weight loss challenge

Quote From: tpackos

Hello,

It looks like there are 3 of us in the Mesa/Gilbert area.  My name is Keri and I live in Gilbert.  I have the book I have to admit I have not read it all the way yet.  I am 5' nothing and about 240 lbs.  According to all the papers because of my height I think I am supposed to weigh about 110 lbs.  I can't even imagine that.  I have more weight then that to lose to get there!!!  I am going to take this a little at a time because as I have heard before I didn't gain this much weight overning I certainly am not going to lose it overnight.  Do you guys have any suggestions about how we can become a "team" and motivate one another?

 Hi Keri,

I'm in Gilbert and need to lose at least 120 lbs.  I would find it very helpful to have someone to correspond with for motivation and support for both or all of us.  Would you be interested in getting together to walk a couple times a week  especially since our weather is getting much nicer.  Write/email me back.  Thanks,

                  Maria G.

Dr. Phil's weight loss challenge

Quote From: piggy1

Hi everyone ,

I need a little friendly support, was looking for on-line friends to talk and share our weight loss progress and our life's.In the outside world I don't have any friends, except my husband who is my best friend well most of the time and English bulldogs(and all his family says I look like them (OK fat and ugly let be honest thats what they mean). My husband and myself are both suffering from obesity but he only See's me as fat so till hes ready I'm on my own.

Let me give you a little back ground, My husband is a over the road truck driver, In the last year we have lost our house due to fire, and when my house burnt down I lost my home business( Manicures& Pedicures)and unable to re-establish due to insurance well you can imagine. Then My Mother-in-law past away......on and on now I'm looking to reinvent my self by starting with a clean slate, but my slate is 44yrs old & weighs about 218 pounds and I'm 5ft 4'' so I look like a beach ball, I know there is someone in side of me who is just waiting to be released, OK  fighting to emerge, who's smart confident and beautiful inside and out.  so last of all if you a need a friend to lean on or some one  to just listen . I'm here for the small price of a friendship

My name is Maria and I need friendly support also. I need to lose approx 120 lbs. My husband has never had weight issues and my parents were also in their ideal weight range.  Needless to say I need to interact with friends who understand what it is we are going through and give us the motivation and help to succeed and find our inner beauty that you and I are fighting for.  Feel free to email me at anytime.  My email is mariagroll@cox.net.  Take care and hear from you soon.

Hello Everyone,
Well I started week 3 today.  I weight in this morning and I lost 3 lbs. That makes a total of 8, so now I only have 101 to go .  I'm so glad I started two weeks ago.  If I hadn't I would be in the same place.  It's encouraging to know that I don't want to stay this way anymore. I'm listening to Dr. Phil's book on CD and I'm working on my three goals.  I'm trying to do things in the book as I missed something last time cause I didn't continue working those keys.  I'm hoping on this journey I will learn more and not have to do this ever again. I'm taking it slowly and letting things sink in.  I'm hoping you are all doing well and reading the book and working those keys.  Will check in with you next week with some more loss, I hope!!!!!
Peggy G

Hi Peggy,

That's great!  It takes small steps one day at a time and I'm glad your journey has started.  I'm on week one and will weigh myself on Thursday.  I am following the goals I've set and will do all 7 keys this time.  I also tried 5 years ago and didn't do all the keys but I will this time.  I know you'll have more loss next week.  Atta girl!!!

motivating each other for weight loss

Quote From: clayman9385

Hi I'm Dustin and I will be your friend and support you through this.  I'm 23, and currently overwight (213).  I'm 5'11.5", so I'm not THAT much overweight (about 30 pounds roughty).  However...I used to be 251 when I was a freshman in high school but I got down to 170lbs.  Lately I slipped into bad eating habits and here I am I've put on 40+ pounds.  I know what it takes to lose weight.  Its never easy (at the beginning) but once you see results its a big motivation and kick in the butt to lose more.  Any advice you need, I'm here.

Hi Dustin and thank you for your response.  I know you will do it and I keep telling myself that it's worth all the time and effort to get healthy and more fit.  I'm in week 1 and will weigh myself on Thursday so I'll see how I'm doing.  Will keep on track and writing down what I eating for portion control also.   Thanks alot for being here.

You can do it!

Quote From: tracy1676

I need to lose 100 lbs, and I'm very determined to do so by the end of next summer.  I figured 2lbs a week is doable.  I've been living in a body that "just isn't me".  I used to be very active, but now I don't go out and do the things I used to.  It makes me very sad.  No more!!  I'm taking off my fat suit and becoming the person I know that I am deep down inside!!  I'm starting to read Dr. Phil's book, and I'm very inspired and ready to go.  Any good suggestions, tips, helpful hints?  I'm open to anything.

I also need to lose 100 lbs, actually 120 to be at my ideal weight.  2lbs a week is very doable and that's the goal I set for myself.  I found by doing the work in Dr. Phil's book, journaling, and writing down what I eat every day is helping.  I also stop eating at 8 pm so I'm not tempted to snack as much.  I also do not like to exercise but in order to be successful we have to get moving and do the type of exercises that meet our life style.  I live in Arizona so now our weather will be getting great for walking which is really good for us.  Feel free to email at any time.  My email address is mariagroll@cox.net   I know you can do it!
