sister in laws

does anyone else have a sister in law that does not like you?

i have one and  not sure why she doesn't

and one of my family members gets along with her so well that it is like she takes her side before me

christmas shopping for example

we went out to do some and i was getting some things and are limit is $75

so i had bought 4 things and evidently that was not enough

so my other family member said that they would pay for it and i could pay them back

i said no that is enough.

i am a single mother and usually christmas is about the kids anyway

am i right?

well anyway i said no and the other family member said well maybe we should have lowered the limit

like i could not afford to buy anymore

i mean one of the items i had bought the sister in law was a crock pot and that was $35 alone

am i right or am i wrong in thinking this way?

let me know

hi there

Quote From: ritehere

I have had gifts over the years that were inexpensive and sometimes handmade. It's an old thought, but true: It's the thought that counts. If you're a single mother they should be content that you remember them in a card! I think the whole thing has gotten way out of hand, and the big clue is when you hear the news broadcasters giving the latest on how the retailers are making out this season, and whether this Christmas will help for a profitable year. It's scary to think our economy has sunk to the level where spending on a lot of disposable junk becomes the make or break criteria. And we all fall for it in larger numbers every year.
Hooray for you, stick to your well deserved ground.

thanks for the advice

that is the way i feel

the holidays have gotten way out of hand as far as how much you buy someone

i mean i have bought my son 6 things

not big things but nice things

and the person that was saying maybe we should have lowered the limit is my own sister

now that is hitting where it hurts

i mean she is family

but oh well

 we will get thru it

we are having christmas at my apartment so that will be fun

my son is going to have christmas day with his dad for the first time

he is usually with me

my b/f is going to have christmas eve at his place

me and my son are going to have christmas eve at my parents house

when we get done there then his dad will pick him up and i might go out to my b/f's

depending on the weather and how late it is

thank again

jenny in indiana

living together

Quote From: cpknight

He needs to get a swift kick in the _ _ _!!!!!!  What makes you think he will change when you get married?  He won't change.  They always say, when the time is right, well it seems to me that the time has come and gone.  You need to tell him to move out or you will get him moved out with the police.  If he doesn't pay anything now, he won't be paying anything later.

By all rights he should be paying for  the water bill, electric, house payment, and all the other things that come with owning a house.  Does he even do the yard work?

I ended  a relationship with a guy that said my responsiblity is the inside of the house and he was responsible for the outside of the house.  I ended up mowing the yard just about every week as well as the inside of the house.  He said I even had to change the toilet paper roll, after he emptied it.  I said, "I don't think so"  You emptied it  you replace it.  When I moved out he still hadn't done it for 2 weeks maybe even longer.

Hope this helps you

well has he even asked you to marry him yet

me and my b/f have been together going on 3 yrs

and this christmas i believe he is going to ask me

we have talked about the living together thing but i have been there and done that

and never got married

we get along great btu don't live together

i think your b/f needs to get it together

i mean i don't want to spend the rest of my life dating my b/f

and i am sure you don't want that either

has he been married before?

single of one 7 yr old boy

are all boys like mine or am i doing something wrong

i am a single parent of a 7 yr old boy

he has tendency to smart back and disrespect me with the things he says

is this a phase or is there something i can do to take control of this before he gets to old to do anything about it?

he does see his dad and not sure if that is having an effect on his attitude

i don't think his dad respects women at all

i have tried taking toys away and i have spanked him on occasion

not sure if that is the answer

let me know

thank you

hi

Quote From: boohbah78

Hello,

This is my first posting on this website.  Today I've discovered that my 8 yr old daughter surfed the web and found porn (lots) and she really browsed around.  I also think she has been doing it for the past few days.  She doesn't really know about sex (except that it is something a mommy and daddy does when they love each other), but now she saw all this horrible things.  How do I explain it to her?  What do I say?  I know she is a very innocent child and was just curious, but I didn't want her to learn about sex that way, how do I handle this?  Please give me your advice.  (And no, I DON"T think children should look at porn, and I DON'T think it is okay either).

why is an 8 yr old surfing the net anyway?
