Please - lets be fair!

I have heard Katrina nd New Orleans until I am sick of it.       Katrina didn't have a vendetta against New Orleans.  Katrina was a massive weather system that destroyed hundreds of miles.

Regarding New Orleans - This city knew well in advance that they were facing major devastation if a hurricane of any large magnitude hit and they chose to bury their heads in the sand about maintaining their levees and such.

I don't want to downplay the devastation or the suffering in that city.  It is horrible what happened there.  But what I am so fed up with - everyone acts like ONLY NEW ORLEANS was hit.

It is not the only place of devastation.  What about the towns in Mississippi that took the direct hit?  What about the air base.  What about the other areas that were destroyed?   And what about Punta Gorda and Port Charolette, Florida that took direct hits but no one flocked there to do shows.  Thousands are still affected by those storms 2 years ago but  you don't see special shows there.    I had family there and they are sick of hearing about New Orleans while they are trying to put their lives back together too.

But in all honesty - If we are going to cover Katrina - take those cameras out of New Orleans and look at the rest of the areas hit last year by Katrina.

Lets lift our eyes beyond the obvious and shed some light in the shadows to find the truley forgotten victims of Katrina.

Lets be fair - Keep talking

I was so hopeful when I seen others that agree that to much media coverage is about New Orleans and not enough about every place else hit by Katrina and other hurricanes.

If we will speak up then the focus can change from one small area to the thousands of others that felt the impact of Katrina.

Keep talking - only then can we finally lift our eyes from the media blitz and see into the shadows and send hope to all those there that need to know - someone cares about you!

Wedding Bells thanks to Match.com

I know that Match.com is the best out there.   I found my new husband on Match.com after watching Dr. Phil talk about it.  I placed an ad and he responded.

I have tried several other online services to no avail.   I met a few men - most wanted only one thing - I refused.

What sets Match.com apart from the rest is the ability to write more about yourself and post several pictures.  Your not set up with what they think is your ideal match.  They let you browse and choose.  So if your not happy - then it is your own fault.

Now - regarding looks - I will tell you what I told my husband - I am a plain brown wrapper but the prize inside is what really counts.  And that is how I looked at who I dated.   Physical appearance fades.  And I found pretty boy on the outside was usually a self centered jerk.   I said usually so don't get all warped fellas!

Look beyond the surface and you will find a true soul mate.  I am 57 and he is 61.  We both had been married before and it didn't work out.   We were both a bit gun shy with dating.  But Match.com let us talk to folks without being self conscious about where we were or how we looked.  When we were ready - then we met.

Thank you Dr. Phil for recommending Match.com.  I had tried others and was ready to give up.  Now - we are the happiest cuople in Tennessee and we got married on December 29th as Mr. and Mrs Santa Claus.

Do not give up - and look deeper to find the real gold in that man your considering for a date.
