count yourself lucky

Quote From: flrat69

I am one person who has no sympathy for these people.  If they wanted to adopt, they should have gone through known legitimate channels.  Putting an ad in the paper?  Why not just auction a baby off?  These are people who outsmarted themselves and got burned for it.  They weren't even smart enough to know something was up when the "mother" kept having them repaint the same room?  These people might have just as well written their ad on a bathroom wall.  There are many children out there who really need good homes.  These people were too good for that?  I see kids with no homes all the time, but these people wouldn't think of them.  No.  They had to buy the "best" child they could and they got what they deserved.

Wow, aren't you full of yourself. Count yourself lucky that have not walked in these peoples shoes, or others like them.

You have no right to tell people where they should go to adopt. For your info. adopting through what you call "proper channels" get people scammed too. Educate yourself before you step into this arena.

Just you wait

Quote From: bradycakes

Dr. Phil has got to be kidding me. This woman scammed them. She lied, cheated, made them believe in a false reality. With all of this against her, Dr. Phil barely made her realize the error of her mistakes. She was smirking the entire time. Why didn't he call her out on it? I know he wanted to befriend her in order to allow the other women to confront her, but that was ridiculous. He needed to put her in her place and let her know how much she ruined these people's lives.

Watch tomorrow.

07/26 Adoptions Scams, Part 1

Quote From: anon_slc

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is very committed to investigating internet, mail and telephone fraud.  The FTC works for the consumer to prevent fraudulent, deceptive and unfair business practices in the marketplace and to provide information to help consumers report, spot, stop, and avoid them.

Education is a key tool to prevent consumer injury.  The following link to the FTC website, you'll find publications with advice on avoiding scams and rip-offs, as well as tips on other consumer topics and reporting consumer fraud.

www.ftc.gov/ftc/consumer.htm

To file a complaint or to get free information on consumer issues, visit www.ftc.gov or call toll-free, 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357); TTY: 1-866-653-4261.

The FTC enters Internet, telemarketing, identity theft, and other fraud-related complaints into Consumer Sentinel, a secure, online database available to hundreds of civil and criminal law enforcement agencies in the U.S. and abroad.

Hope it helps!

We wish!!
