09/12 Inside My Heart

Quote From: njtnka

I HAVE BEEN WATCHING THE SHOW SINCE IT FIRST AIRED AND I THINK IT'S GREAT THAT ROBIN IS SO SUPPORTIVE.  SHE REALLY SEEMS LIKE SHE'S A GOOD PERSON.

I WATCHED THE SHOW INTRODUCING HER NEW BOOK.  I AGREE WITH HER THINKING.  WHEN DR.PHIL INTRODUCED MORGAN FAIRCHILD AND LATER STATED HOW GREAT BOTH WOMEN LOOK BEING IN THEIR 50'S, I COULDN'T HELP BUT WONDER "BETWEEN BOTH WOMEN HOW MUCH COSMETIC SURGERY (IF ANY) HAVE THEY HAD."? THEY ALMOST LOOK TOO PERFECT.  WHEN YOU LOOK AT THEM BOTH THERE'S NO  WRINKLES, NO SAGGING EYES.  WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE OLDER PICS OF ROBIN IT LOOKS LIKE SHE MAY HAVE HAD SOMETHING DONE TO HER LIPS AND ALSO POSSIBLY HER BREASTS. IF THEY HAVE HAD NOTHING DONE THEN I'M VERY DISCOURAGED ABOUT GETTING OLDER!!  NO MATTER HOW WELL I TAKE CARE OF MYSELF. I REALIZE THAT NO TWO PEOPLE ARE ALIKE AND WE ALL WILL AGE DIFFERENTLY NO MATTER HOW WELL WE CARE FOR OURSELVES BUT IT WOULD BE NICE IF THERE WAS INFACT SOME TYPE OF COSMETIC WORK DONE THAT IT WOULD BE MADE KNOWN.  I WOULD THINK IT WOULD HELP MAKE WOMEN  FEEL EVEN BETTER KNOWING THEY ARE BEING COMPLETELY UPFRONT.  HAVING MONEY MAKES MANY THINGS SO MUCH EASIER.

I AM NOT CONDEMING ROBIN OR ANYONE ELSE IN ANY WAY.  SHE REALLY SEEMS LIKE SHE HAS A GOOD AND CARING HEART.  I FEEL THAT SHE IS GENUINE WHEN SHE SPEAKS.  I REALLY ENJOY WATCHING THE SHOW I'VE LEARNED A LOT.

It's because she takes care of herself. She's against plastic surgery by means of "fixing yourself" unless its an honest and real approach. Her lips looking a little different(which I haven't even noticed) is probably because of the type of lip gloss she uses. Plus, you have to take into account the lighting, makeup, etc.. and there's also the types of bras she wears, lol. That all adds up. It's not like she's gonna roll outta bed and onto the stage!

And if by any chance she's reading this, Jordan's band rocks!!!

In checking the number of messages posted about every show thus far in September, I was very surprised to see that Robin's show about her new book showed--by far--the least of all shows. How could that be possible? Something doesn't feel right, particularly since 100% of those posted here contain positive comments about Robin's looks, character, and express interest in her new book, either to buy it or to comment on its inspirational message. Wow. I can't think of another public figure with approval ratings like that! Awesome.

Lots of kudos to Robin!!!

I just hope the staff isn't editing/deleting comments deemed unflattering. That would be unfair and unbalanced.
I don't think so, that one comment about the way she dressed is on there. Of course I don't agree with that. I think she looked great in what she wore, and wears for that matter.

I agree with you about her appearance.  Maybe I missed it, but I didn't hear any expressions of gratitude from Robin during her whole show to anyone--not her family, husband, or whomever--for a lifetime of support behind who she has become today.  Seems to me that's basic.  I'd like to see her be an example to other wives' of the importance of that.

I think that's a given if you're asking if she thanked her family for the show.

I watched the show again and noticed that her lips did look different than earlier shows, like she had a little injection, but a normal, healthy one. It looks great. Nothing at all wrong with that. No different than having a facial. She's awesome!!!

Robin's book really invites you into her life, her mind ,her soul. Instead of critiqueing a woman who has visuably supported her husband and familyover the years..... you should really READ her book! I assure you she is the real deal! Imagine for a moment revealing your personal trials in life for the world to see. She has clearly 'rised above her raisin'' which is a feat amongst itself in an atomsphere of addiction! She wrote the book quite simply to get down to basics... to put aside the obstacles life throws at you and do better...set a goal....eduate yourself and take advantage of what life has to offer!I wish you could have gone with me backstage and met her, talked with her. I have met alot of celebrities and Robin McGraw is an angel! She's so genuine!I admire her story, her example , ...her compassion to want better for women like you and me. This is my first posting on the board because I wanted to see what was discussed. Even if you don't LIKE to read you can listen to it on tape! You'll be AMAZED about how down to earth she is...and FUNNY there are parts of the book that made me almost pee my pants laughing and other parts made me want to cry. She invites you INSIDE HER HEART. Robin McGraw is MORE THAN WORDS( with regards to the comment of lack of gratitude) HER ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER! Robin, It was wonderful meeting you...I'm looking forward to a book tour! One of your BIGGEST FANS.

That is so awesome!! You got to meet her!! You were one of those 5! I can't wait to meet her, and of course Dr. Phil. I just bought her book. I haven't read it yet, but am about to. I'm planning on coming to the show sometime. It's weird because I have Jordan's band(72) on MySpace, and I've been thinking to ask Jordan if he could tell his parents that I said hey. For them to know who I am and that I'm a big fan would be so cool!!! His band rocks by the way! I taped the show, which one were you?

The hair style was not really me...I don't ever wear it like that...somebody thought I should wear it that way I guess...I didn't style it.. My family just shot me a confused look when they saw me on tv...I just laughed and said that's," hollywood baby"! I don't do the whole MYSPACE thing...don't believe it to be that safe...that's just me! I studied criminal law...been on dozens of ride alongs with cops...seen too much ugliness! I'm sure the majority of peeps on that site are okay...,but if you don't like rotten apples you don't go where you'd find them hanging! Be careful on that site...seriously...I heard some bad stories. What is Jordan's band? Do you know him or just like his band? He was there..at the show...backstage. You should tell your friends and family to read Robin's.I was honored to read her book first! I so would have bought it anyway!

Jordan's band is called 72. Anthony, the lead singer had commented on my page(MySpace), and when I commented back, I told him to tell Jordan I said hey. Jordan then commented on mine and thanked me for the support, and that Anthony told him that I have their quote as my headline. I love his band!! I love all of their songs, but my favorite would have to be "What If", because it describes me perfectly right now. When he commented back, I was so excited! I have their songs on my ipod. I listen to them often.

Robin,  I really admire your strenght and your kindness with everyone but something about you is bothering me .....  If you say you are a woman of faith and even participate to conferences  why do you say  "empower" so often ? , you say " I feel empowered, it empowers me " etc, it seems like YOU control every details of your life and YOU DON"T!   you should know the power doesn't come from us ! we  make choices, plans and goals but the outcome comes from God ... you never say those things !

The title of your book reminds me  Rick Warren's book called "The purpose driven life", did you read it ? if not, do you know what the first 5 words of the book are "it's not about you" ..... we are not on earth to be rich  (we don't take anything when we die anyway !) or famous (it would take away the glory that must go to God)  but we are on earth to make a difference in people's lives (Dr Phil does a wonderful job on that !) and to  share the love of God and give hope for an eternal life . That should be our PASSION.

YOU have a huge influence on women ....as woman of faith (and now well known because of the show) you should also be careful to use that influence wisely ! The speech and appearance of a christian should reflect modesty  and sometimes you don't ! you just talk about yourself  (like you are superwoman)and even dress inappropriatly ( tank top we can see your breast!) . It doesn't set a good exemple for christian !  Most of the part you have on the show are about material things : gifts give away, house decorating, fashion, shoes, make-up , how superficial is that !  I don't say it's not important but it should NOT be the priority in our life !

I hope the new shows will still involve you and that you will share your faith  ..... women need it ....

OMG, are you kidding me??? It may not be at the top of the list, but those things do matter. I think Robin looked great with her tank top on.

When you say "its not about you" you are dead wrong.  If you are not happy within yourself you can't bring joy and happiness into the lives of other people.  Robin is just telling you about her life experiences and what works in her family.  She has raised two wonderful boys, who I am sure she has sacrficed alot for and put herself on hold.  If you read her book you will find all this out.

By the way if you are such a "Christian woman" should you be the one judging people?  I think not.

Yes, exactly. When I read that, I was furious. It is about you, because you matter, and although those may not be the most important things, they do matter.
