As I watched your show with the segment on Jasmine the overweight 11 year old. I saw my Granddaughter Kayla. I have been so concern about her weight sense she was five. She is now 12. Every time our girl comes to visit I see that she appears to have put on more weight. Two weeks ago Kayla stayed over night with us. With just the two of us up on Saturday Morning Kayla and I had a talk about her weight. I asked Kayla if she would be willing to weigh herself.  She weighed in at 218 lbs. I was shocked mainly because she weighed more than me. I weigh 210 lbs and have for ten years no matter what I do I can't break 200lbs. Any way I decided to take Kayla's blood pressure it was: 160/92 very high for a young girl. When her mother came and picked her up I let her know she was killing her daughter out of Kayla's ear shot. Moms response was I didn't know she weighed that much Kayla told me she weighed 145 lbs. Now I know I am a Meddling Grandma. But when you add what actually started Kayla's weight gain at the age of five, and Mom won't follow through with the proper help, yes I will take that Title proudly. You see Kayla was molested and physically abused(ending up with a broken arm) at five until she was eight by her mothers boyfriend at the time. It has just come out to us that he had threaten Kayla about telling anyone. Her visits to us at that time were cut back extreme. When we had practically raised her for three years because Mom couldn't, after Kayla's Father died of a heart attack when Kayla was two. Kayla's dad had been taking care of her at the time while Mom was working. The police figured that Kayla had been alone in the house for at least two hours when her dad died about 5:00 p.m. And Mom didn't get home from work until 7:00 p.m. When Kayla was allowed to come and stay I notice bruises in places where they shouldn't be and Kayla would have redness in her private areas that her Mom called yeast infections. When I would ask  Mom she would say: Oh she fell or she has a yeast infection (This little girl according to her mom always had a yeast infection but no Dr. visits to get medication to clear it up). It wasn't until Kayla was nine  and this boyfriend disappeared that the truth came out. (by the way he is now sitting in jail waiting for a trial date which will cause more issues for Kayla) Kayla did have therapy  for about two months Mom said the Dr. stated she would be OK and never continued. And as far  taking Kayla to the Doctor for her weight Mom doesn't I know this because I go to the same Dr. Kayla is very depressed. She told me The kids make fun of her, She wears very big sweats to hide her weight. I know Mom loves her girl but as Kayla put it she is always working and never around to talk to or when she is Mom isn't willing to sit down and talk. I even went out and bought Jays book for her and her Mom to read but it came back unused. With heart decease running on both sides of the family(both parents had heart birth defects) I am very concerned that Kayla won't live to be very old. If there is anything you can do to help this family Dr. Phil it would be appreciated Even just opening up Mom And Kayla's Step dad's eyes. They both love her but I feel they just don't know where to turn or do.  Thank you Grandma Jyn

I don't even have to watch this show to know what Erica is going through. I see it playing out with my best friend and her two Grandchildren. And maybe this isn't the show for this message but it will be in these two children's future.

You see on Nov. 5, 2006 my best friends daughter was killed by her boyfriend in front of their two children. He insist it was an accident. Bull----. An accident may be shooting a person once. but when you shot a person at point blank range three times it is not an accident. My friend has been fighting for permanent custody for these two children every sense this has happened. But our so called wonderful court system gave temporary custody two his parents. how cruel is that . Considering they have one son in prison the Grandfather believes women are second class citizen. And treats his wife and daughter as such.  And their youngest is up for murder. Now I was informed this morning that the murderer has been let out on bail. This is a person who is suppose to have no contact at all with his children until after his trial which has now been moved to May 2007. This is a murderer who to make his son of 5 year old behave would put a monster mask on to spank him. And apparently had the mask on when he shot the children's mother, in front of both children According to both children.  And now he is out on bail. Now like Erica one of two things is going to happen between now and May.

(1) This ---hole is either going to jump bale and run with his dad and the two children to keep from going to jail. (the father has already made it clear this is one of his plans. Or

(2) This ---hole will jump bale and run to keep from going to prison more than likely with his son but not his daughter of three years old.

Therefore the little girl as she gets older will be like Erica wondering who her father is and why did he leave her. I swear I just don't understand all this senseless murder. And why people can't think about the children who are the one's hurt in all this.  I can't wait to hear how Erica ordeal come to an end. I feel for her. I just pray to God that these two little ones don't have to deal with the same issues. I know if they were with their mothers parents they would be getting the help they are both going to need. Something they are not getting from the other Grandparents(the Grandfather says they don't need it there's nothing wrong with them) except for the meeting the courts said they have to be seen for.

I just want to say Thank you for letting me vent this morning. I pray that both these issues are taken care of the right way.
