I'm am appalled at the calousness of this Matt. If he was so adamant that he did not want to be a father then he should have kept it in his pants. As a Christian I of course believe that abstinence
is the answer until you marry and are ready for a committed relationship. I love your show. You are like a drug that you just can't do without. Please keep up your stand on these kinds of issues.
You hit the nail on the head, woman have fought for equal rights, Matt just wants the legal right to leave the baby at a safe haven and give up all custody and financial responsibility just like every other woman has. It doesn't sound like he hates the baby or wishes harm, he knows he doesn't want to be a father in any sense of the word. When a women decides she doesn't want to be a mother the law doesn't force her to be. Again, it makes me sad to think someone would not want thier own baby....but it is what our constitution guarantees. We can't just fight for it when it suits us. As for being ashamed of a son, I would want my son to have the choice but I would raise him to make the right choice.
There is no reason to get angry with people who are pointing out another side to this issue, most of us are sad this is even necessary to discuss but some of us have legal backgrounds and look at it from a legal and constitutional angle not a personal one. Everyone has a right to their opinion but it's like abortion if you don't believe in it teach your family our belief, but the rest of the country has a right to their beliefs.
What is happening to our world. If Matt did not want to be a father then in my opinion he should have left his zipper closed. When Doctors tell you that you can't get pregnant that is not necessarily a given. A very good friend of mine was told that she would more than likely never conceive because her womb was severly tipped the wrong way. She has three beautiful girls now. My sister-in-law was told the same thing because she had to have one of her overies removed but at the age of 41 she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. My point is that these two fathers never expected to become fathers but they did and they took the responsibility and cared for those children. I agree that Matt needs to grow up and be a man. Sometimes our actions causes us to have to grow up sooner than me may want but if Matt did not want that to happen he should have kept it in his pants.
Dr Phil, I realize Im surely one of the very few in America that would believe in Drews innocence. You see Ive known Drew since he was a very young man and although his arrogance and sense of humor come off as psychotic and narcissistic, I cannot belive he is capable of such crimes. I cannot answer the obvious, such as why hasnt Stacy or her "missing" companion surfaced, or why would she leave her children. But I also cannot answer why would a middle aged man choose to raise 4 small children on his own without a young beautiful wife? Drew has always been kind of nerdy but funny and has anyone given him credit for helping to raise his two grown sons responsibly, or providing for his present family or even being an honored police officer all of these years? I realize there are stories in everyones lives that can make a person appear on the outside to be a horrible person but look at the overall picture and know Drew and his first wife as I have and it is not feasible that he has done this.
Come on!!! where is the sand your head has been in for the last few years. He is as guilty as O.J. is and you being an acquaintance does not make him any less guilty. Some people just don't have a heart and can cover things up without feeling or showing guilt at all. GET REAL!!!
