It is disturbing just how many people go missing in this country, not to mention the world every day! I have always been called paranoid, however, I have looked at many of the missing person web sites on the Internet, I have looked at police web sites from all over the country, looked at all of the unidentified bodies, unsolved cases, etc. I know I have reason to worry.
I, like most of the people in this country have grown up in a decent community, with a good family. I could have never been made aware of sex-trafficking, it is just not a dinner topic around most households.
Until recently, with the 24/7 media, and Internet, most people did not really know the extent of what went on, in the country, much less the world, unless it was in the local news.
I am amazed at the numbers of children and young adults that go missing every day! I am amazed as a nation , we have not demanded our leaders take the big steps to deal with this CRIME!
Human trafficking is a high profit, low risk, low overhead crime. If one is caught, there is little or no punishment to deter the behavior. One has to wonder where in the world all the missing people end up at. 100,000 bodies a year are not easy to hide...
There has to be a group or organization that has people all over the world, stealing people, and moving them around the world, to different locations. It would have to be a tight group, well organized, well connected, probably a family business, going back generations. The numbers are just too large for this to be many isolated incidents. Yes, there are many sick people in the world, but way too many people go missing without a trace every year. There has to be a
connection.
I don't know what the solution is, but I do believe the problem is more then most could comprehend. Sad but true.
