01/05 "Am I Cursed?"

Quote From: carmenbond

Keep a tape recorder by your bed.  When you awake and hear your husband "speaking in tongues" record it.  The next day you can not only let him hear it but take it to a local college or contact a linguest (sorry about the spelling) to see if they can figure out if it is possibly a known launguage or is, as Dr. Phil has suggested, jibberish the brain is producing out of the mass amounts of stress we put on ourselves daily (my own words here from what I've "interpreted" Dr. Phil to be saying).
That's what I was thinking- I want to hear a tape and a linguist's opinion!  That would tell you real quick if this was a real language (assuming it's not extinct or unknown language, which is possible, but her husband said it sounds like Latin.)

01/05 "Am I Cursed?"

Quote From: bella123

I just watched the the show where people think they are cursed or possesed.  I have witnessed an excorcisim first hand and I do believe these things really happen.  I thought that having witnessed this I would be scared for life but I have gone on and lead a normal life.  I believe that I could not have gotten through it with out God.  He has helped me to put the trauma behind me and have a normal life.  With therapy and prayer my nightmares are behind me.
I have experienced excercisms also.  Well, three.  One of a friend in college.  They only let one other student in there during the excercism, which was myself.  It is so dangerous to have unprotected/spiritually weak individuals present during the exercism.  I was so upset to hear that the father was bringing people into the home to be excercised.  That is so dangerous!  Especially to have children in the house.  Not only is it spiritually dangerous, but it's dangerous psychologically as well.

I have to say I am very impressed that DR Phil gave his opinion on the subject.  I think he did an excellent job.

The second and third exercisms were my own.  When I was little my mom tried to excercise me because I was so terrible.  Since then I have been diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome, which is a high functioning form of autism.  This caused much of my behaviour, including adversion to being touched.  When I was older, my parents thought I was possesed because I had been raped and then became promiscous with the rapist, and later a boyfriend.  They felt that ment I was posessed, and I wasn't!  I can understand how that poor lady felt, even if she was possesed.  I was so angry and hurt.  I don't think I've ever gotten over it.

On another note, my grandmother was very obviously possessed.  She had other voices (including male) that spoke through her and she had super human strength (weighed 65 lbs,
hadn't eaten in a week, but it took four large male nurses to hold her down.)  She tried to kill her son, who lived with her.  She was really messed up, and the psychologists who evaluated her said she was fine.  We put her in a nursing home and shortly thereafter she behaved normally.  I supose the demons left her and went into others in the retirement home.

I think that it's humorous that people automatically assume that the woman with 'night terrors' isn't having a paranormal experience but rather some kind of sleep disorder.  We haven't heard the 'tongues' or a linguist's evaluation.  If she really is speaking in Latin (as her husband suposed) then wouldn't that rule out a sleep disorder?
I posted this yesterday in response to a post, not seeing how to start my own post.  So, here is a reposting.  I hope that the woman who had been 'excercised' is able to read my message, since I know somewhat how she feels concerning her father/family.
I have experienced excercisms also.  Well, three.  One of a friend in college.  They only let one other student in there during the excercism, which was myself.  It is so dangerous to have unprotected/spiritually weak individuals present during the exercism, and I was the only student they thought would be ok in there.  I was so upset to hear that the father was bringing people into the home to be excercised.  That is so dangerous!  Especially to have children in the house.  Not only is it spiritually dangerous, but it's dangerous psychologically as well, as we have seen in this poor lady.
The second and third exercisms were my own.  When I was little my mom tried to excercise me because I was so terrible.  Since then I have been diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome, which is a high functioning form of autism.  This caused much of my behaviour, including adversion to being touched.  In Mom's defence, since my daughter also aparently has AS and I experience the daily meltdowns and behavioural problems my mom had with me, I can see how she was concerned that I might be possesed!  When I was older, my parents thought I was possesed because I had been raped and then became promiscous with the rapist, and later a boyfriend.  They felt that ment I was posessed, and I wasn't!  I was in my twenties, and was absolutely horrified that they were doing this to me.
I can understand how that poor lady felt, even if she was possesed.  I was so angry and hurt.  I don't think I've ever gotten over it.  If she was possesed, then I agree wtih her parents trying to get the demons out, but the situation should have never hapened to begin with.  Her father should have protected his family.

I do want to add that I was very impressed that DR Phil gave his opinion and thought he did an excellent job!

01/05 "Am I Cursed?"

Quote From: stefmars

Did anyone notice? When Holly described one of her dreams, did she not specifically mention seeing 4 dark figures which she then banished by commanding them each to Hell?  And, didn't Sharon list 4 demons she feels torment her?

Perhaps Holly has been doing battle on the behalf of someone she only met yesterday.

Dr. Phil often says he believes things happen for a reason....Sharon was so sad and worried about what potentially having demons might do to her salvation.  Maybe there's a message to Sharon to Fear not!  You are so precious that Angels fight for you when you aren't even aware.

I was struck by a resonance between these 2 stories, but I may simply remember the dream wrong.

It hadn't occured to me, but it certainly is possible.

A great book on this subject is Bob Larson's Spiritual Warfare Book. It can be purchase at his web site. He also have a church in Phoenix, AZ where you can go for deliverance and curse breaking. There are other churches like that to call Spiritual Freedom Church. I saw their web site at spiritualfreedomchurch.org
A book I frequently recomend is Johanna Michaelson's The Beautiful Side of Evil.

01/05 "Am I Cursed?"

A great book on the topic of curses and demonic influences is Johanna Michaleson's book "The Beautiful Side of Evil."  I highly recomend it!  Someone mentioned how prevalent curses are in South America.  Michaelson was from Mexico, and became involved with a 'fatih surgeon.'  She saw a TARANTULA cut off someone's neck (I think it was his neck.)  It was origionally a tumor, but they knew it was a curse.  They used no anesthesia and the surgeon cut the tumor off, and it was a tarantula!  This is an amazing book and a real eye opener.

I have AS

I am sorry to see that AS is portrayed as a condition that makes one act in  a violent manner.  As a very young child I would bite myself and bang my head on the ground and wall.  I would also yell at my parents and say aweful things.  My daughter, who I believe has AS, also bangs her head on the concrete when we are out.  I see, though, that she does it when she is extremely stressed because of her enviroment.  This boy's parents deffinitely encouraged a stressful enviroment at home, and I'm sure school was pretty bad too.  I haven't finished watching the episode, but so far I am very disapointed.  When will Dr Phil do a show about the GOOD things in AS?  How are parents to recognise that their child may have AS when the violent side is what is stressed, and their child isn't particularly violent?

As a side note, when I began homeschooling I experienced alot less stress.  My daughter is HORRIBLE when she comes home from Mother's Day Out (which she attends one day a week for three hours.)  I will most likely homeschool her as well.

For those who have explosive children, I recomend reading "The Explosive Child."  It really helped alot in understanding myself and my daughter concerning this issue.

01/17 Extreme Disorders

Quote From: _babygirl_

My son Jordan was diagnosed with Asperger's a little over a year ago. He will be 11 in April and this is all new to us! I have been struggling with what was different about Jordan since he didn't talk by age two. He finally got help around the age of 3 1/2. But he was always just labeled as student with a disability. I have gone from place to place trying to get a name to what the disability was!! When he entered into school it was a BATTLE every day! Teachers, principles, counselors calling me about my "Bad" child. I was at the point of pulling him out of school and home schooling him. I was so sick of hitting a wall when I tried to get my son help from the professionals and all I got was a run around. FINALLY by a whim I took my son for yet another evaluation where it was finally recognized as Asperger's. This year is the first year Jordan was taken out of public school and put in a school for children with disabilities. Things are going a little better, but Jordan still needs more. And once again I am getting the "dumb" look from everyone about where I can get him help.

Can anyone please help!?! Jordan is about to be a teenager in a few years and this is a new to us. I just want my son to be able to go through life as normal as possible. He is such a loving boy, the sweetest I know. But he keeps getting shoved to the side by the system and I don't want him lost. I just want to get him the help he needs.

It took us 10 years to find out what the disability was, I don't want it to take another 10 years to find the help he needs!!

Thank you for your time!!!

There's so many books with great info, and lots of online resources.  I'm member of a homeschool asperger's group.  You don't have to be a homeschooler to join. www.aslearningathome.com

I have AS.  I'm 26.  I have a daughter, 3, who also has AS.  I would be happy to help anyway I can.

Raising a Special Needs Child

Quote From: enchant14

My oldest son has recently been diagnosed with Aspergers.  He was previously diagnosed with Sensory integration disorder.  He is now in kindergarden and he is in a regular classroom.  The teacher is having a hard time getting him to do his work and concentrate on what he is supposed to do.  The only other classroom option seems to be the special education room that has children that are much more handicaped than him.  I do not believe that he fits into the regular classroom or the special education room.  Their does not seem to be a place for children like him in public school.  We do not have the money for me to home school him or to place him in private school.  Are their any other options that I do not know about?

Is the money problem  where homeschooling is concerned because you work outside the home?  There are work from home possibilities.  My mom was a nanny while she homeschooled my sister and I.  It doesn't have to cost alot to homeschool, either.  You can use the library, and even do things as simply as using the "What Every (insert grade level here) Needs To Know."

Please join us at www.aslearningathome.com for more ideas...
