why why why

Why in the world do women get involved with anyone and then sneak around and drive themselves nuts snooping ?  The guys could care less - the women are just hurting themselves.  Get out and be alone for a while, learn to be confident and then and ONLY then will yu find a healthy relationship.  Mistrust and snopping is NOT healthy - funny thing about being alone is that once you do it for awhile then you are less likely to hook up with anyone that is less than what you want and deserve.  I have been happily alone for over 10 years and I date alot but I am picky in who I choose to CONTINUE to date.  No three strikes here - first one and I am gone - and I am durn proud of it too.  I dont give anyone any bull and I refuse to take it

APOLOGY???? This woman needs to walk out on this jerk  yesterday!  Anyone  who would talk to children that way needs to have Social Services involved. That is verbal abuse, and can be as detrimental as physical abuse.

As for the gastric bypass surgery.  Aren't things like that supposed to be joint decisions?

I disagree with the two peoples opinion - if i wanted something in my marriage that I KNEW was right for me and for a totally stupid reason my husband disagreed, then sorry but I would do what I wanted - in my mind a married person has just as much right to do what they want for THEMSELVES that a single person does.  My ex used to laugh at his friends when they would say GOD - you LET her do that or whatever and he wold just say that the word LET was isnt our marriage vows!  Good answer I thought !  Why was the spouse so opposed to the surgery I wonder?

As to the issue of the abusive husband - I just say RUN to the wife - why women, or men too for that matter, marry someone that they know treats their children badly is beyond my comprehension.  Shame on the parents for EVER allowing this to go on for longer than one SECOND !!!

great

I thought the show ended up terrific.  I could really see sincerity in Gary most of all - and B also.  Any man that has that much love in his heart for his wife and to call her "my world" or however he put that is just an old softy at heart.  His father should be shot for putting him through the beatings like he did.

As for John - oh please !  He was still looking for attention at the very last statement that he made.  He is a spoiled little brat that got nothing out of the experience.  Every word he spoke and every action he made was for pure attention seeking.

The other gals I really think did see things differently.  I liked the fact where they walked in the others shoes.  I have fought my wieght all my life and even though I am only 150 pounds I still feel the looks and such - I really dont care since I am 50 years old, college educated and just finally realized that I like myself too much to starve to be what society says.

interesting

I find it insteresting and very telling that the husband used the words "WE wont be getting a tummy tuck" - I would always laugh and look at my husband and say "whats this WE stuff" - sorry but its ME - I can only hope that Dr Phil gives her what she needs.  And 28 isnt "old" jeez, the guy sounds like he really just wants his wife to stay looking horrible

are we immune to rudeness?

Quote From: mickeylong

I believe that there is a lack of just plain COMMON SENSE  these days. People push by ya without saying excuse me.... nobody says please or thankyou... when women hold the door for a man they don't even say THANK YOU!  What is going on with people these days??????  Do we have to teach COMMON SENSE as a course in school also?????

FRUSTRATED IN BROWNVILLE NY

Are we becoming so used to rudeness and bad behavior that we are just immune to it ?  I think so at times.  One of my pet peeves (and I have many trust me) is the holding the door deal - I have had grown men going out a door, look behind them and clearly see me coming and shut the door on purpose.  And the ones that dont say thank you - men AND women alike - are the ones I say loudly YOU ARE WELCOME have a great day ! to.

This happened a few months ago - I went to a Staples and was buying some computer paper - no one was in the checkout line so I walked in grabbed my stuff off the shelf and walked up to pay for it.  Well my god, this fat b**** who had been over looking at the shelves - STILL SHOPPING mind you - came RUNNING over and practicallay knocked me down and shouted I was here first - and I said well you werent standing here.  But she PUSHED me back again and I just sighed and let her go ahead - and she tossed my paper off the counter back in my direction.  THAT did it - I took the paper and tossed it back on the counter - there was plenty of room but OOPS - it landed on a tiny tiny part of her hand and she let out a scream that you would have thought she was being killed and she yelled THAT HURT !!  And I said well whatever - then she said to the clerk - wow some people are SO rude and I said well hun I am glad you recognize your own behavior, now FIX IT !   Too bad I live in a town of over 450,000 people - I would love to run into this woman again - lol

Rude kids!!

As for the woman who needs "stress management" in order to deal with her rude family: girl, you don't need "stress management"; you need a new family, or at least a less rude one!!!  Dr. Phil called this one way wrong; maybe it's too late to reform her kids (who raised them?), but at least she can continue to eat in peace in her own quiet room.

I so agree with this - Dr Phil did make a comment on the woman must know that the kids knew it bugger her and then kind of laughed it off.  All of those kids need a good smack down and a lecture on the parents are them and they are the kids and they follow the parents rules and the father was just as bad.  I doubt very sincerely that his way of chewing the sunflower seeds was a normal way - more than likely exaggerated but that isn't my point.  Those kids clearly had a gleeful look in their eyes when they were popping their gum and making noises and doing it on purpose and then smiling about it.  They are little brats that need a smack down big time. I am a little hard of hearing but I can hear when people blow bubbles and smack their gum and in an office setting of corporate America, sorry but you look like a cow chewing cud and it is NOT professional at all.  And on top of that adults should know to keep their gum in their durn mouth.  I am 50 by the way and I have hated gum chewers that were obvious and loud and rude since I started working at age 16.  My friends and coworkers all knew that when they blew a bubble or snapped their gum I would come out of my office and just stare til they got the point to knock it off.  Gum belongs in one's mouth and not to be shared for others to see, I dont wanna see it thats for sure and I dont need anger or stress management - they need training on what is proper behavior for an adult.  And by the way my kids and grandkids chewed their gum better than alot of adults I knew but then again they knew better than to test me or push me - they learned respect at a young age and are still that way as grown people

That girl is trash. She dressed like trash and now she is behaving like low class trash. Southwest was entirely correct in asking her to cover herself. When I first heard of this story, I heard that a woman was kicked off a flight because she was wearing a short skirt and no underwear. I then saw her on the Today show.....and saw way more of her than I am comfortable with! If NBC thought her attire obscene and had to censor it, why is anyone questioning Southwest? Southwest only went wrong in giving an apology. They were in the right and Ms. Ebbert was wrong.

It isn't even so much a question of decency as it is a matter of sanitation. If I have to pay for a seat on a public conveyance, I don't want to sit where some tart has sat w/o her underwear in a micro mini....who knows what diseases she is carrying!

Every flight I have been on has a disclaimer on the boarding pass stating that the airline reserves the right to remove anyone for any reason. Ms. Ebbert was dressed in an obscene fashion....no decent restaurant or other public place would offer her service, why should an airline? That girl needs a lesson in dignity and respect.

This has gone far enough. Ms. Ebbert got all the attention she craved, now it is time to let her crawl back under the rock she calls home.

While I think her outfit was a bit over the top it was hardly obscene and you must not live in Arizona as I do since I can walk into most places and see women dressed this way with no problem.  On my recent flight on United I wore a strapless top that was long and down past my hips with a pair of stretch capris and flip flops but perhaps it was because I am 50 years old, but still trim enough to wear this type of stuff and it wasnt out of line in any sense of the word, (it was appropriate for Arizona summers) but I didnt hear a peep.  Maybe if I had the body this gal did it would have been an issue - but then again I did have my legs covered but it never crossed my mind

Diseases ??? Are you KIDDING me ?  Get a life if you have to wonder about diseases based on what people wear.  Jeez, that isnt even practical or a logical statement

Takes two to make the marriage

First off I saw the sincerity in Jerry's face and words and on the hatred and closed mindedness in Kayla. The mother cant be totally innocent, sorry. If Jerry and his brother and others all knew that the woman was sleeping with someone else why didn't Dr Phil go to the trouble of verifying if his best friend back then had, indeed, lived with the mother ? It would have been easily verifiable through old records I would think. But a couple of things really struck me as off. First off, Micah could have gotten ahold of his father through his sister since he called home to her often. And to blame a man for what a grown man did at age 23 I think it was is ridiculous. Sure, the father didn't do right by exposing his teen son to the drinking but at some point that same kid became a man and had to take responsibility for the fact that he was doing drugs and caused his own troubles in the fact that he owed money and then shot himself. The fact that he blew his brains out in front of a cop was in no way Jerry's fault for his behavior almost 10 years prior. And the second thing I really thought was telling was that Kayla was so quick to jump on Jerry for not being there to "prevent" Micah's death but then in the next breath she said she was so close to him - well, then why didn't SHE see the problems her own brother was having and SHE stop him from blowing his brains out ? I am not saying she had any responsibility in the father leaving but if she wants to throw out the blame dart for the father then she needs to perhaps look inside herself and take the same responsibility she is asking of her father. I just thought it was totally ridiculous to say that she was so close to her brother and how well she knew him when obviously she didn't know him all that well, or if she then did that mean she KNEW about the drug and money problems and did nothing about it like she wanted Jerry to? No one could have stopped Micah from ending his life the way he did - he made the choices he made, NOT Jerry and to blame a man ten years after the fact for the choices that a GROWN MAN made for himself and his family is totally unfair and doesn't even make any sense. My children's mother left them when they were very young and it was the best thing the woman could have done for the girls, now all grown with children of their own and as they became mothers themselves they came to understand a little bit better why it was best their father had sole custody of them (and this was back in 1976 when it was almost unheard of for a father to do that) so I don't think that Micah is too mature or a good enough mother if she cant see that for herself that her kids would also be better off without her if she had mental or drinking problems. Dr Phil missed the boat by not bringing up to Kayla why SHE didn't help her brother if she was so darn close to him, he preferred to let that comment slide and let them all bash Jerry. Good Luck Jerry is all I have to say in closing
