Why do you think we all can't get along?
I watched this episode with a renewed interest in the human sprit. I saw that the Dr. Phil staff found the worst possible traits that we all harbour on some level. Our inner thoughts, ones we'd never readily admit to, they managed to find people that were so fed up with the glances, the smirks that we all provide to others through our body language that they can't hold it in anymore. I don't know how anyone can say they don't have some or most of these feelings. But at least I can admit, and I can admit when I hear racist comments, most of the time they make me uncomfortable. The sad part is, that sometimes, putting others down is what makes me feel better. Other times, I have no tolerance for any type of racism, sexism, agism, you name it our society is full of hatred based on stereotypes and past perceptions. I think this program is important because it brings to light what we've all been thinking, but to afraid to bring to light. What we need to gain from this, is an understanding of "why" these people got here, and how we're all on the same path.
