01/04 Unforgettable Weight Stories
Quote From: jettavI can't give you much advice here as I just started curves last week and I love it already. My goal is to lose 75 lbs. I think too the imporant thing is what and how you eat. I don't typically buy a lot of junk food but I am cutting it out completely for at least two weeks and then not buying it for home. I told my family that it is better that when we want an ice cream,( abig down fall in our house :), we will just go to the UDF and get one and that way there will be so seconds. Alos I think serving nutricious snacks is a good thing. I am not a smoker so I can't help you there, but want o wish you luck and know that you are not on this journey alone. I've been going to curves for almost one year (March). I was 325.5 when I started. I have lost 148 pounds and 95 total inches. Curves works with you, but like Dr. Phil says, you have to be committed and work really hard. I have set several different goals. As I reach one, I make another. My first goal was to get to 180 pounds. I did that. Next was 170. I'm seven pounds away from that. My next goal is 150, which for my height (5'10') is ideal. My final goal is to learn to maintain my "new me"! I go to Curves three times a week, and this week I have started walking thirty minutes in the afternoon. They weigh and measure you once a month, that's your accountability. You have to realize, there will be ups and downs, and plateaus along the way, but don't give up. You might lose big at first, then slow to a little. If you keep going and stay focused, you will see big results before you know it. I have not had any gains and I hope I don't. Read Dr. Phil's books, and get on the computer and learn nutrition. It's amazing what you can eat that will work with you and never be hungry or deprived feeling. If your a sweet nut like me, put fresh fruit in your diet all three meals and snacks. I don't even think about sweets anymore. If I can do this at age 50, anyone can. Good Luck, and STAY FOCUSED!!! Email me if you need more encouragement.
