Howdy to all WOW's from Julie.  I'm so happy to be back online in our group and I hope that everyone finds us.  Yesterday at the doctor's office my stats were 254/236/180.   It's time for me to get serious about IE.  We are just about half way settled into our new home.  All the most important boxes have been opened and now we are down to the book boxes and other such things.  Sure is a temptation to just leave them boxed!   Hope you are all well.  I'm using jbbatWOT now that we are here in our new home. WOT are the initials of the name of our new street - haha.  Love to all from Julie

Of course it is miserably hot here in Dallas just like it is everywhere in the USA.  Isn't it strange how last summer was mild and this one is awful? 

 

You made me laugh when comparing walking with weights like walking and chewing gum at the same time.  That is how I feel when I do that.  Have to keep my mind on what's going on~!  must be our age!

I bet your new Northern neighbors are blaming you for bringing heat from ElPaso up there???  haha

Seems we are having a heat wave all over the USA this summer.

 

How is the box opening going?  I started out "gangbusters" and was doing six boxes a day.  Then after I had found all the most often used things I guess I just pooped out!  Now most of what is left is books, etc. and I don't feel like playing librarian right now.  We still can't get our cars into the garage.  Probably won't be able to until weather gets cooler and we have a yard sale and get rid of a bunch of stuff!

 

My son and family are coming for a visit tomorrow.  They will stay a week with us.  They live in Chicago and have been visiting down in Houston with her family all this past week.  I hope they are not expecting Dallas to be much cooler than Houston!  It's not!

Hello WOW's

 

Just a quick note.  Our oldest son and family, from Chicago, have been here all week.  We are happy but exhausted.  Right now it is very quiet.  They've gone off to visit my EX who is Scott's father.  So, I'm taking a quiet moment to just check in and say HOWDY.

 

Lots of eating out and probably lots of cheating on my part.  When not eating out I've also been doing lots of cooking!  But also lots and lots of extra exercise with the grandchildren.  They want to go swimming twice a day at the community pool so DH or I go with them.  Guess I'll find out the results of my actions on Monday when I weigh in!!!

Good Morning Dear Friends

 

It is Wednesday, Aug. 3 here in Dallas and I am not sleeping @ 2:50AM Central Standard Time.  Today is the day for my big, big dental procedure and I am scared to death!  I have to be at the dentists office by 7AM and the procedures will be finished around 4 or 5 pm.  So many times in my past I have had really bad experiences with going to the dentist that I have just avoided going at all for the last - ummmm maybe 8 or 10 years!   So there are lots of things wrong.  I chose this new dentist because he does sedated dentristy.  Supposedly I will be sound asleep the whole time.  Tho I rather doubt it!

 

I doubt it because he prescribed a sleeping pill for me tonight and it is absolutely NOT working!  I didn't sleep much last night either......  just have the jitters about getting this work done.  I have seven cracked teeth most of them with cracked fillings also.  I have one hollow tooth with an air gap - whatever the heck that is?? Almost all of my teeth have something wrong with them.  The front top teeth are very crooked and overlap.  They have cavities between the overlapping  parts.  These top front four will be capped and then lastly all my teeth will be whitened.

 

One thing I don't have, amazingly, is gum disease.  I want to get all this over with in one big visit and have one big miserable time of pain and that will be that!''

 

PLEASE pray for me throughout this day.  Pray that the dentist will be able to get me sedated enough that it will seem like nothing is going on and I will not feel anything or know anything all day long!  Pray that I won't be the world's worst patient!  Send happy thoughts my way all day.  I hope that I am well on my way to sanity and able to post by Friday to let you all know how well I did  "hope hope hope hope"......

 

Meanwhile at least my eating will be slowed down quite a bit!  Who knows?  Maybe I'll lose a pound or two the hard way!

 

Yesterday at the diabetes doctor's office my STATS were:  233# (same as this time last year) and my blood sugar was 105.

Hello all

 

Didn't get my dentristy work done on Wednesday as planned.  I went, took the pills, but they didn't put me to sleep!  I was too difficult to sedate!  So the process was called off for now.  I'm scheduled again August 26 and with the help of an anestheologist I will have an IV and be put to sleep - for sure!

 

I'm really sad not to have it over with!  And today I'm sorda goofy feeling - not driving....  until all the effects have worn off.

Well, it's that time of year again.  DH started back to Teacher Inservices and his students come back on August 15th.  I'm ready to get back to into the swing of swimming exercises at the health club.   

  

I plan to weigh in and send stats tomorrow morning.

Good Morning everyone this is Julie sending you greetings from Dallas, Texas. 

  

I'm still here - just really busy with more and more out of town guests and remodelling and redecorating of our new house. 

  

Reporting in at 254/229/180  and this morning's blood sugar 95.  Last Thursday my A1C blood test was a wonderful 5.4  I'm back to swimming and walking the dog.  Feeling good, sleeping fairly well except for the excitement of happy events!   

  

I was supposed to have major repair on my teeth last Aug. 3rd.  It was to be a 6 hour procedure done under sedation.  Would you believe that they couldn't get me to sleep???  After 6 knock-out pills I was still wide awake!  I knew I was sleep resistant (if there is such a thing).  So we have rescheduled on Aug. 26th and there will be an anesthesiologist putting me to sleep intraveinously! I bet that will do it - haha.  I sure will be glad when that is over!

Hello All 

  

Julie here.   I've been so busy lately that I've been neglectful of all you, my friends.  Sorry. 

  

My weight is 229.  My blood sugar A1C was 5.4 on the latest test!  Whoooopeeee.  very good!  This past week my morning blood sugars averaged an exact 100.  Is that perfect - or what?  If I keep these numbers down then my weight should begin dropping too. 

  

I'm busy with redecorating and remodelling our new home.  There are painters outside doing a power wash preparing for new exterior paint.  A decorator is coming at 2pm this afternoon to help me in choosing paint colors.  At 4pm a man is coming to measure for the new shower and counter top in the master bathroom.  We are using a "fake" marble. . . it is actually ceramic but looks like marble.  Next week the carpenters and painters will be here to replace the sliding glass door with a lovely french door.  I'm really excited with all that is happening.
