About the cotton and silk long-johns . . . I have found that the silk and newer fabrics will wick the moisture away from your body so you won't get a chill.  With cotton, if you move much and begin to perspire, you will be wet because cotton gets wet and holds the moisture, then you get a chill.  This is just my experience.  I like the new fabrics that wick moisture away from your body.  I know my REI store has it and has "underwear" in three different weights.  I have light-weight, but feel I will need some of the heavier stuff for winter up here! 

Little Fluff knows nothing about silk or synthetic and doesn't care because he has a very full coat he wears all the time!  :-)

REI stands for Recreational Equipment Incorporated.  It is a co-op that was organized sometime in the 1930's .  Their "home" offices are in Seattle, Washington.  They are very much like your LL Bean out on the East Coast.  I have been a member for years and I like the membership and co-op idea because I get a nice rebate at the end of each calendar year based on my purchases. 

It was 27 degrees when Little Fluff and I went out for our walk this morning.  I'm still just layering and doing fine.  I MUST get out my gloves and winter hat though!   

Never thought of sleeping in my silks - that's a really good idea.  I would not want to sleep in a turtle, but love the mock-turtles for daily wear! 

Have a great day!  It will warm up to close to 60 degrees here today so I want to get all the rest of the outdoor work done.  We can't count on many more days this warm until spring.

Good Morning Friends, 

Two weeks of poor food choices caught up with me this morning.  I was back up to 216.  I'm not a happy camper about this, but it is all the result of MY CHOICES.  I knew when I was making them that they were not good choices.  Now, there was no Halloween Candy because we didn't buy any.  It was just other things and in-between meal grazing. 

SANDRA~~Good to see you posting again.  Are you completely moved now? 

DIANE~~Yes, REI is available to everyone.  In fact, you do not need to be a member to shop there.  They have a website . . . just add "dot" com to the REI.  They do not carry the extensive line of clothing that LL Bean does.  It might be fun to take a look though! 

DEN MOM~~Good to see your post.   

I must get my day started now.  I will have surgery on my left hand tomorrow morning.  The right hand is doing very well and feeling has returned to all but the very tip of one finger on my right hand.  I am sure that I will continue to improve.  I should be able to post next Monday.  I'll try to stay caught up with reading in the meantime.
