can't stand it another minute, a miracle is around the corner.

Also, while you think you are laying yourselves bare in front of all these people, you are really helping all the other families out there going through the same thing.

My thanks and prayers are with you.

Sincerely,

Sherry

Mom needs help

I feel that the mom need to see a psyciatrist first. Cutting is a mental illness issue. When one person in a family has an illness, the whole family suffers.
