11/17 The Search for Natalee

Like many of us around the country, I too have watched the news, news programs, Dr.Phil show, etc.. regarding the disappearance of Natalee Holloway.  Always crossing my fingers that maybe they have found her, or at least news that someone has some real answers!

As anyone who watches the news knows, there are way too many young women missing in and around this country.  How sad.

We all hope and pray that Natalee can and will be found alive!!

These tales of sex slaves and being sold in another country are so far fetched from what we know in our everyday American society.  It's mind boggling.

Not the first time we have heard such a thing regarding Natalee.  If so many people (Arubans or not) have insider information regarding these practices, why doesn't someone actually step forward and assist in finding this young woman?!

If it's so easy to get in and out of Venezuela, have the searchers been there?  Maybe we should send Lisa Ling there -- she seems to be able to uncover alot of atrocities toward women all over the world.

Wonder what this evidence may be that her Mom now has, indicating that she may be alive...?   As the mother of a young daughter, I cannot even imagine the horror that Beth must be going through (and hope I never will!) not knowing where Natalee is or what has happened to her.  Her strength and resolve are truly admirable.  Never give up!!

Like Beth and everyone else involved, I too believe the investigation was totally botched from the beginning by the Aruban officials. What a shame, wasted time.

Keep your thoughts with Natalee's family and friends, and pray that someday this will actually be resolved!

In the bar...

Quote From: kellygm24

How does that necessarily mean she was drugged?  She was in a bar in the middle of the night.  She may not have been a loose drinker in the U.S.- how could she be?  She was 18- under the legal age to drink.  She could not even go to a bar in the U.S. but obviously, she could and did go to a bar.  How many people would go to a bar alone to not drink?  Granted, she may have been drugged on top of her drinking, but don't pretend that she wasn't drinking.

If I remember correctly, Natalee did not "go to the bar alone to not drink" -- she had gone there with several other friends (girls from school).  Several girls attested to that fact -- they were all dancing, had a couple drinks, Joran flirting with Natalee, kept talking to her away from the other friends, yada yada ...

It was when they were all filing out at closing time that Natalee ended up with the infamous 3.  Most likely shoving her into the car with them?

11/17 The Search for Natalee and Amy

The war of words on this message board is incredible, never ceases to amaze me.

Aruba thrives on tourism, boycotting will make a difference.  Just the several on here that "used to" or "planned to" visit Aruba but now will not .... think of the thousands across this country that are not posting on Dr. Phil that feel the same.  I personally know of several families that travel together there every year but now absolutely refuse to.

Not that anyone logically thinks that will bring Natalee back, but more logically thinking that gives Aruba (and their pocket book) the message that we are ticked!

Those in Aruba want to tell you how wonderful their island is, it's so beautiful etc... that's nice, you go ahead and enjoy it.  You should also get down on your knees and thank God it's not your daughter!

So many telling us we shouldn't punish the average citizen there for what has happened.  To me, it involves their government officials, their law enforcement -- did you average citizens not elect these people??!

Maybe when it starts affecting these people, they will start shouting for some answers as well.  I know if it was affecting my job and my family's income -- I would be!

My family will stay away as well -- from Aruba and every other island down there.  There are millions of beautiful places to visit in the USA.  Should we make a list?

Not to say for a minute that bad things don't happen in the USA (none of us are that naive), but this is our home.

For the most part, we support our government officials, law enforcement, etc... and if we think they are slacking and dropped the ball, we let them have it.

I have a family full of law enforcement (including 3 detectives). I can tell you that when someone goes missing here, they do whatever they can to get on it and everyone involved IMMEDIATELY.  I think we can all agree that Natalee's case was botched from the get go.

When the case gets "cold", it is not just dropped here and swept under the rug.  We don't hope that the parents never come knocking on our door again. Puh-lease.

I think Joran and his father and the Kalpoe brothers all know damn well what happened to Natalee, also guessing that Joran (and/or his father) got the payoff.

Carlos N Charlies most likely involved to some extent.  SHUT THAT PLACE DOWN, turn the place inside out, question everyone that works there and anyone that frequents the place. Get some answers!

Do whatever it takes -- get psyhics involved, the military, whatever... but NEVER EVER GIVE UP.

Regarding sex slaves -- uhm, hello?!!  How many people on here have referred to it being legal in so many countries blah blah.... KIDNAPPING AND/OR HOLDING SOMEONE AGAINST THEIR WILL IS NOT LEGAL IN ANY COUNTRY!!

I know of several US military men that have visited brothels like mentioned on the show -- although I'm sure that's not what or who is keeping them in business.

Talked with two of them yesterday -- both SICKENED to think that any one of those girls were kidnapped and/or held there against their will.

There's easily thousands of men (and women) that would volunteer to help storm places like that and save those kids.

Surely there's problems everywhere all across this world -- but we have to start somewhere.  Every little bit helps.  Start SOMEWHERE.

One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind!

Until their families get some real answers (and their beautiful daughters!), pray for the safe return of Natalee and Amy.  Get those girls home!!!!

Why is it that on their web site they are advertising a 8 year Anniversary Celebration.  Are you trying to cover the truth up to, by pretending that the administration of Carlos and Charlie don't even know how many years they are celebrating in business in your lovely ARUBA!!!

Check out there web site, and STOP defending your crappy government.  Use your energy to replace the cartel that is using their powers to prevent open investigations, and cover up so many material facts. Shame on you. Be truthful or get off.

You said it best, STOP defending your crappy government.  Use your energy to replace the cartel that is using their powers to prevent open investigations, and cover up so many material facts. Shame on you. Be truthful or get off.

I totally agree with you (on this and just about everything else on here).  You obviously are intelligent (and a caring father) and do your homework before spouting off nonsense. LOL

Thanks for the input, from someone who appreciates it.  :)
