Bee Sting Therapy

Quote From: bdbarry

I am a faithful follower of Dr.Phil Show, I never thought I would ever, ever have to write to someone to help me with my own illness, which to this point I thought I was managing fairly well, until tonight....a quick history, became quite ill at the age of 43, after extensive diagnostic tests, I learned I have Muscular Dystrophy, I was working full time and loved it, I could drive anywhere and loved it, now 10 yrs. later at the age of 53, Muscular Dystrophy has taken over my life, I can't walk very far, although I am still able to shuffle about, heaven forbid I should trip...I can't get out of regular chair, without assistance, I can't get out of any low riding vehicles, without assistance, food doesn't impress me anymore, could take it or leave it, after all these years of coping with this disease, I have been having seizures for the last couple of months, I don't know I am having or had them until I can't remember something, it is getting more and more frequent..I am scared to death...I cry at a drop of a hat, don't even need the hat, I cry all the time, it seems for no reason, I get confused, my whole body has sensations that I have never felt before, burning up and down my arms into my fingers, not even really a burning sensation, just alot of pain, I am on alot of medication to try to control the seizures now....but for the life of me I can't seem to deal with this new part of my illness...I thought I handled my illness very well in the beginning, people have said they never knew I was ill, I hid it well...but as the disease progresses, I am getting more and more paranoid, of what's to come, God willing i will be around alot more years, if I can just get a grip on what life is handing me now. I have a wonderful husband, we just celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary, we have a wonderful son Danny who is 32 yrs. old...and two adorable cats, the comedy relief team...my husband has been unwavering, he has been through it all with me, through think and thin, I knew I made the right choice when I married him and we said it would be forever, cause it has and will be, my son has been another rock in my life, as his mother I can do no wrong, according to him, he is my precious gem....I'm so sorry if i have rambled on, but it seems I have found my niche, I guess I just needed to vent, i really, really appreciate anyone who reads this. Hopefully life won't throw anything more my way for a while, however a grandchild would be nice..Thanks so much for taking the time to read my mail I feel a little better  warmest regards from Windsor, Ontario, Canada  Dale   aka  bdbarry
The following is a website for bee sting therapy. It sounds scary, but if it works and is similar to getting a shot, why not give it a try. I have heard raves about it. I hope it helps. http://health.discovery.com/centers/althealth/beetherapy/

Quote From: joensharon

My Name is sharon. I have a son who is 19 years old..in the last two years he has been in the hospital 9 times.....been to the emergency room countless times. has had two surgries. The first one was to remove his appedndix but it was fine, the second sugrie was about a month ago , that one was exploritory....they found nothing... he has lost 25 pounds in two months weights only 115. He has severe abdominal pian, and severe vomiting.. white blood sell count very high, pottasium levels drop. has had so many test, but can't seem to find out what is wrong with him. he had this when he was 8 months old. was in the hospital for a weekfor the same symptoms, then again at the age of 10, again same symptoms... doctors didnt know what it was....when he turned 18 it started again, but this time hasent stopped, it slowed down for a couple of months, but for the past 4 months he has been sick enough to be hospitalized 4 times....and in between being in the hospital, he is still sick but, not to where he has to go in again.....the doctors are baffeled....they have not a clue..my son talkes about suicide, he cant handle the pain anymore. just this morning he asked me what i would do if he wasn't here anymore.....that just ripped my heart out...i cant even phythom that thought....please can someone help us.....is anyone even hearing us. I have wrote to Dr. Phil three times now. i am posting this letter...my son is so depressed........we dont ever ask for help....but we need help really bad. i dont know what else to do. i am almost possitive that Dr. Phil and Robin could help us...or anybody who see'e this message. if you could help us i'm sure God will bless you............
The high white cell count indicates infection and the low potassium indicates possible autoimmune issues. Because it has been intermittent I would say that an allergy test would be a good start. Whatever cannot be tested with an allergy test can then be removed to find out if that is the culprit. slow introduction of each of these items one at a time and for three days is the answer. Should there be a negative response to an item remove all of it immediately. Allergies can be deadly and should be carefully monitored. Consult a specialist if a general test shows some allergies. Shots are available and can help to a degree. I fully expect you to say that the doctors have checked for this already, but with such severe symptoms they may have thought it was something more serious and deadly in nature and overlooked the possibility of this. I hope this helps.

You didn't say

Motor Neruone Disease.

Hi was just wondering if anyone here has had someone they know of who has ended up with this disease?!

My Dad was told early on this year that he had MND or Lou Gehrig's Disease or ALS and even thought he is doing quite well right now I know that one day things will be very different for him and for my family, so if there is anyone here that can give me some information on what life could end up being like for my dear Dad then I would be more than thankful.

Please TAKE CARE, LOVE KELLY.

You didn't say whether it was familial or not. This can make a difference in the treatment. If it is familial the enzyme superoxide dismutase plays an important part. When this enzyme is healthy, it deactivates free-radicals, biproducts of metabolism which can destroy cells. Believe it or not there is a resolution near to use whether familial or not. Keep looking.

More Info Needed

Quote From: dkhurst

I would like to start by saying my 14 year old daughter has had ear infections from 5 months old until about 3 years old.  She had her first and only set of tubes when she was two.  She has had several audiology exams and her hearing has deteriated for the last 7 years.  She has worn digital programmable hearing aides for two years now and in Sept of 05 she had her hearing checked again which by the way is checked yearly, and she has 85% loss in the higher decible ranges.  I wanted to know if anyone else has this condition and what has taken place in your course of treatment.  I know we face the possibility of her losing her hearing at any time and we ( my daughter and I), life could be worse.  God willing she will not have any further hearing loss but it's out of my control all I can do is pray.  Thank you for reading my post and god bless all of you.
Have you done a stimulation test to show definite deficiency of GH while other endocrine work was normal. Is it possible that the growth hormone deficiency is not the cause of short stature in MGS patients but possibly it contributes to the severity of growth deficiency later on in life and hence affects their ultimate height? If growth hormone supplementation was started, but it is too early to draw conclusions, consider that it is important to regularly check growth hormone, including performing Clonidine stimulation tests in patients with MGS, on regular bases in the first years of life before puberty. This may be too late since there are quite a few hormones added to meat products for quicker growth in animals. I assume that this action was done, but there has not been any details included as to what has been done.
