Depression

Quote From: huniebunie

I also read a few more that has welcomed me to this site.

Well, I am going to help my mom in our flower garden.

I love flowers!

I might get another Lop's bunnie!

Have a nice day

Hi HunieBunie,

That is so nice of you to help your mother. Do you still live at home or just near your mom to spend quality time together? I love flowers and the different fragrance the produce!

I saw Suzanne say she liked it too, so do I.

There have really been some new posters the past couple

of days. Sometimes I get exhausted with my own life and

don't have the strenght to post to everyone. I hope that they

forgive me. Hunie Bunie, hpy camper and others, well

actually I have had more posts disappear on me than I

think has ever happened to me before, hmmm....

I have been doing yard work this morning and took a break

for a minute. It isn't too hot, but is warm so trying to get it

done before that happens. Well enough of me!

Just wanted to let you know that I haven't been

ignoring your replies to me. I have read and

replied to your post, but I must be hitting the

wrong button. Sorry about that.

Hi Mimi

Quote From: cureusmimi

Sorry, I haven't been on the board in a couple days. I like your idea a lot and I think it would be great if we can get a discussion going on depression's causes and affects. I think that would be a great topic of discussion for this board. They're are a lot of different methods and tools that can be used as coping skills. It would be interesting in how others cope with their depression.

I have not read many more posts so if this is already in effect that is great and I will see if I can join in. Right now I  have to run to the big house though!

MIMI

Mimi,

I don’t know if you made a typo or not. But, I did mean effect not affect. Effect, as in anything brought about by a cause; result, to bring about.

For example:

What are some of the effects you have experienced because of your depression? What methods have you tried to combat/cope with the effects of depression?

Just want to make sure we're on the same page, so, I hope you don’t mind the english lesson. But, having OCD, brings that out in me..LOL!  Good Evening to you!

Depression

Quote From: lauriej

Maybe your coffee will perk you up, LOL. That is what i am trying. Still feeling crappy, wish this would go away, seems like it is first thing in the morning and later in the day, isn't it supposed to be the other way around feeling sick during work hours and better afterwards, LOL. Last night I was so cold but then every morning I wake up feeling so warm, this is day 5 so it has to get better soon. I got most of my work done yesterday that I had to get done this week so I can relax a bit now maybe even come home early today.

Hope your day is a good one

Laurie

Thanks!

Think positive, "it will be a good day for all."

For all the CAT lovers on board...

CAT RULES

Rules for Cats to Live By

BATHROOMS:

Always accompany guests to the bathroom.

It is not necessary to do anything.

Just sit and stare.

DOORS:

Do not allow any closed doors in any room.

To get door open, stand on hind legs and

hammer with forepaws.

Once door is opened, it is not necessary

to use it. After you have ordered

an "outside" door opened, stand halfway

in and out and think about several things.

This is particularly important during very cold weather, rain, snow, or mosquito season.

CHAIRS AND RUGS:

If you have to throw up, get to a chair quickly.

If you cannot manage in time, get to an

Oriental rug. If there is no Oriental rug,

shag is good.

When throwing up on the carpet,

make sure you back up so it is as long

as a humans bare foot.

HAMPERING:

If one of your humans is engaged in

some activity and the other is idle,

stay with the busy one.

This is called "helping,"

otherwise known as "hampering."

Following are the rules for "hampering:"

1) When supervising cooking, sit just behind the left heel of the cook. You cannot be seen and thereby stand a better chance of being

stepped on and then picked up and comforted.

2) For book readers, get in close under the chin, between eyes and book, unless you can lie

across the book itself.

3) For paperwork, lie on the work in the most appropriate manner so as to obscure as much

of the work as possible or at least.

Pretend to doze, but every so often reach

out and slap the pencil or pen.

4) When a human is holding the newspaper in front of him/her, be sure to jump on

the back of the paper. Humans love to jump.

5) When human is working at computer, jump up on desk, walk across keyboard, bat at mouse pointer on screen and then lay in human's lap

across arms, hampering typing in progress.

WALKING:

As often as possible, dart quickly and as close as possible in front of the human, especially:

on stairs, when they have something in their arms, in the dark, and when they first get up

in the morning. This will help their

coordination skills.

BEDTIME:

Always sleep on the human at night

so he/she cannot move around.

LITTER BOX:

When using the litter box, be sure to kick

as much litter out of the box as possible.

Humans love the feel of kitty litter

between their toes.

HIDING:

Every now and then, hide in a place

where the humans cannot find you.

Do not come out for three to four

hours under any circumstances.

This will cause the humans to panic

(which they love) thinking that you

have run away or are lost.

Once you do come out, the humans will

cover you with love and kisses

and you will probably get a treat.

ONE LAST THOUGHT:

Whenever possible, get close to a human, especially their face, turn around,

and present your butt to them

Humans love this, so do it often.

And don't forget guests!

Depression

OH YEAH!

How come you press harder on a remote-control

when you know the battery is dead?

Have you ever imagined a world with no hypothetical situations?

Why do banks charge you a "non-sufficient funds fee"

on money they already know you don't have?

What would a chair look like if your knees bent the other way?

Why is a carrot more orange than an orange?

Old telephone books make ideal personal address books.

Simply cross out the names and addresses of people you don't know.

Don`t think that you`re thinking.

If you think that you're thinking you only think that you're thinking.

And if all that didn't get you thinkin' - here's something that will! :)

3 men went to a motel.

The man behind the desk said the room is $30,

so each man put up $10 each and went to the room.

A little while later he realized the room was only $25,

so he sent the bellhop back to the 3 guys room with $5.

On the way to the room the bellhop couldn't figure how

to split the $5 between the 3 guys so he just gave

each one of them $1 and he kept the other $2.

That left the 3 guys paying $9 each for the room.

3x9=27+ the 2 that the bellhop kept =$29.

WHERE'S THE OTHER DOLLAR??????
