PLEASE HELP !!!!

Well like everything else, when you are trying to quit smoking or have quit for a while, some days you wonder which way is UP !!!  This board, the way is designed to work, makes me wonder, which way is up^^^^^. Whoever is monitoring this board, must be sleeping, there are enough complaints, that it needs to go back to the old way!!!!!! Or at least number the letters and responses. Please do something to help us out. To fight nicotine addiction is one of the hardest type. So please make the message board easier for us to follow in helping the ones that need help.

Everybody Needs a Plan

"To be or not to be". How many times have you heard that phase? I believe it's from Shakespeare. Now put it to smoking. "To be smoke free " or "Not to be smoke free". Sometimes a particular phase will stick in our head a long time, something that we can live by.

The board has really changed, but for us to quit smoking, weeeeee had to really change. The "smoking" archives are full of helpful hints in what to do. Everybody needs a plan in conquering this addiction. I'll be here to help.

Trying to Quit Smoking?

Hi Deb

Welcome aboard. I too smoked a many years, and though the help of this board I quit. You might want to go to www.silkmeter.com , you can download a meter and that is such an incentive to keep going. Also the archives in stop smoking has a lot of helpful advice. No doubt this is hard, but once you get so far it will become easier. Are you taking Zyban or Wellbrutrin to help you in quitting. If not, they are a prescription medicine that helps take the edge off of quitting. I could not have done it without, that's for sure.

I'm from Texas, welcome.

Howdy

So nice to see some newcomers. Hope you have luck posting on this board, it has a mind of it's own. Well in quitting smoking, you have to take one step at a time, or should I say "one breath at a time". It seems the road is long at first, just trying to attempt to quit. But once you have one step behind you, there is another step in front of you, that's when you decide to go forward or step back !!! Us old timers, are here to put out a hand in helping, heaven only knows how much we reached out in the beginning.

Hi from Texas

Wow, this board woke up !!

Wow, has this board came alive!!!!

Ann--, whatever we can do to help, let us know.  You are a very strong person, you can do this again.  You have all the tools and our hand is reaching out to you to help. Whatever stress is coming your way, post on the board. You where such an inspiration, come on Ann, we are rooting for you.

Mario--, 8 months, Bravo !!! Way to go, so proud of you.

Aggie--, you are one strong and courageous lady, you have quite a few months tucked under that belt for not smoking; and some of the situations (that break-in) would have I think done me in. But in that moment you came to the board to post instead of picking up a cigarette, Kudo's to you my Lady.

Ms. Shelly--, we know those little boys are keeping you busier than busy, and the new job, hope it's working out great. The wagon is just about to pull up, time for you to jump on board, no more beating yourself up first, we can pull you through this.

Tray00--, you have stuck with this board a pretty good while now, so glad you didn't let this board die, I had my doubts ( about the board) at times. Lets find a quit date and hop on the wagon.

Gina--, way to go girl, so proud of you.  This has got to be one of the biggest wars a person has to fight, when you take that step to say "I want to be smoke free".

Welcome Shirlee--, we are so here for you.

Leasa--, you have had alot of sadness in your life in the past few months. Let's take that deep breath and say one more time, you can do it. We are here for you.

If I miss anyone, I apologize, and I hope I didn't  offend any of you, everyone has been such a life line to me in quitting smoking, that is what I want to do in return, to help. I still have to pinch myself that  I'm at 5 months, something a year ago, I didn't think I could ever do. It was totally the support of this board that pulled me through, I thank you again.
