I noticed the grammar too -

Quote From: cjr1415

I can  not believe those women whose values are so completely warped that they think looks are everything. Wow... I especially feel sorry for that precious BEAUTIFUL child with the skin disease. She is an adorable little girl. It's her mother who is UGLY UGLY UGLY!!!!!!!!!!  That is emotional abuse of the worst kind what she is doing to that little girl, actually to both of them, and if she doesn't get help, she will have to answer to a higher power one day for the damage she did to that little girl's soul. A soul entrusted to her by God. That's the treasure and true beauty in this world- LOVE.

I also found it extremely interesting that these women who are judging everything on appearance  have poor grammar.   That's a sign of lesser education..... do they worry others might judge them for that?  It's fourth grade grammar, people ----    I DON'T,  she/he/it  DOESN'T, we/they DON'T-- ahhh. Sorry, one of my pet peeves.

Anyway... I hope that child's father saw this, b/c he shouldn't stand for it, and they all get help.

Thank God for Dr. Phil.   ( I wish he'd been my dad! )

I was wondering if I was the only one who caught that! I have a journalism degree and am an English nut, but I found that Debi's grammar was horrific, and it was very clear to me that she is probably not well-educated at all. Perhaps that is she believes that the only way she can be important is to be pretty. I'm from the South and people say "ain't" - but if you are going on national television, PLEASE speak correctly!

Thoughts on Jay's Experiment

I thought Jay's experiment was flawed and would like to have seen it done with someone who isn't famous or recognizable. Part of why everyone was talking to him the second time around was because they knew who he was!
I would have been disturbed by "disguised Jay" because he did look creepy. I don't think he looked "unattractive" - he just looked like a man who was unkempt and did not care about his appearance. His personality matched this and I thought he began acting odd. He didn't have the glowing personality he did when he was himself. Besides, I would never talk to any man who accosted me in the mall or accept a drink from a stranger who was sitting in the shadows alone.
One of my best friends worked at Victoria's Secret in college and had horror stories about the perverts that would come in there and do/say all kinds of bizarre things. I think it is uncomfortable when ANY man is hanging out in bikini or lingerie stores.
Good try on the experiment, but I think several other dimensions could have been added to it to make it more interesting!

Totally Agree with You

Quote From: what2do

This is the most user-less friendly message board I have visited.

Unfortunate.  Because I"m a big Dr. Phil fan.

But.... I absolutely cannot find my posts -   I know it took - because I saw a smart alec  comment to it.

But now I can't even find that.  Duh!

I totally agree with you! I consider myself very computer-literate, but these boards are confusing and seem to change format everytime I'm on here. Can't there be a place where you can go just your own posts on the message boards? I'd like to see if anyone replies.....

Thoughts on the show, Nicole and Tommy

Luckily, my mother-in-law is great, but I have found that many times, husbands have a very difficult time standing up to their mothers. I can only imagine as a mother, how hard it is to let another woman become a part of your son's life! But the ones who do allow that are always the most happy and content.
My thoughts about Nicole and Tommy's situation. Why not have a church wedding at home and go on a honeymoon to Jamaica? You can find some reasonable package deals to Jamaica, especially at certain times of the year.
On a side note, that is what my husband and I did and we were not all that thrilled with Jamaica. I had always dreamed of going there, but it was nothing like I thought it would be. Nearly all the couples we have ever met who went there had a similar experience. Maybe it is just me, and we were in the wrong places, but there are lots of other "tropical" destinations that this couple could consider.

Why Show Only Black Audience Members?

I love Dr. Phil, but I did not really care for this show. I didn't think that it really accomplished much and Dr. Phil was a little too politically correct at times.
I also had a huge problem with the fact that EVERY TIME they panned out into the audience while interviewing the first guest, they only showed the black audience members. I am sure the white audience members are interested in what the guest was saying too - why not show all types of audience members? If anyone was in the audience for this show, I'd like to know if they noticed this.

Rujon - a class act

I found Rujon to be one of the most well-spoken, intelligent-sounding men I've heard in quite a while! He seemed to be a class act - it was his "friend" Ty who sounded foolish. You are attractive, no matter what your race, if you can speak correctly, act in a professional and polite manner and are able to laugh at yourself. I don't know if he is single, but I was thinking what a great match would Rujon be with a lady like Condoleezza Rice!
Also, why didn't Dr. Phil lay into Ty like he did to Charlie? Why is it funny and cute to be rude about white people?

Confused...

Am I crazy, or did it mention on the web site or on a commercial that they would be updating Michai's family, and the wife of the cheating doctor? I honestly thought I had read that somewhere! Parts of this show were good - I really wondered about the poker-playing husband - but I wish it had showed more.
I have always wondered what happened to that family on season 2 (I think) - they were the Mormon family from Utah, the mom had a baby from an affair, she was disliked by most of the audience....has there ever been an update on them?

Looking forward to this show

I too am looking forward to this show. I have been married for less than one year and it has been the rockiest time of my life.

I thought Mikai was going to be on Fridays up date show I watched so I could see what is happening with him. Where was he dis my vcr miss somethin? Does anyone know when we'll hear from him agein>
I thought so too - I honestly believe I saw an ad for that show that mentioned Michai's family,  and the cheating doctor and his wife. I am baffled as to why I think this.
I would love to have an update - did you think you saw some kind of promotion for that show too?

Thank you

Quote From: angiepangi

While I dont know what exactly is causing your marriage to be rocky I thought I would suggest a really good book.  I'm usually skeptical of books but this book is extremely insightful for us girls.  It is called "For Women Only- what you need to know about the inner lives of men".  by Shaunti Feldhahn.  This book was given to me by my mother in law.  My husband and I have been married since July 2nd of this year and things can get a little confusing sometimes.  He just deployed to Iraq yesterday and we had to make sure we had a strong foundation for our marriage before he is going to be gone for a year.   After reading this book I confirmed a lot of the things it said with my husband and he gained some insight into what is going on in my head.  Hope this helps.
Thanks - I have heard of this book in the past week actually, and am interested in getting it. I have read "Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands" - is this like that (if you've read that)?
We have just been through some crazy times for newlyweds. He got transferred across the country; we get there and he then travels for work non-stop and I am left alone for weeks at a time in a strange state. Three months into it, he gets laid off. We used all our savings to move back "home" and have been unable to find decent jobs since then. It truly has just been one thing after another - NOTHING like I thought it would be! Thanks for the reply - I appreciate it -
