nooses

Re:  Dog the bounty hunter.  I am appalled that his son sold him out but I can understand the son's rage at his father.

nooses:  I am 65 years old and never, ever thought of nooses as a symbol of Halloween.  Apparently both my husband and I missed that one.  When I see an effigy hanging from a noose I think of Guy Faulk's Day.  Apparently we are among the few who were so naive.

Dog is not a man of few words or meek opinions.  Cut him some slack.  He should be embarrassed and harassed as is being done but not lose his job.  He should be ashamed of himself to have a tirade over the phone with a grown son.  Sometimes parents have to butt out.  I'm sure his son knows exactly what he feels from face-to-face confrontations.

won't say I love you

Darren, never buys gifts or cards. She says he told her he loved her when they got married, and he'll "let her know if it changes!

This is just plain mean.  It sounds as if he's chuckling to himself at having bested her.  I wonder if he acts in a loving way?  No love talk during sex?

superbug

I have a friend who went in for a hip replacement (needed a new joint because the one already in was 20 years old and failing).  She had two knee replacements and the other hip replaced.  This time she didn't feel right when the doctor sent her home.  She wasn't diagnosed with MRSA, but she spent a year in a rehabilitation center, returning to the hospital twice because of infections.  The doctor doesn't want to risk another operation, so she sits in a wheelchair without a hip.

Another friend had complications, too, and was on all sorts of IVs at the hospital and at home.  His attitude is that there are germs all over your own body and such infections happen despite the best attempts to stop them.

These articles tell about things you can do to reduce the risk of infection while in the hospital.
