Just a little smile

Quote From: jeepinacj5

You know I keep praying to the higher power and I am not getting any responce.  I just am having a real hard time with life right now, every thing I loved about life is going away, becouse she will not get help.  Thank You for being there.
Someone Smile Today  That is something you can do.  Even if it's just you to do the smiling.  If your wife doesn't want to get help, then you can't do any more than what you've been doing.
Big HugI hope you are feeling this hug coming your way.  It sounds like you need it.  Some fresh air will also probably do you the world of good, too.  Go for a walk.  Get out of the house.  Meet the neighbours.  They might be able to supply a different perspective as well.

well, i can tell you this much, i am pregnant with my fifth child. I never had heartburn until I began having kids, so much so that with my first one it went unrecognized for a while!  What I have found the best for me, is, of course, rolaids or tums.  BUt, for that massive heartburn that comes right back....I make hot tea, mint or peppermint, and out a few drops of milk in it!  Sounds gross mayybe, but its really not that bad in taste...and the reilef is HEAVEN SENT!!!!!!!!  I hope it works for you!!!!  Congratulations on the baby btw!!

The hint you gave about peppermint tea seems to be working so far. Woohoo Though my sister suggests that maybe I should try every remedy and not rely on just one at a time.  So if you have any other suggestions, I'm all ears.

Hello

I haven't been here for a while and I'm amazed at how many posts I've missed.  Just trying to catch up is going to take forever.   Faint Though it gets hard to keep up when most of you are asleep when I'm on and vice versa.  The best chance I get to take part is either in the early morning or early afternoon, Australia time.  Oh well, I'll manage I guess.

It has been fun reading all those humorous posts.  They really got me laughing.  I especially liked the one about dealing with the telemarketers.  They seem to like calling us at dinnertime.  It's very awkward with to small kids to feed.  Does everyone have the same problem?  It must be a worldwide epidemic, for which there is no cure.

Persistance

Quote From: udontwanna

We have started our son on Potty Training, but it seems as though nothing is working. Flushing the tiolet, reading him books while he's on the toilet, keeping him busy, but it seems as though the minute he's off the potty he pees in his diaper, and he doesn't want anything to do with it. He's 2 1\2 years old. and we want to send him to pre-school next year, but not sure how long it will take to get him trained.

Any suggestions?

The only suggestion I can offer is: try a ping pong ball in the toilet bowl.  Use it as a target, see if your son can hit the ball and make it spin.  I tried it and it seemed to be effective.  Otherwise, it seems as if maybe your son's not emotionally ready for such a big step.  But every child is different.

It sounds weird, I know, but let him watch you use the toilet so he can see how it's done.  They seem to learn by example.  I used that method and it seemed that my son got the idea fairly quickly.

Keep trying, don't give up. Try not to lose your patience with him.   He will get it eventually.  And when he does, show him how proud you are of your "big" boy.  Tell him how grown up he's being.

It will  all work out in the end. Bathroom

It's amazing

This board has been busy lately.  I can't help but notice, though, how those smileys are popping up everywhere.  I ask one simple question about how to get them and suddenly they're all over the place.  I wonder where they'll show up next.  Maybe in parliament.  That would liven up question time. Yes Man

I'm getting there

Quote From: yesyoucan

Telemarketers would be a four letter word around here if only four letters in the word. THANK GOD for caller ID. I hope you find your way back fro reading posts. How are things? (((HUGs))) SEA

This week hasn't been so bad.   Thumbs Up   The kids are over whatever it was that was in their system and my husband started a new job.  Which is kind of an old job.  What I mean is; he started working again in a factory that he was in last year.  The company uses a lot of temp. staff and after he'd had an accident there last Easter, they let him go.  Because they had plenty of product and no buyers.  The only problem was, he enjoyed the work and it was the way they let him go.

But now, he's back there and happy. I hope.  I guess we'll find out how he likes it after his first week.  Hopefully, he won't have any accidents and they'll keep him on long enough for us to get back on our feet, financially.

 Mother's Day

To all the mum's out there on this board, I'd like to wish you a Happy Mother's Day.  I hope you can all manage to get a decent breakfast in bed.

Mother's Day Teddy We're going for a picnic to our local park.  It should be good, if a little crowded.  My whole family is going to be there.  Mum, Dad, sister and her family, brother and his family.  We'll be going down a little earlier than the rest of the family, so we can get a good table and barbecue.  It's going to be a busy day.  The fresh autumn air should be good for all of us.

Wish me luck? Lol. (((((Hugs))))) Ruth

The weather is the only variable

Quote From: yesyoucan

It does sound like things are looking up with the children feeling better and your husband back at work. Now, breakfast in bed and a lovely picnic would be a grand way to spend this Mother's Day weekend. I hope everything goes perfectly and things just keep getting better and better. Enjoy. Hugs and prayers and nice to see you again. (((HUGs))) xoxo SEA

We've been having some pretty good days down here, though the nights and early mornings are getting chilly.  At least we don't get snow here in Queensland.

So hopefully, the day will be nice and sunny so everyone can enjoy it.  If not, then they all end up at my place.  Which is a bit messy.  I should probably clean up, you know, just in case.  Though, I don't feel like it.  Lol. xoxo Ruth

Depression

Quote From: sharly

I am new on this board. has anyone here been dg as having clinical depression. Looking for some support but most here do not seem to be discussing depressiom

The people on this board can support you in ways that you never thought possible.  We try to help by being upbeat and bringing a smile to your face.  Sometimes that is the best way to deal with it.

Don't give up in your search for support.  Keep visiting with everyone here and read some other posts.  Maybe there is something in them that will help you.

Everybody on this board has been through it and do their best to help in the way they know how.

Try to keep your chin up and put your face to the sun.  The warmth you feel can be soothing.

Take care of you.  No one else knows how.

Not yet, at that point

Quote From: yesyoucan

I hope you are having sweet dreams. (((HUGs))) xoxox

I had been out for the night, catching up with a friend and didn't get home until after your post came in(in Aust. time, that is).

Thank you for what you said.  It really lifted my spirits.  I was just trying to express the way I feel when I read some of these positive posts.  Sometimes we only have each other and it does help to read what people say and do.

As you know, talking about anything at all can help ease depression.  And going for a walk in the sunshine warms the body, mind and spirit.
