Why didn' t Dr. Phil help Dan? Because to give Dan a dollar today will insure the suffering of Dans family tomorrow. Dan hasn't worked at a real job sence 1988, he has tried every get rich scam there is and has bled family members of their hard worked money. Dan was there for another hand out.

Dan can take a different road, but he should build the road himself, anything of worth is worth working for. A dream is only as strong as the dreamer. All the sayings we have didn't come from people with their hands out , they are willing to work to make them come true, two jobs one to take care of his family another to go to his dream. Dan has suffered nothing, he does not do his the best for his family, if he did they would not need another handout and Dan would be working toward that american dream.

I also have this show taped and will probably review it, thanx for the clarification I was a bit confused about this, [when the sister said "her" parents, I thought it had been Jannas mom/stepdad (and it was) but the other side too? So apparently Dan and Janna have taken money from both sides of the family., good thing they did help, but as I have stated several times I do think its time for Dan to get a fulltime job, perhaps even Janna so that they can catch up, and so that this won't happen anymore., also I think it would be an enormous gesture, even obligation if you will,  on their part to PAY BACK those whom have helped them with money, it is NOT right to continously take and not give back, especially for those whom had to use their hard-earned retirement money. I know that somewhere in the Bible there is scripture to the effect of not borrowing or lending .. (or was that just Shakespeare? LOL) but it is commonsense, to repay what one has borrowed; a gift is something else., that does not require payback, per se.
