It's Tuff for Teens in Foster Care

Thanks for helping!  The hardest group to deal with in foster care are teens.  The "Independent Living Program" in Georgia is a joke.  While in foster care, if the teen shows any kind of bad attitude, they are moved.  If they elect to stay in foster care after their 18th birthday, (often the case because they haven't finished highschool) they will be kicked out of foster care if they have ONE incidence of misbehavior.  They usually don't get the counseling they need in order to deal with their problems, so they often do have issues.  If you can do anything for a certain 19 year old in our area who was "kicked out" of foster care, we sure would like to know.

09/18 Parents Falsely Accused?

I do believe we should ere on the side of the child.  However, please consider that removing a child from their home sometimes does more damage than the abuse itself.  We should use common sense and a lot of discretion
