Shady Law

This is a ridiculous and weakly written law. Even Esther's attorney looked dumbfounded when pressed about it. Any law written should be in the best interest of the child. This child has a right to know and love not only her father but her paternal grandparents.

Esther's parents are complete control freaks. I don't even know why a 20 year old woman would have parents that are that involved unless she is incompetent. The only people on that stage should have been the baby's father and mother. It is THEIR decision and no one else's!

I feel bad for all the kids out there who don't even know who their real parents are. It's almost like having a human pet. Ever since the family structure broke apart so did the sense of responsbility and commitment to being in a family. It's just sad.

Corporal Punishment

... is corporal punishment no matter how you look at it. If you don't know how to gain respect from a child then you are definitely not doing the right thing. We had respect for our parents and our teachers. In turn our children had respect for us. It is not something that is gained by beating or hurting someone.

I sure wish Dr. Phil would have asked Keila if she had any kids. I serious doubt she does and if she did there is no doubt in my mind that she would not mind if someone paddled HER kids! What is this the dark ages? Have we learned nothing from our past? These kids these days - ha! These parents these days is more like it!

Ban corporal punishment!!!

Parenting is Key

One of the most important things, keep an open mind, that parents can do is do their job. No parent and no child is going to be perfect. As stewards of our children it is our biggest reponsibility to guide them to adulthood. When things go wrong they need to be addressed and dealt with. If they are constant signs that things just are not right then for everyone's sake it needs to be corrected.

In this case everyone is hurt. The adult children are, the siblings and the parents. I see much more leniency (parents AND judges) in today's population than ever before. That only makes things worse - not better. There is a huge lesson here for parents - that is pay attention to all of your children and their actions.

Agree to Disagree

All too often when parents are feuding it gets ugly. The main thing everyone needs to keep a focus on is the best interest of the kids. A lot of parents disagree on a lot of levels, which is why they split up in the first place. As long as a parent is not abusive (which it sounds like this dad is) then everything else can be dealt with.

I think these parents and a lot of divorcing parents need to have counseling. They need to learn how to make it work and it a lot of cases they probably need to gain some decent parenting skills. Mothers-in-law should BUTT out completely!

My Story

I don't have the fears that Kathleen does but I am in awe that she was able to fly. That has been my greatest fear - always. It has kept me from going anywhere. I always wished they would have special flights for people who are afraid to fly. I even imagine a drop down mask with nitrous (laughing gas) in it. I mean I had that for the first time a few months ago for dental surgery and I was like wow - I could really use this during a flight. I know it is extreme but that is the only way I would want to get in another plane. Kudos to Kathleen for having the courage to fly.

Back to the beginning

Like it or not our country and its consitution was based on faith. Every law that we have integrates God, morals and decency. If we did not have these laws then what would stop us from running in the streets naked, robbing banks, burning up property, etc. without consequence. It is the same thing when it comes to marriage. In the Bible it states it is between a man and a woman. I am far from a Bible thumper but I do believe in the 10 commandments and morals.

It sickens me for kids growing up in our society in these times. There is nothing but trash at the movies, on tv and even billboards. I was floored when I was a full-size naked woman on a billboard in downtown L.A. Do people just not have any shame at all any more?

Marriage = 1 man and 1 woman, according to God and according to the majority of us!! In God We Trust!

Mind Control

I had to laugh when I saw the title of this show and the content. I so thought it was going to be about Obama. Do you see the blank looks in the eyes of the crowds that form around him? It is sooo scary!! Obama could definitely be a cult leader. Definitely.

Book 'em Doctor

The audacity of the first couple on your show. They weren't the least bit remorsefull about what they did. I don't even know why they agreed to come on the show. I was unconvinced that they wanted to stop or thought it was a big deal in any way. I do not ever want to see kids taken from their parents but sometimes their parents are the worst people they can be with. What are these kids going to learn, if they haven't already?? I hope they were arrested and everything was returned to the stores where they came from and that they are banned for life from EBay!! How disgusting!!

Absent Parents

While I agree with the hard hitting questions given to the mother - with no good answers - I would love to see the same asked of any absent father. It is 2009 and women are still considered a bigger deadbeat than a father who is nothing more than a sperm donor in some cases. No one ever questions these guys.

I would love to see a show called "Fatherless in America." So many women and children are getting pregnant like they go to the store for a loaf of bread and have no clue as to who the Dad is or where he is. It is time to wake up America and get some morals. It is painfully obvious looking at this 15 year old child just how painful it really is to be raised with just one parent.
