MRSA in school

I am a teacher in Ky and the parent of one of our students said he has it and has had it for about 2 months. He attended school all during those 2 months. I have heard of schools shutting down to clean/sterilize as much as possible. Our did its usual nightly cleaning. Next day at school the staff was told not to say anything and break confidentiality or disciplinary actions would result. Obviously the health and welfare of the staff and other students is not important. How sad is that?

as a teacher

As a teacher for over 30 years, discipline is lacking in most schools. Administration is afraid of parents going to the Board so they side on the parents. Even though they know that kids know how to manipulate adults, the administration still will not take a stand. Parents foolishly believe 100 % their child instead of looking at 3 sides to a problem. This makes it difficult for teachers to lovingly discipline their students which they need to do to let learnign take place. Misinterpretation is common...think back to when you were young and the discipline you got. How many classrooms were out of control then? Fear of lawsuits is the crime!
