The previews for this  Dr. Phil Family update makes it seem as if Alex is still the ungrateful, know-it-all, do what she wants brat that she was three years ago.  I will be shocked if Alex is really the one raising Nathan. I don't believe Alex has grown up or learned anything "worthwhile" from what she has done. And if learning how not to get pregnant again is the best she can do instead of learning self control, then she really hasn't learned much.

I guess we'll see when the show airs. Maybe I'll be eating my words.

Why is it that when a woman loses her desire to have sex, she's the one that needs "fixing"? Why can't this just be called a normal process instead of being told there's something wrong with her?

 

Why do some men have ulterior motives when it comes to helping take care of the very children they helped create or the house that they too live in? Why not do these things because it is the right and responsible thing to do instead of doing them because maybe he'll "get lucky"?

 

Why does Dr. Phil promote a husband/father helping out as a genuine show of love, respect, and validation when the real motive is self-centeredness and wanting  something in return?

 

Have you actually been diagnosed with having super sensitive hearing? I'm not trying to minimize anything, This is why I ask.

 

Watching the tape of your family's habits (bad manners) strikes me as just plan inconsiderate. They would drive me crazy! In fact, my husband and his family drive me crazy whenever we eat together. They all chew their food with mouths wide open. They suck, slurp, and shovel their food into their mouths. They hold their forks just like a shovel and lean over their plate as if they are protecting their "kill". I know that this is not just my imagination since our three boys notice their dad's bad manners and I have had friends comment about him as well. When he puts a piece of gum in his mouth, I cringe. He chews it with his mouth open the whole time. The noise is simply disgusting. I have tried to chew gum or food the way he does and I can't. It takes more work to chew with my mouth open than it does closed. I've given up saying anything to him because all he does is pout like a child when I ask him to chew with his mouth closed.

 

I don't think you are crazy at all. Has anyone else ever made comments to you about your family's manners? If they have, then it's your family and not you that's needs fixing.

Here are my thoughts.

There will always be racism,sexual harassment,murder,injustice,theft,lying, stealing, cheating and on and on and on.

 

Why is that? Because the human race HAS NOT and REFUSES to make itself right with God!!!

 

People walk around calling themselves Christians and saying "Jesus is my Savior" and yet they live their lives in direct opposition to those claims. The double standard does not and will not ever work. You have to "walk the walk" cuz talk is cheap.

 

This whole mess with the kids on both sides AND their parents comes down to the fact that they believe that life is "all about me" and it's not. Life is about everyone else.

 

I am soooooooo saddened by this whole story because it is all so senseless.

I got an email the other day announcing that the creators of the Dr. Phil show have come up with another one. This one will be The Doctors and will feature the very doctors that Dr. Phil has on hiw show from time to time.

It's a great idea, but here's the problem. IT WILL AIR AT THE SAME TIME as Dr, Phil (where I live) and will be on a different station!!

What were they thinking?????
