Are you in counseling or you and your husband in marriage counseling? First links in blue by Dr. Phil suggests and message board link is a message board for those abused as children. Not sure what type of abuse club you are wanting to begin. At second link in purple they have some groups. I hope things begin to make more sense to you. Hugs and prayers and keep being proactive like you are...keep reaching out. God Bless You A LOT. SEA

Techniques to Try:

* Distract yourself (write or listen to music). Get away from the situation you are in and do something else. Go for a walk.

* Talk with someone who is supportive, such as a family member, friend, RA, hall director, or counselor.

* Engage in another activity that requires stimulation. Give yourself a massage, take a hot or cold shower, squeeze ice, finger paint, or squish Play-doh.

* Exercise is a way of quickly managing emotions. Go for a brisk walk or run, punch a pillow, swim, lift weights, or engage in other aerobic activities that require physical exertion.

* Pamper yourself by doing something soothing. Read, listen to music, take a relaxing bath, look at the moon or clouds, open a window to get some fresh air.

* Make a list of activities to engage in that have been helpful in the past when you had the urge to self-injure. Keep this list handy to refer to if you do have the urge to self-injure.

I made a life changing decision today.

I quit my job. this is the first time I have been unemployeed in 20+ years.

I have a very stressful job and a son who is ADHD and OCD.

My husband is a terrible communicator so here I am, talking to complete strangers about my problems.

sometimes it's easier talking to strangers, especially here we really don't judge others just try & help you & give you support the best we can.  Take Care

update tamsue, yesyoucan

I know I don't come around very often any more, I'm sorry I ain't there for you.  But I just wanted to let you all know that today is my anniversary it's been 27 months since I last cut or hurt myself, It's still hard but I know it's worth it.  I can't live like I used to anymore, thats a big thing that keeps me from  going to it, when things get hard.  I've still been seeing my counselor I always dread going there but then usually it's not as bad once I get it over with yet some days I walk out in tears, it's hard going back in time & practically relive the past.  Well I hope everything is going well with you thanks for listening take care.

I have not seen Tama for a while, she was having some tough

times with her depression and everything else, but hse is doing

good. Maybe she will see you looking for her and stop and say HI.

Yesyoucan has been having trouble with her neck and the heat in

Dallas. She is always helping out a neighbor or something also,

so her time has been limited lately for those reasons. That is what

I gather from her posts anyway.

It is odd to not have so many of the older posters on, (older meaning

ones that have been around the boards for 2 or more years, Just

clarifying, hehe). Maybe now that the weather will cool down a bit

and school is starting for some, it will get busier here.

You have made some great accomplishments Tina, GOOD FOR YOU!!

We are all very proud of you and I hope you are proud of you also.

update

well the 21st was my 29th anniversary of not cutting or burning myself & ironicly it was one of the worst days.  I didn't tell anyone or make it obvious what day it was because I thought I could do without & plus I was hoping someone would say something without me having to say anything.  I'm the type where I need to be acknowelded you know for getting where I am now & I was so upset all day cuz nobody said anything but it was my fault also because I was assuming they would know what day it was and all that.  Finally towards the night I finally was just to upset & couldn't take it anymore so I told my friend & she wasn't even aware of the date & then told me what I needed to hear & said I need to tell her on those days cuz she didn't know the date so anyway really I made my day miserable.  Well I gotta work on reaching out & not trying to do stuff alone because I don't have to I'm just so used of having only myself to deal with things & now I actually have people & I don't always use them, sometimes theres people there that care & would do anything & support them but we are just not always aware of it.  Well I'll leave I just felt like writing..take care everyone.  Thanks hope your all doing well.
